So you're a Killer. You go up against another SWF with flashlights.

They wait until you go into an animation in which you lose control of your character - such as breaking a pallet, or picking a downed player up...... and it is this precise moment, when you cannot control your character, they aim the flashlight at you and stun you. This is a broken game mechanic in my opinion.

    -------------------

If I cannot control my character while I wait for the animation to end, then I should not be stunnable until I regain control of my character.

    -------------------

This is one small "buff" you can give to Killers, that in my opinion, should already be part of the core game. It makes no sense to force a player into an animation that they lose control of their character, and they cannot look away from the flashlight, but yet they are still stunnable by said flashlight. The game should make the Killer immune to flashlight UNTIL the animation is over and the player regains control of their character.

So they have a fighting chance at looking away. This ONE change alone would fix a lot of the flashlight abuse going on, where SWF survivors are hanging around their downed teammate, waiting for you to go into the animation of picking him up, and then you get to just sit there and watch them run up to you and stun you.

Absolutely agree. Especially picking up a downed player. Its face camping

I play Solo survivor all the time. I don't really have complaints. Yeah sometimes survivors are bad or selfish, but it's not all the time and doesn't trigger me.

What really upsets me is when I'm killer vs a SWF team that abuses me with flashlights or other stuff. It's the king of unfun, triggering experience that makes me want to uninstall sometimes. It really sucks that SWF and flashlights is a thing.

Yeah i know what you mean. I got blocked and torched spammed on my first down. I just take the disconnect and watch tv until time passes. They are a waste of time. Pity, it was a fast down so i wasnt guna hook them anyway. Just note their names and if you see their names in lobby just leave dude. The beauty of being killer

If a Protection Hits are seriously bothering you could try the Forced Penance perk which makes the blocker Broken for 80 seconds. That’s a good amount of time to catch up to them again where they are still injured because they couldn’t heal.

Thanks for the tip. Il try that

  • Scratch that. Trolls would thumbs up. How do i delete this

  • Fair enough. But a killer can stream snipe a survivor streamer. They need to do something about trolls. Its really getting me down. I follow all the rules and play fair. And i back off beginners and dont attack at the gate.

I can tell I've played all of the 4vs1 (or 5+vs1) survival games and know what lobby looks like in them, but only in Dead by Daylight survivors are completely blind to the killer account before the match starts.

It's ok survivors don't see what killer has been chosen by the player. It's ok, the game hides killer's perks and add-ons until the end of the game, but to be honest for me it's completely useless, since you need only 1-2 minute from the start of the match to determine all of the perks killer is using if you're playing in a team.

But why did you decide to hide the killer account/nickname? It's not fair for others, the killer can fully examine you before the match (and leave the lobby without penalty of course), or be very toxic to you because in the previous match you've survived or played like a pro. For example, for the last few weeks I see half of the killers have VACs and ingame bans, and they fully deserve it since they were playing very toxic and suspected hacking during the match.

I'm not asking you why your Easy Anti-Cheat engine blind to private cheats everyone can obtain for a few bucks. I'm not asking you why your support is so slow to respond and your ingame reporting system looks like it's not working. I'm asking you why you are not letting us be a second shield against these players? If I see a player with a fresh account, 30 hours of DbD and 100% of achievements I don't want to play with him. If I see a player with a VAC/ingame ban I don't want to play with him. If I see a player with a good Steam account and 2000 hours of DbD I want to play with him since it's a true challenge.

As killer player only ive been trolled bad so i keep a list of names. If i see them i leave lobby. Yes i agree, you should see killers name so you can do the same. Absolutely. But hiding the killer character might help build the atmosphere so it gives you a fright at first sight. Good luck out there. Hope they at least change it so you see names

Boring is their middle name. These dudes will literally sit perfectly still for hours on end to keep you hostage in a match. Its not about fun for them, its about ruining other peoples experience.

Ive discovered a new tactic . Once i realise i have a troll i pretend to have tech issue, walk in to an object twitch a freeze, make it look legit. then take the dc penalty. They dont get the satisfaction of thinking its a rage quit and i watch anime till penalty is done. Take care players

  • Thanks. Il keep it in mind

Thumbs down should never be added as people would simply thumbs down good players or if their opponent used a killer/perk they disliked.

I guess so. But at least a thumbs up would be good. Im usually greeted by players at the gate because i strictly follow the survivor rules and never single out weak players. I never attack at the gate. Would be good to play them again at random times more often. (Just worked out how to reply directly😀)

  • Oh thanks. Il be careful not to anger them in future.

  • Sorry. Not sure what you mean by hostage

  • My strategy for hackers is the same for trolls. Ghost them. Make it boring for them

  • Just remember only dud players hack. play your game and try to let it go. Hopefully they do get a report system for it though.

  • More players there means on average it might happen more. Thats all. Just play your game dont let bad killers get to you. Im a killer only. I know the survivors rules

  • I only play killer and yes it should be reported. First offence should be a friendly warning incase its a new player who doesnt know. Play in character and by the rules and everyone has a good time. No camping or tunnelling, and once gens are done its over. I back off.

  • Please dont take your anger on all killers because of the duds. I only play killer and never camp or tunnel, even if i see a survivor nearby i look straight at them and take off. And once gens are done its game over, i back off. Havnt had a kill for a while but dont care. I have fun. Survivors respect it. Win win

  • Being killer for sure is more fun. You only have one job and you have control over the whole atmosphere of the game. Get into character, follow good manners and everyone has a blast

  • Dont give up. Im a killer only and try to create a good atmosphere for survivors, get in character etc. If i see a player who obviously struggles or looks alone i just give them a good scare and back off. There are others like me. Hope you find them.

  • As killer main when survivors point and nod at the end i know what it means. Or a front on crouch. Survivors are a crack up if you give them a good time. id love to be able to point or shake my head if they have disrespected me thats all.

  • Yup. I started a few months ago, got a few team kills, a momento mori. Got trolled a lot. Then i decided to just mess with survivors, put on a show, scare the hell out of them. They loved it. Some call it farming but im not. its the best fun. I dont care bout points now. Havnt killed for a while, only hook torch spammers and twirkers as a warning. They usually stop. This means i mostly match with low skill survivors but i just give them a good scare. I make my curtain call at the gate and am swamped by nods and offerings. If the killer is not in character whats the point, just go play roblox or something soft. This is the best horror game.

  • Sorry you copped that. As a survivor the only thing i learned was how not to be a killer. Im now a killer main, its more fun. I get the point of the game but when i see a survivor struggle i cut them a break. And i make sure they know it. Dont let bad ones ruin it for you. Survivors just want to play and have a good scare and a challenge. For me its more important to entertain them than get points
