Why did they wait now to change overzealous when it should have changed before release?
It makes no sense to do it now and not before. Why release it garbage in the first place
Wouldn't it be better to if change it before hand and save that spot for other bad survivor perks like..
This is not happening
Premonition
Boon:Dark Theory
Corrective Action
Technician
Clairvoyance
Up the Ante
Buckle Up (seriously your not changing this perk. This perk sees no uses at all)
And a few others.
How do they choose which perks to change or not?
Comments
No idea how buckle up still exists in its current form. But yeah this is weird for them, they never change stuff that quickly once it goes live unless it’s obviously broken like boil over was
It's very ######### when you consider they announced the 40 perk rework during the anni stream before the ptb was even out.
What's the ptb even for at this point?
Exactly. It's ridiculous
Seems like waste of time/resources to put out a perk they knew they were just going to change in few weeks.
They were clearly nervous to make it too good because the killer side of the community is very sensitive when it comes to perks that have anything to do with gen speed.
I'm just glad it's getting buffed.
Anything that makes gens slower or faster is getting changed.
They probably planned current perk long before and changed their mind or something. Or simply forgot about it
I had the exact same reaction. It's a really weird way to handle things, intentionally releasing a perk knowing it needs a second look.
Most likely because it does nearly nothing mathematically. It takes 14 seconds to break a totem. It gives you 6% speed boost 6% of 1 is 1.06 so for every 16 seconds you save 1 on a gen which is...really bad. That said it could also be that they're looking to normalize game time. Nearly all the perks mentioned affect the matches speed in some way.
They gonna change the main gen regression/ progression ones
With more math I did 6% faster repair in reality cuts off only 4.8 seconds of gen time so to repair a gen from 0 to 100 with overzealous it takes 75.2 seconds
Here’s a cool combo to do run overzealous with resilience. Get injured then cleanse a totem. And you have 15% faster repair speed. Which will complete the gen in 68 seconds
Up The Ante wouldnt be a bad perk if they gave more usage to Luck. What if it gave a chance for a Good Skill Check to count as a Great Skill Check, or increased item rarity from Chests? Just stuff that have niche application but not entirely useless, I mean people still use Plunderer's Instinct and Ace In The Hole, it could find it's way in there, or maybe even find it's way into a Stakeout and Fast Track build.
Chests sure, anything RNG should be kept far away from the main objective timers I would argue. Greats being an extra 1% and multiple survivors getting RNG procs could lead to extremely silly scenarios.
It was just an idea, and of course I was just putting in the ideal scenario in which the game is balanced enough to do it, but my point still stands regardless, we need Luck to be more useful, it's the least utilized mechanic in the game right beside modern-day keys.
