My first 1 hour Skull Merchant match

Hi guys! Would you like to know how my experience went? Well, you came to the right post because do i got an experience to share.

We all understand skull merchant has great potential to 3 gen. We got to this point at ormond. It got to the point where the player as just going back and forth and even ignoring us as we heal each other in plain sight.

It got to the point where i finally managed to experience my first match that force closed. And what do we all get for experiencing an hour match where the killer stalled and decided not to chase us. We all get a sacrifice icon in the end result. Basically meaning, we lost. Good decision from this game where both psrties failed to meet their objectives and give it to the killer side.

Whoever said this game isnt killer sided...can we have a talk. Cause in this case, the devs, i mean, the entity favors the killers who can stall the match for 1 hour and reward them by not killing survivors. Wonderous job. Spectacular.

How did your experience go wth skull merchants? Please remain civil and i would love to hear your experiences. Your story. Your trials of tribulations.

When i was killer, I have had the same experience with survivors, where they didnt do gens. and the match took more then 40 minutes. This just shows that there are fools on both sides of the fence.

That is true. But in my case, i was very surprised. All four of us did not give up nor lose hope. We were really invested in finishing. Which is a first for me especially in solo, because ppl would usually give up quickly in our scenario.

i feel like it should sacrifice the survivors but give the killer only the kills they truly earned

  • Her ability to lock down a 3 gen is way too strong.

I have a lot of experience breaking 3 gens in an optimal setting. My team has 3 outed a Hag in a tourney (no gen speed perks or toolboxes) that got the Thompson house 3 gen with a pre-nerf Ruin totem (200% regression) in the middle of the 3 gen. It took us 27 minutes. When I say Skull Merchant is way too strong at holding a 3 gen, I'm speaking from experience.

  • It's your fault for not doing what we all do. we see a Skull merchant with 3 drones on the other side of the map, we go afk or give up and go next to find someone who wants to play the game.

    1. you cant really compare with a game that have restrictions.
    2. nurse, dredge, doc perhaps more can do the same.
    3. the map does also have a lot to say, some variations are survivor sided and others are killer sided, there are even variations where the killer cant get a single hook if survivors run to a specific area on that map, when the killer down you (its not a corner) and it is just not a single map.

The restrictions have absolutely nothing to do with what we're talking about in this case though.

No, other killers are not as good as the Skull Merchant at holding a 3 gen. I'm not sure why this talking point keeps being brought up. It's patently false.

I'm not sure what you mean with your last point. If maps didn't constantly spawn defendable 3 gens, we wouldn't be seeing a constant stream of posts about Skull Merchant 3 gens.

The major issue people are ignoring here is - EVEN IF other killers would be better at 3 genning, well... they still want to PLAY the game and chase survivors in order to kill.

SM players(90% of them) want to stand still and let the win come to them, even a facecamping bubba has to go out once to get his victim.

That's more because other killers who excel at 3-genning tend to also be strong or at least servicable in chase. Skull Merchant is just the most basic m1 killer in chase because her drones do barely anything to help her there.

SMs who don't 3-gen are purposefully handicapping themselves just to be nice/have fun because she's just far weaker when she doesn't 3gen.

Sure, they shouldn't handicap themselves and I shouldn't compromise my fun just to watch them stand still in an area of 20m until we finish 4 other gens, they do them, I do me.

  • I remember reading a post by a Mod (I think Mandy) that if the killer is camping a three gen and makes no effort to chase and down survivors after an extended amount of time, can be punished with a ban (dunno if temp or not). I don’t know what extended amount of time is, but maybe, if you can, record your matches and report them.

I doubt they will reworked her in the near future. They’ll eventually give her the Freddy treatment when she’s not making them money anymore. In the meantime they need to reduce the match time limit to 30 minutes.

I think that post was in regards to a Doctor who purposefully never hit survivors. Like even if a survivor was standing right in front of him he would ignore them and just defend the gens. That's against the rules, but protecting a 3-gen and only going for easy hits, even if easy hits rarely ever happen, is much more of a grey area, since technically you are still trying to ultimately kill the survivors, unlike in the Doctor game.

  • She needs a complete rework

And I am talking about a bigger rework than what Freddy got a few years ago

I get that, and it sucks. But it dosnt make a killer or a survivor OP. The player is just a toxic fool. When i was killer I have had games with SWFs that as soon as they saw that i could not catch them, they just stopped doing gens and harassed me and dragged the match, because they apperently were bullies. Should the survivors be nerfed because of that? no.

I have also had matches with almost any killer that if they would, they could have dragged the match.

It all comes down to the person behind the screen.

Fine give us a way to rate them then, these days of sunshine should be forced to play each other.

They have a lot of players to ban then, start filming your games peepz

bruh, i keep watching how survivors have progression 16 times faster and still cry about m1 killer

  • One hour match against her? Oh man I would have just let her kill me long before that.

  • I noticed that sometimes a drone does not cover the gen but you can still access it. This is due to the fact that launching a drone takes a couple of secs but the placement will be the initial location where you stepped the action button. Wonder if this will be corrected.

I mean if the survivors are competent and you're holding a 3 gen they'll wait until you stop. You make it so we dont have a chance to win... well now you can't either. Stop expecting survivors to help you win.

    1. I disagree, you use an example with restricked play, to claim the killer is OP.
    2. You need to play more killer then, i defo have had some really strong 3 gens with both Doc, Nemisis, Freddy, Dredge where the survivors could do nothing.
    3. You also dont constantly meet SM do you? There are specific map spawns that make it impossibe for the killer to get a hook, if the survivors run to the right place. (not corners, but corners work on most maps)

As a solo Q survivor I haven't seen survivors run to no hook spots in months.
