yeah, I was a rank 6 a few months back. got 3/4 of the killers at lvl 50 and beyond. I use what I assume is powerful perks. But yeah, if killer is getting shafted then it happens I guess.
-
Yeah. But in my experience, what is a meta perk other than someone showing people a devastating way to use it? Like, all it takes is a streamer to use a perk with a killer well and tell people its awesome and just like that, its a meta perk. Don’t get too wrapped up in that.
As to saying someone is bad if they depip as survivor, thats not realistic. All it takes is losing a chase even after looping for 3-5 minutes, getting hooked and the other 3 people let you die on first hook. Or you start the game, some one gets chased and 2-3 minutes into the game you get a gen done and that person disconnect on first down. Then another person disconnects right after. You get in a chase, even 6000 points pf boldness and 1 gen is still a depip. But maybe its different on pc. I play on ps4.
but yeah, kling. Playing multiple killers is nice. Helps you form a lot of strategies in a general sense of playing killer.

Xerge. I am not sure I have seen that very much? Does that happen often? Sounds like a NOED disaster after getting gen rushed.

Cool beans. Billy is decent. I will concede he has fallen off a little on ps4, but ya still see him. The spirit fury/enduring combo is decent but it will be somewhat map dependent as there are some maps that rely less on pallets than others. But the chainsaw can be very hard at times. Try using it to mind game a little bit with the intent of M1 someone. Or just use it to travel and then chase people down. If you find a powerful looper, leave them and look for another person. Even 4 man swf teams rarely have 4 people that are strong loopers. Remember people who tea bag and such are trying to frustrate you and get you to chase. Use that as a reminder that you should break off and put pressure on gens. Perk wise I am a fan of the ones like nurse's calling thanatophobia, sloppy butcher. I like injuring people and having it have severe penalties so if I injure someone a break off the chase it has more of an impact. May I also suggest that any perks that give map information are also good for billy such as discordance, bitter murmur and such.
I am approaching red ranks soon. I am currently enjoying ghost face, pig, myers, wraith, spirit, freddy and soon, the hag. So there are other options if you have any of em leveled up. I do play the trapper basement build from time to time still but not as often. Many swf teams struggle with that build because they can't stand to let any of their allies get into the struggle or die for the sake of rushing gens. Its using their bond as a weakness. It works very well.
May I also suggest watching some you tube vids on killer games. Mainly focusing on mind games for loops. It seems obvious, but it is always good to see what others are doing to deal with these issues.

Hey, y'all. Tunneling someone out is one option. And it can bring a game to even ground in some cases. I suppose I want to know what killers you are playing? What perks and add ons do you like to use? Do you find you are stuck in chases too long? Have you tried breaking off from chases if they go beyond 45+ seconds?
There are a lot of factors involved in this game and its hard to break it down to simply, are you good enough or not. I myself have been destroyed by swf in 5-6 minutes, but I have also killed 3-4 people in a swf game where people were 3 ranks higher than me. Depends. Would love to discuss.

Thats actually a pretty interesting idea. My brother and I may give it a few tries.

I would say the big disconnect in this game is the large spectrum of players and experiences. Example, some people are bringing a team with 3-4 tool boxes, and are on comms and such. In this case even with freddy add ons and gen slowing abilities, you are about to have a game on your hands. A hectic one at that. But if you are someone thats red or purple ranks, you are by yourself, maybe you have a rank 14 thrown into the game and you get rank 3 freddy with all the bells and whistles, your chances of getting a negative 1 are pretty high, in my experience of course. At this point I am in the camp that you need to just realize that playing certain killers sometimes means modifying your tactics. This is a harder thing for people to do than most realize. But for instance, against him, perhaps you have to take stealth very seriously and also take your time as its going to be a long game so pallets are more valuable. I find it interesting for challenges like that as if every killer was easy to defeat and I could use the same tactics on all of them, what is the point of playing the game, right? So I think if people approach the game with that mind set, everyone gets better at the game and as a whole games are more challenging, varied and enjoyable. Excited to hear other thoughts and opinions!

Can you explain how you set the tournament up, Brody?
-
How do you run a dbd tournament on ps4? Like going about organizing players and setting up matches.
-
May I ask how you run a dbd tournament on ps4?

I was unaware of all of these. Because if someone told me that i would think they are messing with me.
My rules:
#1 kill them all.

Well thanks y'all for the tips. That you tube video was rough. Jeez. I did a little experiment of lobby dodging last night and it worked amazingly. Got teams that were very decent but not insanely coordinated. I also started trapping certain areas that had a decent grouping of generators and stuck to them late game so that I didn't have to be all over the map once they got 2-3.
I have been running NOED for a few days now, and that combined with starting to set traps at the exit switches to buy me time once 4 generators are complete has been super helpful.
I will say this, lobby dodging feels kinda silly, but I am gonna do it here and there for two reasons:
A person plays a game to have fun. I do not have fun against these crazy SWF teams and dodging can allow me to avoid wasting my time. Weather that is because the game mechanics are imbalanced or I am bad is not relevant.
There is no real punishment for dodging lobbies so there is no real reason not to. Strangers can insult me or call me names for doing it, but I could care less about that. So if it makes me a garbage killer, well I am gonna be a garbage killer that is having a blast putting people in the uncle bad touch basement and having fun.
I feel my skills/attitude will change over time once I am able to level up more killers and have a wider range of teachable perks as well. I would love to have the Ruin Hex on trapper or really anyone. I also like Bamboozle and some of the nurse perks. I feel that allows a lot more flexibility with killers.
Once again, I appreciate the info, people. Any other tips or advice is always welcome, especially regarding my main Saturday night thing, The Trapper.

Well damn. That kinda paints this game in a whole new light. So like, should I just play as survivor and wait and see if they balance this stuff out?
-
It only really feels kind of odd because at that point there is no real fear of the killer. Doesn't a survivor team get kinda annoyed that the game mechanics allow them to do that so easily so that the killer isn't really that scary?

Oh, honestly, I didn’t even know there was a report option, haha.KaNGoL said:The only downside, is on console you get reported by salty losers, which can prevent you from playing other games.
I agree with everything said, however. You are SUPPOSED to play for fun, but the salty players make it hard to enjoy. -
Putting a bear trap at the hatch is pretty priceless though. 😁

So this statement stood out to me. And as I play survivor with my friends, i am primarily a killer player. So yes, I have since the original post, done some face camping. I have also done some sweet sweet tunneling. Its been good. Honestly though, I really have found camping to be largely ineffective against better survivor teams. You camp and the other survivors grab 3 generators. I have also seen so beautiful plays done to protect an unhooked player. Perhaps the people you are playing with need to focus on objectives and teamwork more? Do you find a lot of people don’t spend their time wisely when another survivor is being camped?feffrey said:oh wow another Face camping tunneling killer is born
