The foundation of Dead by Daylight
It's safe to say at this point in dbds life, it's foundation can no longer hold the weight of everything built on top of it or is being currently built. It is perhaps the sole reason this game is crumbling, why everything has come out so badly. Sure maybe it is the devs being lazy, biased and so on but It is plausible to believe that it is the foundation.
Dead by daylight needs to be remade from the ground up from scratch with the intent of it supporting 10x much more weight than it holds now. Upgrading from a little office to a skyscraper dbd deserves to be if that makes sense. Obviously this would require a lot of resources which I doubt the dbd team will get but if they announced that they were going to rebuild the foundation and halt everything else, then I would be fine with that if it meant fixing everything. I am in no a programmer or game developer but I bet that the poor foundation is at least half the reason why there's so many things wrong with this game, unrelated to balance.
P.s Don't bring NTfs into this, this has nothing to do with that, also this isn't meant to be a hate post towards the devs or bhvr either

The "weight" doesn't have anything to do with it. It's the devs and their decisions alone. The game itself could be hundreds times larger and more complicated and still work like clockwork if the devs set their priorities to this. But instead of working on the game they spend their resources on cosmetics, events and NFT. It's not because they can't, they just don't want to.
By foundation are you referring to the stability of the game ie fixing all the bugs and issues with latency, or are you referring to the number of different killers and Perks that are balanced poorly?
This post is in no way a criticism of the dbd devs and should not be taken as such. It is also not intended to point out any forum rules being violated both of which are understood to be against forum rules.
After Shape, Hag, Doctor, it took too long for them to add more mechanic into the game with Nemesis. No matter how many chapters they add, its only adding perks and Killers that not always happens, makes you feel you play the same thing for 4 years.
Currently with Nemesis, Pinhead, Mika. They constantly adding new mechanics, I think they're on the right way. But we will see what happens next in the future.
He's talking about the game's stability: the crashes, the infinite loading screen, all the bugs.
The game is poorly coded. It was never meant to have a long shelf life, its huge success wasn't something the original devs planned for, and the more that's added into the game, the worse the game's performance gets.
The game cannot continue on like this. It does need to be re-coded from the ground up.
The game's problem is basically this: https://zettelkasten.sorenbjornstad.com/#FeaturesWhileTheWorldBurns
BHVR is adding features (new killers, survivors, perks, etc.) while the world burns. Why? Because they're not going to get accolades for re-coding it. They bring in Pinhead, and there are a million articles written, lots of press, money comes in. Fixing the underlying issues? There's no big reward for it. Unfortunately, that means the problems only ever get worse.
I agree @dbd900bach this game is slowly crumbling
The amount of hackers
Things that don't work right (I.E bugs, the new Totem situation taken out certain map offerings but not the map themselves, The Pig's addon Video Tape not working properly and them not taking it out either)
With the way things are going I wouldn't be surprised if this game imploded
This is by no means an attack on the Devs (I know that it takes a lot to make a game and to keep adding stuff to it) this is me sharing my opinion on what has been said
Because by foundation it could mean either or so im clarifying
There are too many quality of life bugs to even count, that the community knows for a fact will never get fixed. With the introduction of boon totems, they didn’t even bother to think of possible synergies with perks or mechanics that should’ve been obvious. They are building a bridge out of popsicle sticks and it’s getting too long.
