Rancor changed?

Hello everyone, was hoping someone could answer something for me.

Just had a match were rancor was in play and it procted when he closed the hatch (was on the ground but got exposed and everything) and was promptly moried by it (no mori at endgame screen). I couldn't find anywhere that said rancor got changed, so is this bugged, cheat, or am I missing something?

    If you were the obsession the killer can Mori you if your the last survivor

    I'm aware but it used to be when the last gen actually got finished. We had 2 gens left when i was slugged.

    Yes but when hatch is closed it starts EGC which activates Rancors 2nd ability.

    According to both the wiki and my previous knowledge rancor does NOT activate when hatch is closed and egc starts.


    • It should be noted that in accordance with Rancor's description, closing the Hatch 
    •  and triggering the Endgame Collapse 
    •  does not activate its tertiary and quaternary effects as not all Generators were completed in that scenario.

    That sounds like a bug because as you said it ONLY activates when all the gens are completed, NOT when the hatch is shut.

    It’s a bug. It’s been a thing ever since they bugfixed rancor a few patches ago (back when it didn’t work at all).

    Did they have any mori offerings? If they had the Yellow mori and you were the last one that would explain it.

    It's a bug. But one that could be made into a feature in my opinion. Give me a good reason why Rancor shouldn't work this way. Not liking being mori'd is not a good reason.

    Yes by closing the hatch it powers the exit gates and finishes all gens. It's basically a failsafe so survivors can't bypass Rancor by letting hatch close

    Closing hatch only powers the exit gates, it does not finish the gens. Survivors could only bypass rancor through hatch (least till my case but that doesnt realy matter since i was downed anyway). Regardless it was only a passing curiosity and excuse to make a forum account.

    No, this is a bug. Mandy specifies that the perk is not supposed to activate when the hatch is closed here:

    It differs from Perks such as NOED for example which states "Once the exit gates are powered".

    (Mandy was responding to someone who claimed that Rancor was bugged because it didn't activate when the hatch was closed.)

    No, this is a bug. Mandy specifies that the perk is not supposed to activate when the hatch is closed here:
