Omg why is this stuff still here??

This shouldn't be allowed.

I mean , the exit are:

-On the SAME wall

-You can see both staying in the middle

-The distance between them is <60 meters for sure.

#########?! There is no way out unless you find a key. In this situation there is no stealth mindgame for the sole survivor.

@Peanits do you have any plan for this?

Thanks, Leonardo

Seemed entirely fair to me. Some games the gates spawn across the map from one another and the killer has zero chance to patrol both effectively (barring Nurse and maybe Hillbilly) in that instance the RNG favored the survivors. In the case of Monto, the RNG favored him that game.

Have you ever posted here bringing up issues when the gates spawn too far apart? I would wager you have not.

If I'm missing something here, please clarify for me, not trying to come off as disrespectful.

    Cheers.

Try that with other random survivors in a game which can easily snowball when one of them plays dumb.

People seem to see too many 4-man-swf that they fail to see, that DbD is a teamplay optional game and as long a survivor is alive they haven't completely failed and many things are outside of their control. Of course the last survivor shouldn't be given a 100% free escape. But EGC shouldn't be a 100% survivor loss, because of bad gate spawns either.

I do, all the time. And you know how I survive?

By not relying on randoms or the hatch. I dont always escape, but I also dont have the issue of "omg we didnt get ######### done but I cant get out now because the doors are too close meeeehhhhhhhh".

Because it's not the objective. The gens are.

Not to mention a "good swf" can snowball just as badly and lose as well.

Either way, if you and the randoms didnt get work done, why would you expect an escape? Does it suck to get bad teammates? Absolutely. But what's worse is thinking you deserve a free escape simply because you had a bad game or a mismatched team.

Some games will not go well. Period.

Besides the fact that if EGC is 100% loss (which it isnt), it's still better than 100% loss requiring 45 mins of sitting around first.

    It does its job.

  • I think most survivors have forgotten EGC was not made to give survivors a last risky attempt at escaping. EGC was put in to prevent games going on forever and stuff like hatch standoffs and survivors taunting at the exit gates keeping the killer in the game until they decide to attack and finish their taunt by walking through the exit point. That's what it is if the survivors Failed to complete the gens and the last survivor failed to find the hatch first. You dont automatically deserve to escape through the EGC its just there to end the game so everyone can get into their next game same reason closing the hatch was added

There are no plans for this at the moment. While we can add new rules to gate spawning, we cannot fully prevent that from happening. You would need to make sure that no point on the map has line of sight on both gates, and even then, you could move slightly to watch one or the other. You'd also have things like the ski lodge on Ormond that would allow you to see right over and obstacles and easily watch both gates.

Regardless, it's going to be tough to escape sometimes. At that point, the survivor has failed to power the generators and failed to find the hatch first. The collapse is meant to end the game at that point, not necessarily to give them a third chance to escape.

Is it that ######### hard to code fixed gate spawns? You guys did it with Lerys and the Game.

The end game collapse isn't concerned with helping one side or the other. Sometimes it screws the survivor(s), sometimes it screws the killer.

Its only purpose is to add a system that can put a hard time limit on a match, to avoid "the only winning move is not to play" situations like hatch standoffs and survivors crouching around the map for a century.

How does it screw the killer?

  • @KillermainBTWm8 said:

Bad luck. The survivor had a chance to get hatch they failed. Now they sadly have to die. Just the way it goes. It's just rng it works both ways the gates can be across the map from eachother.

Losing bc of bad luck is bullshit.

If the killer runs any kind of detection perk like Whispers the EGC is over regardless of where the gates spawn. Make it a gamble for both sides. Gates spawn on separate walls far AF apart from each other.

  • @Decarcassor said:

So what about when the gates spawn far away from each other on a large map against a killer with no mobility ? Thats a very easy escape for a survivor who's team failed at everything else before.

Killers have perks to help detect Surviviors and have to gamble just like Surviviors do. Even playing field.

  • @RoKrueger said:

Sometimes the exits appear far from each other, sometimes they appear close to each other.

Sometimes the killer will just kill you, it should not be easy to escape.

Play again, do better next time.

In other words: pray to the RNG gods.

  • Italiani. Ci facciamo sempre riconoscere.

  • This wasn't in the game before end game update anyway so not an issue, you get bloods for opening the gate anyway only get 5k for surviving so only really lost out on around 4k bloods

Yeah, also 4 instaheals don't happen all times. As well as survivors spowning right in front of totems. You know, sometimes as killer you just lose, it's the game

    Yes.
