Why I think SOLO needs to be on Pair with SWF.

Please, before making assumptions based on the title, I'm aware that SWF can be overpowered, specially a 4 stack on voice communication.

As someone who plays mostly solo, then killer and then SWF, from my personal experience SWF has too many advantages. I do not wish to make this a post to remove SWF, but to make the Solo experience on pair with SWF.

I'd like to see SWF and Solo comparable so all killer and survivors perks can be based on only one parameter.

Currently a lot of killer perks that get nerfed, get nerfed because they are overpowered against solo q (example of the undying + ruin combo), Perks similar to this would not need a nerf if everyone playing in SWF.

Survivor perks like DS, BT and UNB can be too much to deal with in a SWF group, making a lot of killers having an issue with it. I do not see it as an issue in solo Q, since as we all know Solo is not coordinated.

By making SWF and Solo comparable, these perks could be adjusted in a way that would make it balanced for SWF but not bad for Solos.

I think this could be achieved by having more information on the HUD like a totem counter, make Kindred Base Kit so Solos can experiment with other perks without feeling the need to have it in their build, etc.

I'd like to know what everyone's opinion is on this. Of course the examples I mentioned could be contra productive, since I'm not aware of how they would work if implemented.

  • Simple debuff to action speeds on swf would be enough. 2,4,6% to start with and adjust accordingly whether the % should be increased or not. Swf is strong due to communication but solo get that through perks like kindred which would mean a lot of perk changes and base information just to begin balancing a solo to that level = more time and effort than a simple debuff

Would that give the debuff only to swf? How would that work in a 3 swf and 1 solo per example? Would me as a solo, also have a debuff when repairing? Would I get that debuff when repairing with one of them?

No only those in the swf would get it. Swf would be shown via a small coloured dot at endgame. (If you have ever played over watch it shows who is grouped together) so if 3 people are together those 3 get 4% debuff but the solo stays as normal. If there are 2 groups of two then everyone gets 2% or if all 4 are in one group then 6% debuff. The game can already tell who’s grouped together as it send you back to your grouped lobby.

So solo survivors would still be hit hard with this, if they get put in a 3men lobby

Not personally no, the other 3 will have the debuff due to the extra info they have. If you give a player like me who plays solo the ability to know who’s where, where the killer is, what pallets are used, where traps are etc. It just allows me to use full on meta perks and extend all chases even more. You cannot balance for weaker players, you just can’t or when you do get 4 good players it’s even more unbalanced. Solo players have everything they need to do well, swf is just easy mode and filled with advantages, swf needs a draw back not buffing to unfair 4v1 style that they can create currently. With good Ranking and a swf debuff people would get placed accordingly. Worst thing atm is less skilful player being at red ranks. For example I have seen rank 2 players who don’t look behind have no idea how to lead on chases or run loops and not sure how to be efficient time wise but then players like me that do know every perk, tile spawns, totems spawns and don’t use meta perks and can still lead on very long chases

Yea they get the debuff but they're still on my team, so it affects me as well. so i could be looping the killer and the other 3 on gens, they have the debuff so I have to loop even longer so they can finish a gen. It affects me.

This is, without a doubt, THE dumbest suggestion I've read on this forum so far, and I've read a lot. And the fact you said this with earnest, is so mind boggling that I cannot express it. That was honestly impressive

Just wait, there'll be more. Punishing players for wanting to have fun with friends isn't the answer. Buffing solo to that level aswell as buffing (specific) killers to compensate is the right direction. Problem is that with how many killer powers and perks there are now it will take an extremely long time.

I would agree with 100% if the game was designed for 4 strangers to try and work together. Linking up with friends isn't quite the issue, it's the use of comms and gaining unearned information.
