  • That's honestly ridiculous...

I really hate the new match making system. The old one had problems but not as many as the new one does. It makes the game really hard when there's huge gaps in ranking, plus it kinda takes the point out of ranking if random ranks are just gonna be thrown together.

    "balance"

This word you say. I do not think it means what you think it means.

I know it's a little inconceivable but I actually do understand what balance means! Removing loops entirely from the game would just make it easier for killers to achieve victory and harder for survivors to escape, thus removing the small balance that loops add to the game.

I highly doubt replacing god loops with manageable loops would destroy "balance" for any besides people who rely on these loops heavily.

Sorry, I was under the assumption that you just wanted these loops removed entirely rather than kept but made slightly less awful. In that case I agree with you, they need to be kept, but definitely reworked.

  • They aren't removing these because removing some of them would be taking away balance.

No, it's never too early for the bright players who understand very little of game balance or design to say killers suck. Just look at reworked Fredward! He sucks like everyone said he was gonna suck right? /s

Damn is all that attitude really needed for your reply?? lolol

"bRigHt pLaYeRs" would understand that everything said right now could possibly change and be reworked. We don't know how powerful or not the new killer and perks will be during the PTB and especially when it finally releases. We really don't know how it will be, and making ignorant assumptions and saying "iT SuCkS LiKe EvErYoNe sAiD" isn't really helping. Wait until PTB and release, then you can complain, okay?

We already have Freddy who can teleport directly to the offending generator being repaired. And this Dema-whatever monster lunge attack absolutely sucks because players will simply learn to make sharp turns. This Killer sucks.

I feel like it's a little too early to determine if this killer will suck or not.

Ok, have you actually watched the show? Because what you're saying is like saying "It'd be fine for Michael Myer's power to be disguising himself with a sheet, because he did that once in the movie."

It wouldn't make it faithful to the character, nor a valuable representation of the movie's lore.

I honestly have to say you're wrong. I just rewatched all of Season 1 yesterday and the Demogorgon's power in the game is pretty faithful to the portrayal in the show. He makes portals in the show around where he smells blood. Take for instance the scene in which the Demogorgon takes the deer's body. It created a portal in a nearby tree and went through the Upside Down into our world and took the deer. Or when it attacked Nancy and Johnathan later on in the first season, they cut their hands and the Demogorgon made a portal to crossover right to where they were. It's very accurate to the show, I really can't see how you're saying it isn't.

  • Although NOED is kind of a crutch, it literally has the easiest counter play. While NOED has the potential to reward Killers who have failed at their objective (and make good Killers all the more challenging to face), I see the perk as mostly being a punishment to Survivors. I've noticed a lot of people talking about second objectives being added into the game, well I have one for you, DO TOTEMS. If NOED activates, that means that (obviously) the Survivors failed to cleanse all the hex totems on the map. As mad as I get when I see the exposed status effect at the end of the match, I know that the first person I have to blame for that is myself and my teammates.

Although I see how Adrenaline can be considered a crutch, it's literally only a one time use perk and the haste status effect doesn't even last that long. Adrenaline rewards the Survivor for surviving the entire match and making it to endgame. If you're gonna complain about how unfair it is because of, "all the hard work put in to chase them", you probably weren't working that hard if all the gens were completed. (Or maybe you got 3 of the other Survivors and shut the hatch as that one guy has been suggesting. In this case, Adrenaline is more of a come back perk. Besides, do you think that Adrenaline really has the potential to save that last remaining Survivor? If you got all 3 and shut the hatch, Adrenaline or not, the chance of Survivor #4 escaping is pretty low lol.)

Personally, I don't run either of these perks, I think running endgame based perks is a bit of a waste and they take the spots of perks that could be used multiple times per match rather than just once or under one specific scenario.

I'm gonna end this by saying that, maybe both perks are a little bit of a crutch. I've mostly noticed that weaker/less skilled Survivors or Killers usually are the ones running Adrenaline or NOED. Both perks have the potential to save the game for a player who might of lost, or make the game an absolute victory for players already on the verge of winning. Are both perks fair? Yes, abolsutely. Should either be nerfed or removed from the game? No, absolutely not. No matter the side, the main objective of the game is to have fun, so my advice is to play the game using the perks that are most fun for you. If other players running these perks makes the game unfair for you, then I suggest finding a different game to play.

  • i really hate the new system where the whole entire match is cancelled if just one person disconnects during match making :((( It's unfair considering how the wait time for finding lobbies usually is longer, at least in my experience

@marching_hyena The original Moonlight Offerings imposed on the developers very intense balancing efforts, because for each new map created they had to study not only the basic brightness, but also the four variations (two increments and two reductions) related to the offerings. A bit like the old Tinkerer, it was really difficult to carry on this "immense workload of additional coding" for every innovation in the game, not to mention, I repeat, that there are also maps without the light of the moon. It was absolutely right the developers' decision to stop this extra work.

However, the Moonlight Offerings in themselves are very cool, in design and conception, and certainly deserve to be reborn from the ashes, like the Phoenicians. Well, the hatch has never been interested in either perks or offerings or add-ons in these three years of play: it would be very useful, to revive the strategies with new variables, to introduce the changes explained in the opening post, which are consistent with the historical tradition of the Moonlight Offerings, but at the same time easy to implement (I think of add-ons to darken the Bear Traps, for example...).

As much as I honestly love your idea about reviving the offerings with a new mechanic, I'm still left a little upset by the fact that the developers so easily removed a feature of the game that caused them a little extra work. With all the people playing the game, and I'm sure an expanse of their dev team, I really wish this extra work would be put back into it. Not to mention, isn't there literally only 1 map w/o the light of the moon?

As I said though, I still like your idea a lot, and hope that the devs do bring back moonlight offerings (in some way, shape, or form). Thanks for replying to my comment!

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Removing these offerings was a lazy thing to do - they should rework them and still leave them in the game. Offerings overall are just plain bad and in my opinion most of them has to be changed to be more useful.

I literally could not agree more...

It makes me sad that such a cool and unique offering was removed because the devs couldn't have been bothered to fix it properly. I know it was bugged or something, but they should have fixed it. It's sad that some things that were designed to add uniqueness to the game were removed, resulting in making each match seem just a little more similar and undifferentiated.

The original idea and mechanic of the moonlight offering was SOOOO cool and I really, REALLY wish that, as the game becomes more popular and as dedicated servers are added, that the devs will hopefully reconsider adding these offerings back into the game! (also, I really miss hearing the wolf howl at the start of each map ;c )

You're completely correct, this was a viable counterplay to Nurse at high ranks about a year ago. However, with the addition of the Saw chapter, they made it possible for Nurses to cancel their blinks by aiming at the floor, a technique used by practically all high rank Nurses. If they reverted this change, neither her add-ons nor her base power would have to be changed.

Ah I see, I didn't know that. Thanks for the reply!

  • Now, I don't want to sound like the, "YoUrE WRoNg, NurSe is FiNe, SToP CrYiNg" people who usually respond to posts like these, but it does concern me a little whenever I see people calling for a nerf for Killers. First off, I'm a Survivor main, I don't really play Killer at all. Additionally, I'm not a rank 5 or lower Survivor (I usually play around rank 15), so I don't know how powerful a red rank Nurse is. However, I've always found Nurse easy to counter. When in a chase and she blinks, just start running towards where she originally blinked from. It's possible (at least around my rank) to mind game her to get her to use her blink which can be used to create more distance between you and her. I've done this many times and I've usually been successful in avoiding a blink attack and getting away. In addition to her fatigue, this is a perfect form of counter play to the Nurse. As I said previously, I don't know how strong a red rank Nurse is, and I don't know if my "strategy" would work for the red ranks.

The Predator (yaoutja) do not hunt prey that don’t have weapons.

Also the fact they are an alien species make them highly unsuitable for DBD.

Well it could be a "Bad Blood" predator (like from the comics). It could have been banished and/or arrested/killed by the good, code following Predators due to how vicious and unfair of a killer the Bad Blood was. The extreme blood thirst of the Bad Blood could have attracted the Entity's attention. The Entity could offer the Bad Blood something it couldn't refuse, more prey and trophies, and of course it wouldn't refuse.

  • As much as I love the idea, I really wouldn't want to see a new Killer that's basically just a Wraith clone. I think the Thermal Vision aspect would really be cool though!

  • I'd love to see a Chapter where, instead of 1 Killer and 1 Survivor,,,, I'd love to see us get a chapter of multiple Survivors or Killers. For example, I'd love to see a Chapter where the cast of Until Dawn is added (with maybe a fitting cosmetic for the Hag, considering she's sort of a Wendigo).

Ellen Ripley (and possibly Amanda Ripley) would also be SUPER fun! Considering both are engineers (I think? correct me if I'm wrong please) it'd be cool to see more survivors added with perks moreso focusing on generator repairing.

I really hope they ditch the, "the Killer needed to be human at one point" thing because with that view point, they're getting rid of the possibility of having a lot of really cool Killers being added into the game :( I'd love if the Xenomorph (which could literally just be called, "The Alien") would be added, I think that'd be an absolutely terrifying addition into the game.

Additionally, I agree that some classic Universal monsters should be added (especially since most of them were once human). I'd love to see a werewolf Killer added into the game, preferably similar in design to the werewolves from Dog Soldiers. It could have a cool special ability which could allow him to start sprinting at full speed towards Survivors.

  • I'm kinda disappointed that it seems like the devs were like, "the players are using the Killer's ability differently than we expected,,,, WE MUST NERF!!!". Legion honestly used to be fun to play against when he was first released. They were a genuinely scary killer to play against and I felt accomplished whenever I survived a match against them. It's disappointing to me that devs are making some Killers useless because of genuine player strategies that the devs didn't consider when making the chatacter. Having Killers that could be played in a few different strategies added diversity and uniqueness to each match played. Not to mention, it's equally disappointing and frustrating seeing, for example, players who played an end-game based Piggy get punished and nerfed when camping is still an issue that literally has no counter play and nothing major is ever done to fix that.

  • The Wraith is definitely inspired by the Predator. He's got the cloaking ability and his perks focus around tracking and increased vision (heck, one of the perks is even named Predator).

  • why dont they just remove the option to DC from the pause menu altogether? i dont see the point of it being there if someone can risk punishment for simply using it.
