Devs I don't understand why you don't distinguish between High and Low MMR.

hey,

just a question: Technically not feasible?

or are there other reasons ? That would really interest me.

I'm...not sure what you're trying to say here. Right now, matchmaking is completely borked. Give it a few days to settle the new folks in and it'll even out.

  • What should they do?

Probably often way to much SWF for the available high MMR killers. So you also need the bad ones - who get stomped.

A lot of new or bad players but not enough new killers - what should they do?

A good killer comes and stomps them. (In fact this is me after i got stomped some games and the MMR tries to even out the 50%)

    nah

  • They do distinguish between high and low MMR players.

  • To maintain the status quo of a Survivor sided game

You realise all the Survivors would quit if this game was actually balanced right?

They do not, because the conditions are the same for each match

I’m saying the devs take MMR into account when they balance things. For instance, they’ve specifically talked about how Nurse and Twins have very different performance stats at average versus very high MMR and how they take that into account when deciding on possible tweaks for them.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying they’re not doing though. Are you saying you want the game to have some kind of handicapping system that, say, speeds up or slows down gens based on relative differences in MMR?

  • In case you didnt know - MMR is rigged. There is a softcap of 1900 and when you get there you effectively can't go any higher. This is unfair generally speaking because you can be paired with someone who has 3000+ MMR.

This is done to keep high ranked players from having to wait forever. If you ever have a 4k as killer and then bounce into a game where you get a 0K and everyone plays perfectly this explains why.

  • In order to have a working SBMM, they would need to establish a person's skill based on perks, items, SWF/soloQ, opponent etc. This is an INCREDIBLE amount of time and effort, and BHVR is never going to go for it. So no, people are never going to be playing against a roughly equally skilled opponent/teammate.
