Blight's quite fun and Hex: Undying has revitalized Hex meta and it's great!

I have now been playing the new killer Blight for a small good while to be able to give my early opinion on him. He is super fun to play and my new number one favorite killer in the game. His fast mobility is so much fun and he is able to mind-game survivors in a whole new level thanks to his pinball-like behavior that is often hard to predict if matched against skilled blight player who knows each working corner to bounce off from. Mastering him is fun and rewarding feeling.

He is very short klller, so seeing him over fences and objects proves quite difficult for the survivors sometimes, I have noticed. But also, it's even more tough to see the survivors myself when playing him, I often need to trust the blood trail and not my eyesight so tracking perks has proven quite useful on him for me at least.

The new perk "Hex: Undying" which came with the new killer is the crown-jewel of the new killer. It has single handedly revitalized the hex meta, thus allowing hex perks to be used more in builds because players no longer fear that their hex totem gets wiped out off the game before they even got any value out of it. Now the survivors really need to start cleansing totems if they want to counter these builds. Cleansing a dull-totem no longer feels like a waste of time because it counters the undying hex from allowing any hex to be transferred to that totem. It's quite brilliant, an amazing perk overall I think.

What do you guys think about the new killer and hex: undying?

  • I think Undying is a fantastic perk. Undying + Any other hex significantly increases game stall for 2 reasons.

    • 1. The obvious one being that the survivors will either transfer a hex to a dull totem, meaning they still need to find the correct hex. Or they cleanse Undying in which case they STILL need to find the correct hex.
    • 2. When survivors realise Undying is being used it forces them to not ignore dull totems they see.
  • I'm using it in with ruin in the majority of my builds, and the aura reading is pretty spicy as well

  • Watch Hex Ruin get used in 80% of Matches again...

  • It doesn't work with Haunted Ground, or Lullaby, or Devour Hope.

    It's medicore with Third Seal.

It does much the same thing as Thrill and Retribution in protecting totems/punishing their loss.

    Blood Favour is #########.

It hasn't "revitalised hex meta," it JUST protects Ruin even more, and makes NOED harder to prevent.

  • I mean, it's not that great if you look from another prospective. Sure, undying + ruin is gonna be 100% the new meta, the new corrupt + pop. But it's just another band-aid fix to the hex mechanic. Adding perks that solve core game issues isn't very healthy.

Why does it not work with haunted grounds?

  • I've heard it doesn't transfer it since it went live.

  • Undying works with all the Hexes you mentioned. The only thing is Hexes that build stacks need to build their stacks again.

Exactly, and one takes 5 hooks to do anything worthwhile, the other takes 3-5. That's not worth bringing 2 hexes to try to get those stacks when they keep being removed.

Better than it being removed entirely. It’s not like hooks suddenly stop happening after Lullaby or Devour are cleansed.

  • How does it work with Retribution?

Using a hex perk that is beneficial to cleanse does not buff noed if anything using undying raises the chance that all dull totems will get cleansed as they try to find undying and to prevent it from transferring hexes.

the best use for this perk is ruin i can agree on that but noed with undying and ruin is not going to work out most of the time especially if they just cleanse every totem spotted like a good team should.

We saw that ruin overperformed so we nerfed it to 50%/75%/100% regression.

  • It does have another side effect.

If survivors learn to expect it then they shouldn't jump on a totem before a gen anymore even if its lit due to it showing their aura. Once they know another is in a chase they can then cleanse it giving the killer a choice. Leave the chase to protect it wasting more time or let the totem be destroyed.

I feel like this is the biggest meta shift in a while. Killers finally have a new meta, that while not necessary for a lot of killers will give weaker killers a much easier time. But survivors sort of do two with that Cheryl perk and detectives hunch/small game.
