The Karma System- SOLUTION TO DISCONNECTS

Coming from a long time counter strike source jailbreak moderator, and an owner/ superadmin on a trouble in terrorist town server in garrysmod. TTT being the game with the most complex rules and highest difficulty in being a just moderator, due to the community developed rules with tons of loopholes.

I'm writing this quickly so dont nitpick my grammar please

Karma works like this- all players have a karma #. The karma goes up for completing objectives and finishing matches. The karma goes down if you (bad word for saying suicide??) early, or leave matches. Karma should also be minorly effected by player ratings. At the end of the game players can rate each other. Karma would stay hidden in lobby screens and such, but would be 50% of the determining factor for who you are matched against. The other 50% being actual rank. Perhaps the karma would persist regardless of switching roles to killer or survivor. So killer mains cant just be troll disconnecters when playing survivor and not be negatively affected in their killer games. Therefor only lower karma players would get matched with others of the same stature. Karma can be fixed by behaving well for a long period of time, as it would eventually go back up. Karma would start at around 1000 and max out at around 2,500. Reaching less than 250 should put a warning marker on your account, so devs can keep closer eyes on the way these players conduct themselves.

And yes it purposely goes up high on order to create some leverage since survivors arent always unjust in their reasoning for disconnecting or dying early on purpose.

Disconnecting from a game isnt always breaking the rules.

The game is absurdly broken the way it is. I am talking present tense. No hypotheticals. A karma system now would help greatly, right now. But all the other issues you want to tall about... matchmaking and such is all independent from this issue. Of course you can make an argument like that but I'm going to be sitting here all day if you expect me to hash out every aspect of the game you decide to use against me. I'm suggesting a karma system, and it would work to decentivise disconnecting, and prevent many unjust bans.

You came on here to post your ideas about disconnecting, so did I. I explained why I thought my method was better, so did you. Why would you come onto the forums, an area of discussion if you don't want to discuss how things should work?

Oh no? Feel free to share where the devs said that and which instances aren't breaking the rules.

Its truth. Idc what anyone says. The devs dont know what's best for their game. They're proven that much

So, again, you don't have an argument. It doesn't matter what your opinion of the devs and their rules is. It is their game to make the rules for and you agreed to follow them or suffer the consequences when you check, "I agree" to the ToS when you first loaded up the game.

They are wrong, and not very intelligent. That's why their game has never grown in its player base. At best they're consistent. Trust. Look at the state of this game. Its dying. The community is dwindling and this is all that's keeping it afloat. Wake up

So now you’re insulting the devs because people disagree with you? You can’t expect people to take you seriously.

  • don't like it 😁

I don't. It's quite clear their agenda is to punish players for not playing the way they want. All that talk in the other thread about fixing the reasons why people DC, trying to justify DCing, and straight up admitting that campers/tunnelers would be taking karma hits.

  • It's an over complicated system when a simple timeout for those that dc over a time period is simple and automatic.

    Say its over 24 hours.

    1 dc 5 min

    2 dc 10 mins

    3 dc 15 mins

    And so on.

The devs already said they are working on a new dc punishment with dedicated servers.

Lol ok. Disconnecting from a game is always bad for the other players who actually play the game. This is worse than bias; it's being selfish for allowing players to dc because they have been behaving well for few games.

This isnt always true, when your survivor friends are trapping you in a corner or the killer is farming and you dont want to. Maybe hes slugging you or dropping you a bunch to troll you. Theres a multitude of reasons for disconnecting that are good reasons imo. I don't feel the devs are right on that point. That's all. No hostility

If it's in the game, bad or good, it will be used. You can not justify disconnecting in a multiplayer game only because the game is not fun for you.

The most i can see is a forfeit option for survivors which allows them to leave the game if 4 survivors have already been in dying state without unbreakable equipped on any. This is not the same thing as leaving because you are the last survivor left in EGC. It's basically a way of taking the loss earlier, so that you don't have to suffer boring monitor. You would gain your BP like normal. Killer also would gain the BP that he would normally do, and a quitter bonus to make up for what BP they could have gained with specific killers like increasing madness with Doctor while slugging.

That is not the same as disconnecting to an iridescent head, doctor, nurse, spirit, simply anything that is not fun for you at any point in the game.

I know it's very boring, but disconnecting is just being inconsiderate of everyone in the trial. Same thing goes with not playing the game (basically afk.)

Sandbagging and similar exploits are devs fault. All i can say is be vigilant, and report.

I like using bold font too sometimes. Makes me feel special.

There are many more things that are much more inconsiderate than just disconnecting.

I don't use bold fonts on purpose; you can try copy pasting to see if it works for you. Anyways no hostility doesn't seem like the correct way to describe yourself. Please lower your attitude. Just because something is worse than this doesn't mean you've got the right to do it. If there was something so much more inconsiderate, then why is it that dcs are getting so much attention?
