Outside of a chase 120% movement speed change
I have a idea in mind and want to hear your opinions. What about giving every killer a 5% movement speed bonus when they are not in chase. But when they start one they get normal to 115%

Honestly something id be hoping for michael since his whole thing was if you didnt directly see him in the movies he could pop out from anywhere. Definitely not for other killers though. 120% nurse? Nope.
That wouldn't do much. The 5% speed difference is mostly impactful in a chase - out of it you're only saving a few seconds.
What if a killer moonwalks behind a survivor to catch up with the 120% movespeed without triggering chase (and therefore dropping back to 115%)?
Make it based on survivor proximity instead of in/out of chase?
What if a survivor is stealthing successfully near the killer, and the killer now realizes a survivor is close because their movespeed dropped?
You can't base anything substantive off chase mechanics. That's how we got Legion.
Just play Wraith. That's his whole thing is being faster out of a chase
*laughs in pigs who will chase me while looking down until i die by rbt* i hate it...so much...
that wouldn't really do anything
5% is only substantial in a chase. in 15 seconds, it'll give you 3 extra meters of distance
that's super nice in a chase, but being 3 meters farther than you would be normally isn't gonna do anything for getting around the map. at most, you'll be in lunge range for some doof commiting to a 98% gen where you wouldn't be without it. but otherwise, wouldn't have any impact at all.
killers would moonwalk chases then
I've had this idea before the issue is they could exploit it my moonwalking so it would have to work like bloodlust after x amount t of time out of chase it would activate
Idk apparently the devs think 10% I'd a big enough idea for a rework for clown
Moonwallk killer meta to cheese that mechanic into the chase would happen. Also 5% does very little in terms of map traversal, it's mainly important in chase.
although I couldn't give less of a ######### for clown's rework, they didn't intend for the antidote to be a mobility tool, it was supposed to be a chase tool and it works as such. 10% bonus ms is nice in chase. if you're using it for mobility, you are using it incorrectly.
If you want to be faster outside of chase then just use Play With Your Food, there's no need to be faster as base kit.
Yeah, I remember the days of the pre-rework Legion moonwalking with Franks Mixtape and Bloodhound... ooof!
if it was based on proximity than whispers would be completely useless, because good killers would know someone is nearby as they've slowed down.
I know it's a 5% difference but when people figure out what "slightly increases" means you know they'd find a way to utilize it differently than the devs intend
The chase is too absuable. You can just look down and don't start the chase.
No. Moonwalking proved that not being in a chase can't be used as a condition for anything that might be beneficial to killers (and/or harmful to survivors), because it's just too easy to exploit.
I think this is not enough. What about a 250% movement speed in AND out of chases? this would be balanced as good survivors should still be able to play around this. Plus, there's SWF.
I tapped with the idea of a reverse Bloodlust where you gain increasing movement speed the longer you remain out of chase, but it seems to be difficult to implement without having the killer walk backwards during chase just like old legion.
