My definition of Tunneling

You continue chasing a survivor even though you can hear or see a generator near completion.

You chase the unhooked survivor despite having other injured survivors who would also be an easy down nearby. (unless there are still a lot of survivors alive with 1 or 2 gens left, then i understand.) If the other survivors are healthy then eh fine i guess. Has some logic behind it at least.

Only ever downing one survivor even though there are other injured survivors nearby.

Chasing 1 survivor for WAAAY to long and getting gen rushed because of it.

  • I believe the rulebook states tunneling is the act of chasing a survivor longer than they feel warranted.

eh. i believe tunneling is just chasing a survivor so much that you ignore literally every other survivor and generator.

I bet you think camping is staying near the hook too.

According to Chapter 5: On Survivor-Killer relationship tunneling can be defined as:

    • The act of downing a survivor more than one time in a single trial
    • The act of chasing a survivor even after a pallet stun
    • The act of chasing a survivor without explicit consent

Note that consent can be revoked at any time.

Yep, here's the actual text. I was more or less paraphrasing.

Killer encounters a survivor and chases them.

Survivor: Woah woah woah! You've been chasing for 5 whole seconds?! That's TuNnElLiNg!!

  • My definition and by far the most common form of tunneling is pretty simple. It’s when a killers strategy is to hook a survivor, and basically never leave a certain range of the hook...aka proxy camp. No matter what they are doing, as soon as they see someone going towards the hook or the unhook notification, they will drop everything and make a beeline back to the hook to go after the unhooked guy again. It’s basically camping but done so in more of a bait style.
