NOED Rework Idea

A Hex rooting its power on hope. You are animated by the power of your Hex Totem when the Survivors are on the verge of escaping.

Once the Exit Gates are powered, if there is a Dull Totem remaining on the Map, this Hex is applied to it.

While Hex: No One Escapes Death is active, Survivors can be Killed by your hand and your Movement speed is increased by 2/3/4%.

The Hex effects persist as long as the related Hex Totem is standing.

"And the beast became faster and more powerful as if The Entity's shadowy whips were lashing at its back."

I feel like this is a nice middle ground by giving the perk a strong end game scenario, but it also keeps it incredibly deadly. Let me know what you think.

  • No.

    Just No.

NoEd is fine as is. If it is activated, the fault totally lies in the hands of the Survivors. They have the choice to rush gens and risk NoEd or JuSt Do BoNeS!

It’s not hard, and with the new undying/ruin meta, Survivors should bring in a map, Detectives Hunch or Small game.

Killers don’t have anywhere near as many second chance perks as Survivors do, stop trying to get them nerfed.

    Bring a Rainbow Map.

Don't have any? Map with Red Twine.

Don't have any? Dedicate a slot to Detective's Hunch.

Don't have Tapp/Shrine is giving junk? Dedicate a slot to Small Game.

Can't dedicate a slot? Better start learning those totem spawns.

You were cleansing Totems but NOED still triggered? Blame the 3 other Survivors for not doing their part, not the Killers' fault only 1/4th of their opposition attempted to counter their perk.

I get what you're going for and I agree that noed being a hex perk it needs to remain a strong option, but this change would only exacerbate the current problem that people have with noed, mainly being that you get the most use out of it for doing badly the majority of the game. This would be especially bad on killers that already have one shots like Billy and leather face. You'd have no way of knowing that noed was in effect and then all of a sudden your just getting mori'd at least with noeds current form, if your not on death hook or you have ds active, you have a chance to either get away or give your team time to find noeds totem. So I think that if they were to go through with this change it'd be an even worse situation then when they' changed ruin.

NoEd doesn’t reward bad Killers, it punishes lazy Survivors who don’t do anything but tunnel gens.

If the Killer was bad, it should have been easy for the Survivors to cleanse totems.

If the Killer was bad, it should be easy for the Survivors to rescue their teammate that has been downed by NoEd.

A squirrel in knight armor will come into the game....and kill 1 survivor. And we change the perk name to noesk.

Fully approve, S+ rated change devs make this a reality.

  • Why do survivors seem to insist on making me want to think NOED is a powerful perk I should be running? It’s not better than Haunted Ground, stop trying to make me think I should run NOED instead by telling me how good you think it is! 😄

  • Noed’s not that much of a problem anymore. Partly because people have become accustomed to it but also because there are far more annoying and worse things to come across when playing survivor.

Uhh last I checked totems arent required to escape and a killer has lost if they don't protect gens, so wierd take here.

They aren't the main objective, sure. But the secondary one. If you are killed for neglect the secondary objective, the problem is you / your teammate. For the same reason that, if you don't do the optional quest on some games, you will not achieve the "good ending" but the "bad ending".

BTW, killer didn't lost until survivor escape. For survivor is the same. They don't win until they escape.

You don't wanna blame the other 3 survivors? Play a 4-man SWF...

Now, I'm waiting for you to make a similar convo where you defend not nerfing SWFs. After all, it's not the survivors fault if the killer can't counter 4/4th of their opposition.

Yeah but its an objective that if you're only running noed you have no idea you even need to do. If noed had some kind of tell I'd be a lot more okay with it, but as it is now its just hey do this thing that wastes time and doesn't get you any closer to escaping except for the maybe 10% of games where a killer only brought noed. Plus I feel it gives newer killers bad habits as kind of a crutch perk that will usually only get you an extra kill maybe 2 after you've only gotten a few hooks all game and will sometimes get you a 3 or 4k where as if you don't use it you can use perks that will actually help you throughout the entire match and won't teach you to rely on a perk that only comes into play at the end of the game.

DS, UB, SG, DH, BT and much more are the same for survivor. You can't tell they have it until they use it. 2 faces of the same coin.

Maybe this give the killer a bad habit, sure. But, not bringing it will give a bad habit to survivor to not cleanse the totem. Balanced even here.

If the killer only got a few hooks on the game, it means the killer skill level is lower than survivor. And that means survivor have plenty of time for totems. Again, it's survivor fault.

On contrary, if Killer manage to kill everyone without using NOED, it means it's skill level was higher than survivor, and he played with only 3 perk on the whole game. That will let the killer though that maybe it's better to use that perk for something else.

Survivor don't win until they escape. Killer don't win until they are killed. This is the final truth.

Incorrect, the Killer loses when the Survivors escape, not when the gens are completed.

Game is not over if gens get powered.

I mean sure that is technically correct but if gens get powered and you haven't gotten any or only a few, hooks you are relying on survivors to mess up hard to make a comeback with or without noed. It only takes I think 16 seconds to open a gate and not much more time to run to one. So relying on noed is both a crutch and holding people back at the same time. Sure there are plenty of survivor crutch perks as well DS being the biggest offender, imo, but the difference is that there isn't a reason not to bring DS with how the game is played these days, noed on the other hand will likely only get you kills on people worse then you and will lose you the game against people better or even of similar skill as you.

Incorrect, NoEd has helped me kill people better than me, only because they get so confident that they forget it even exists. NoEd only works on Survivors that have tunnel vision and rush gens as fast as possible.

Totems are in the game for a reason - they’re a high risk high reward for both sides, though the reward is higher for Killers and the risk is greater for Survivors. Its fine if you don’t want to cleanse them, just don’t complain about it when it comes back to bite you in the ass when you chose to tunnel gens asap and ignore everything else.

I don’t believe NoEd is a crutch, and definitely nowhere near as a crutch as DS and Unbreakable. DS and Unbreakable reward Survivors for bad plays and punish Killers for playing well. The Killer basically has a lose/lose situation when those perks are in play, whereas NoEd is completely controlled by Survivors.

How can NoEd be a crutch perk when it actually makes the match more difficult for the Killer since they would essentially be playing with a three perk handicap throughout 90% of the match? It isn’t, it’s an endgame perk that Survivors forget about and aren’t willing to adapt to.

Even if the Killer only gets kills because of NoEd, it doesn’t mean they’re bad, it means anyone who falls to it is bad. For if the Killer was bad, the Survivors would have had plenty of time to cleanse totems throughout the match. If the Killer was too oppressive and you didn’t have time to cleanse, then the Killer was doing a good job and deserved to Kill you.

You have got to be kidding me right, like this is text book entitled killer. You baiting me man.

No, I’m not. I play 80% of my games as Survivor. It’s my preferred role, I’m just honest about NoEd. If I die due to it, it’a due to my teams inability or refusal to do totems.

The game provides multiple counters to NoEd, it’s just that the majority of Survivors are bad, which is why Solo is so frustrating. It has nothing to do with NoEd being OP or Killers being too strong (Except for Nurse/Spirit/Iridescent Huntress). The only OP thing that Killers need to have nerfed are Moris, which thankfully are being looked into.
