Why not add a new system, as in a new role?
There have been issues where the killer has been camping the sacrificial hooks or chasing one specific survivor in the trial until they have been killed. That could be changed by adding a new system called the opposing-killer system. A whole new role that is based purely on defence and support the survivors for there escape. The opposing-killer is a survivor that is willing to sacrifice his own life for the others. This role could also lead to more characters as well. The opposing-killer(O.K) will be able to engage in combat against the killer with a weapon of their own. Of course the killer will not be able to die but the O.K. will be. The O.K. will have an ability of their own and won't be able to hold any items other then their weapons. The O.K. will not be able to sabotage traps or hooks nor be able to help repair generators. When engaged in combat it will be using regular attacks. When the killer is hit 2-3 times they are stunned for a short period of time. The O.K. will be able to interact with survivors by unhooking them or helping them recover. That's not all, if all four survivors have escaped or killed the killer will be able to be 'knocked down.' It's like a mori but for the O.K. when the killer is stunned the O.K. will have 2 options, to escape or knock down the killer. Knocking the killer down will result in a large amount of blood points but will also result in all exits closing.

I like the idea, but your execution isn't ideal. Instead, have one survivor out of the four be given additional options to mess with the killer, and make it REALLY HARD. Maybe something like this survivor has 3 health states but can be Mori'd instantly when downed. This survivor also cannot stay injured for an extensive amount of time, or they will go down a health state. This survivor cannot repair gens, unhook, or heal other survivors. It can't be too powerful, but should also be beneficial to the survivor team if used correctly.
I understand why would think this as a reasonable change to this idea but the purpose of the O.K. being a separate role is so the O.K. wont have a job any easier than the killer's. The killer has to kill four survivors while the O.K. would have to guard 3 of them making it a easy job. Killing the O.K. would have no benefits other then the survivors having no protector. Now i understand that the concept of having to kill 5 survivors would also make the job more difficult but that is the point, to make the killer's job more difficult. But we can make a small change to the concept by making the rule that if all survivors have been killed then the O.K. would be instantly killed by the entity, like a mission failed. If the killer starts up an endgame than the O.K. would then be converted to a regular survivor but with no perks or items.
The game isnt nearly balanced well enough for this to be a possability... and frankly it would just enhance killer frustrations to a whole new height..plus its be too easy to make chain stains against the killer..way too powerful even for old nurse with busted addons
Yes but survivors are also having problems against the killer every couple of matches. We can change it to the killer has to take four hits to be stunned and the O.K. can be knocked in 2 hits and can be instantly mori like fallen loser suggested. The idea a new role could possibly scramble the balance issues making the survivors escape too easy but there are few killers that are made to avoid detection or others that are more of a brute. If this role was added to Dead by Daylight the chances of matches being onesided but there are ways to balance the game. I understand that most problems reported in Dead by Daylight about the survivor role are mostly because of frustrated players or their lack of skill or both. This new role is mean to solve issues like camping, tunneling, etc and even issues with allied players that would prefer leaving their team mates left for dead or refusing to help their team mates in anyway possible.
The problem is killers are already in a large disadvantage overall and this would make the balance we have go straight to hell man..
You starting to get my attention but does the killer have to deal with camping survivors all the time. Can you list the disadvantages the killer has against the survivors that are crucial and makes the winning side mostly on the survivor's side.
Perks like ds and bt..an overabundance of safe pallets , god windows, maps being too large to pressure them properly , certain killers lacking sufficient tools to make plays , The best killer perks being hexes which are not very well designed as a whole , etc etc
The reason that most perks for the killer are not so good is because they usually are not used in a match because they are brought into the match but for wrong occasions. The rest I understand. I will see a way to redesign this concept that will make it both benefit the killer and survivors.
Funny you should say that. Survivors are indeed camping all the time. They camp gens, totems, pallets, windows and hooks.
I don't even understand why survivors would do that actually. Im going to have to think this whole role through again.
