Bubba Chainsaw power when camping

This is definitely one of the hottest topics.

But the only idea I can think of about it is to make sure that Bubba can't use the chainsaw within a certain range of the hook.

We already have killers like the Artist who have this mechanic, in fact with it it is not possible to place crows within a certain range of the hooks.

That's true artist can't do that but that's more to prevent her sniping while camping not to prevent u hooks. The big problem is if you say he can't activate it in a certain area he is just stand far enaugh away he makes good distance with his power. If you say the chainsaw just stops in a certain area around the hook you basically make it a save area to run when it's not a camping Bubba. Facecamping is a thing that is hard to work on without opening a way to abuse a Mechanik for the survivor the past shows that. And it's hard to decide when is camping Okey the devs already said proximity camping is totally fine and only facecamping is a problem but then you have situation like endgame where not going away is the right move. But if you say whatever Mechanik that prevents facecamping stops when the doors are open they just get 99 same goes for last gen. As long as we have swf it's incredible difficult to do anything against facecamping that a good cordinatet team can't abuse

  • I see no possible way this could be totally abused. Like survivors dive bombing the hook since they know they are completely immune to his power there or something. Yeah.

  • Ah, the daily Bubba thread.

I want to add - he is fine. Thank you.

He's fine except for his ability to face-camp which survivors don't have the ability to counter. When you can stare into a survivors face all game and get 2 to 4 kills every game, there's an issue.

    No it´s not - it´s a game.

  • :/ They should at least make it where you can't active the chainsaw at the hook, but can 10 meters away and be able to chain the sweep to the hook.

At least a little bit of counterplay

  • Disabling the chainsaw near a hook and leaving it at that can't really be done without survivors being able to abuse the mechanic.

It's much easier to build in an anti-camping mechanic with a new killer (as they have done with Twins and Artist, even though Twins' can be bypassed - which needs to be fixed) and balance the killer around that with the anti-camping mechanic in mind, than it is to just slap one on a killer that's already existed for a while without one. It would also be a much bigger deal for a killer like bubba, whose power involves an instadown at close range, than it is for Artist as no instadown is involved and she can still just place her birds from further away and then still fire them and hit a survivor with them near the hooked survivor - so it's not like she truly has no power near a hook.

Also, since we know we're most likely getting basekit BT or some other kind of related change regardless, it seems silly to even try to change Bubba specifically right now until that mechanic has been implemented first.

You can still use m1 or try a grab

  • They probably won´t change anything substancial.

Watch Coconuts new video - i also think they will try to push things with new perks and powers away from camping and maybe tunneling. But these will stay strong as it is an immense advantage to get somebody out early.

Maybe they should work on making it not necessari to get one out asap. Sure you still would have campers especially bubba but the whole problem would tune down

  • I mean... That would fix only a part of the problem anyway, theres still plenty of characters with good camping potential, people will just move to them if bubba gets nerfed. Pinky finger clown, Iri Head huntress, trickster, trapper with basement, billy, all good at camping too.

  • It’s not that you can still try to hook grab, it’s that a survivor who is being chased (while you had no intention to camp) who is about to go down runs near the hook to avoid being chainsawed, knowing that doing so will prevent an instadown.
