We should make the game easier for new survivors... but not for new killers?

That was the main "issue" about the ruin nerf, right? it was hard and "frustrating" for new survivors, since it was too hard for them to lift the butt from the generator and go look for a totem, and you want to lower the barrier, which, don't get me wrong, I think it's ok, but why punish new killers? They'll get gens done in no time and they still don't have the skill to apply enough pressure. That would frustrate them and won't play killer anymore.

Good killers are good without ruin, and will also get genrushed. New killers have nothing to work with, other that maybe NOED to save some of the bad games.

Devs, are you sure you thought this through? Is there ANOTHER thing about gen times that we're not aware of? are you releasing or reworking the times themselves or adding a new early mechanic we're not aware of?

Thanks.

  • They thought, and once again, they ignored the side of things.

Killers aren't supposed to have fun.

They are to supposed to act as AI to entertain survivors.

  • I think they did not thought about the change. There are way more issues they have to keep in mind to balance the game. And I am talking about a fair balance between survs and killers. RIght now the changes are ridiculous.

I tried to sum up the problem here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/119866/ruin-gen-speed-adressing-the-elephant-in-the-room#latest

  • Thing is, to make the life of new Killers better, they would need to revert the SWF-Matchmaking so that new Killers actually find games. And not find a game after 40 minutes with a group of Red Ranks, because that was the match that was available after 40 minutes.

But this is not gonna happen, because this would just show that it was a huge mistake to change SWF-Matchmaking.

  • I'm sure somewhere the stats show that survivor players buy more cosmetics than killers so why focus on the people not bringing in cash?

  • Cause.... First... We assume Match Making works as intended.

The new killer would be playing new survivors. In a 20 + minute match, the killer doesn't have to worry about a gen rush, cause nobody is doing anything.

  • Yeah I don't really buy the change being for new players. My son lasted a week before giving up on the game because he couldn't get matches as killer. Also, seasoned survivors that have more than likely spent a ton of money on this crap with dlc and cosmetics still wait over 10 minutes for a game.

  • New survivors don't genrush, they get off gens the second they hear a heartbeat.Chances are they are not on a gen even if they are not chased

  • Our community needs a big boom. Something that'll bring in casuals and competitives, horror and non-horror. We need to expand our fanbase, instead of "fixing" old things like ruin. It's just a mindless cycle.
