adrenaline shouldnt be touched. it’s absurd how killers have everything their ways and survivors cant have decent stuff or fair gameplay. since 2022 it isn’t even funny to watch survivor content creators because they cant do the funny stuff they used to do. also watching killer content creators isn’t funny because you know they’re winning 95% of the time
-
Adrenaline shouldn’t be changed. That was uncalled for and unnecessary.
DS is whatever because i dont care for perks that are disabled in endgame or because of conspiscuous actions
-
i must play a different game, because the game I play is simply impossible to lose as killer
-
i don’t think being able to heal only in basement and with 30 seconds speed is actually good, but wicked is kind of good. except this and champion of light all new perks are garbage, and most old ones too, which proves my point that BHVR is agaisnt survivors getting value from perks
-
this is not a real thing, if anything most killer perks were buffed
-
you can’t! BHVR thinks survivors cant have value from perks anymore, so everything needs to be useless
-
killers are such cry babies what else can you possibly want? survivors starting the trial at the hook?
-
get over it
-
the oficial BHVR data says that even a 4 man SWF in top 5% MMR only have 48% escape rate. so no, in absolute all configurations of survivor teams and matchmaking killers still have it easier
-
evenwith these changes the perks continue to be useless. i dont think me or my friends would see any value in these “buffs”. perks should be easier to get value from, especially collective perks
-
get good, killers got everything easy and a lot of abusive perks, combos and strategies. this is the only strong thing survivors have
-
and it is ridiculous how they recuse to do something to pubish tunneling
-
I had to quit because of the same thing. They made it impossible for survivors to have fun. Tunneling is out of hand, killers have too much power and survivor role is absolutely too weak
-
this perk is useless! just the fact that they thought survivors would consider using this shows how they dont know or care about the survivor player base
-
I dont blame survivors, I blame BHVR for making the game too hard and too hopeless for survivors
-
I totally agree!! Survivors need buffs to feel fun and fair again. The game is too rough and too boring with all the absurd nerfs survivor got
-
You just dont play both roles. Killer perks are all signifcantly stronger and a lot easier to get value with less restrictions than survivors perks

I must be the only one who doesn't hate Weaving Spiders. I appreciate the novelty of a new style of interaction, with a high-risk/high-reward scenario. People don't like how it takes 2 minutes to do but if you start at the beginning of the trial - when everyone is still hobknobbing around with totems and chests - then it's not terrible. Plus it's a permanent effect on all generators that cannot be kicked into regression by the killer. I imagine it has a profound impact in 3-gen scenarios. I like the perk, and I welcome it.
What I don't like is a perk that is "Basement Self-Care". Yes, 70% is 2x 35% but if you're restricted to a single, small area of the map, anyone who uses Self-Care (can't relate) will continue to do so - I don't think they'll be persuaded to replace it with Strength in Shadows.
Wicked is a niche idea. When it works, it works, but I would have personally rather seen its effects as a "rider" on another perk, such as Slippery Meat or Up the Ante.
I guess overall I would give Ward's perk array a 2.5 - 3.0 / 5 stars. Mostly good ideas, but in need of polishing.
except there is no high reward??? 120 seconds wasted and perna broken for miserable 10 seconds of all gens? i cant see any worthy reward there
-
blight should be nerfed and huntress shouldn’t be getting buffs

Survivors vs Killer. 4v1. always 4x more people than killer experiencing any given match. THESE are the players you should be catering to. The people who experience MORE of the game should be getting the 60% escape rate. The justification I have seen around the 40/60 killrate-vs-escaperate is laughable, at best. "We want the killer to seem powerful and scary"... Then make the game more scary and fun? Don't balance the game to be less than 50/50? Why is it that the majority of the player base is experiencing losses more often than wins? This makes no sense to me. This is the only game I've ever experienced where I have put in 1000 hours and my win rate is still below 50% (and will remain so, because the developers coddle the killer player base). Please consider balancing for your majority player base and get those numbers closer to 60/40. If that is unacceptable and you still need to coddle to solo-players with a power complex, then at least make it 50/50.
This game has gotten exponentially less fun for survivors, unless you are coordinated and playing with a team. I have been playing for roughly 2 years and I am so sick of each update making killers more and more powerful with no addressing issues that have been plaguing the game forever. Gen rushing, tunneling, map balance, vault speed, heal speed, slugging, etc etc etc. Not addressing core issues like slugging and tunneling (and even hook camping, still (proxy)) seems to be blatant disregard for the fun and majority of the player base. These are issues that could be at least temporarily resolved with simply adjusting some numbers (such as base kit BT, Base kit unbreakable, and base kit kindred).
These issues are annoying enough for seasoned players, but the fact that perks like bond, unbreakable, and windows of opportunity are not base kit is horrible for new players as well. The amount of times I have tried to introduce a friend to this game only to play for OVER an hour and not get a single escape is not acceptable.
The game has gotten so unbelievably frustrating to play for survivors (but even killers, from some community members, I hear), especially with this new update. Weaving spiders is a joke and a horrible perk design, the double pallets and main building on the new map are horrible, and the new killer is incredibly overpowered (speed, teleporting, etc).
I know for a fact this post will be called out by a bunch of mid-ladder killers who feel the need to "win" every game. 1 kill and 2 kills isn't enough. Gotta get all 4 and then leave the last guy to bleed out on the ground while tea-bagging him... That's the thing, right??? Look - When the killer gets to "win", it's dynamic. It's subjective. You could feel good about getting 1 kill if it was a guy who was really good in chase. But with survivors, every person who doesn't get to escape is a real player who is experiencing a "loss".
The inability to guarantee yourself an escape no matter how good you are vs the ability to get at least 1 kill no matter how BAD you are, is stark and easily observed.
The easiest thing to speak to this is how decent killer players can get 50+ 3k/4k streaks in a row, but there is no way to guarantee a 50 (or even 10) streak with 3+ survivors escaping, even with SWF.
Fix this! Most killer players seem to have an ego and power complex issue. I feel as though they are likely being coddled simply because they are the "powerful" presence in the community. They are the ones who have (more of) the ability to be toxic, dictate the sportsmanship of the game, and be a demanding, loud, and uncooperative presence on the forums.
I totally understand this post has a lot of "us vs them" language, and a lot of visible frustration. While some of this may be me just venting my feelings and frustration as someone who has devoted a ton of time to this game, I do believe some of it is also a fair critique. I hope readers can pick and choose what they believe to be a valid critique rather than writing off the whole post/discussion simply because I've been the victim of some really horrible games tonight, and I'm frustrated with the game, lol.
I feel disrespected as survivor by all the agressive nerfs we got and all the useless survivor perks we’ve been getting. also I think it is really unfair that we only have 39% chance of winning
-
How come the devs think it is a good a idea to ignore the majority of the player base and make the game funier and easier to only 20% of the players? It s been two years since survivors are being ignored and agressively nerfed, and what about the unfair fact that we only have 39% chance of winning?
The devs should stop ignoring survivors requests
-
seems like the devs concept of an acceptable survivor perk is something that is absurdly difficult to have any significant value in a regular match.

Sable Ward is heading into The Fog fwith three new Perks and a new Perk type: Invocation. Let us know below what you think of her Perks.
Invocation is extremely weak!! like how did you think it was something usefull?? with two minutes you can do one and half generativo, and you still got to be broken after that???
it is really sad how the devs think survivors deserve only useless and extremely weak perks.
survivors should get strong perks too, you know? we also paid a lot of money to play the game

I have never encountered any other pvp game where it's possible for even the best players to win hundreds of games in a row. There are killers going on these win streaks even while using no addons or perks.
they are, unfortunately. survivors are second hand citizens in this game. our fun doesnt matter sim e we’re just killers punchbags

You've absolutely destroyed solo q with this update, it was playable before but now half these "geniuses" think it's smart to sit in the basement half the trial to activate a perk....the fact you would allow that perk to go through just shows what your intentions are with the game in general
They destroyed solo q and SWF with all updates in last year, this update just made clear how absurd all balance decisions they made were
-
@Bradcore said:
I don't know what's changed but in the past month or two, I've been consistently teamed up with people who have no intention on completing generators and only want to taunt the killer. This isn't just me complaining as a Killer either because I mostly play survivor. These idiots spend the game being ######### heads and I'm the only who actually plays the game. I've had many rounds where I'm the only one who attempts to do generators.
And then, when the gates open, all they do is hang out by the exit gates until the timer is about to run out. Am I missing something? Is there a benefit to prolonging the game when everyone can escape?
I don't know what it is, but I feel like more often than not lately, I'm paired up with people who don't want to actually play.
this is not survivors fault. it is BHVR balance decisions that made the game too hard and too hopeless for survivors to play correctly most matches. Why would you try your best when you know you dont have equal chances of winning? Hate the game not the player
-
I agree!! Killers are way overpowered! Yesterday i played several games where all survivors played perfectly and yet killers got 4k. Some years ago survivors were rewarded for playing skillfully, now playing well is not enough. it is up to the killer to make a huge mistake or otherwise the game is already lost for survivors
-
survivors lost too much and got almost nothing to make up for all the lost things

This feels ridiculously cynical for a whole lot of reasons. First of all, to answer the question
anything else I missed?
- A new killer
- Huntress also got faster windup, not just more hatches
- Clown also got extra bottles, not just a buffed effect on his speed bottles
- Demo got buffs to his shred cooldown (corresponding addon numbers tweaked to compensate)
- Doctor got buffs to his range and detonation delay (corresponding addon numbers tweaked to compensate)
- Hag got basically everything about her traps buffed (corresponding addon numbers tweaked to compensate)
- Hag also got some of her worst addons reworked to be good instead of detrimental
Meanwhile, most of the things that you complain about are QOL things that, without them, would make the game even more unplayable than it already is for solo survivors. The two ways I could interpret those points are either complaining that survivors have tools at their disposal, or saying they shouldn't feel that things are bad because those specific features exist.
To the first, "Oh no, you can't knock the guy down who just got unhooked before they even get a chance to start running, how sad that they get to play the game, that must be very insulting to you personally" would be the performatively condescending way of getting the point across - if you're complaining about having to contend with those things ("here's what killers have to face" makes it seem like your focus is that killers are so challenged by these mechanics) it comes across as being upset that these mechanics that basically just give free wins to anyone not facing top players in a 4-man swf can no longer give free wins.
To the second possibility, "It could be even worse" is a terrible counterargument. Kidnapping someone and putting them in your basement is terrible, and saying "but I'm feeding you when I could be starving you to death so you have it great" does not refute the fact that kidnapping and locking someone in your basement is wrong (going with the horror movie analogy here).
There's also the double standard you've set up. When talking about benefits killers get, you almost exclusively talk about things that are coming out only in the next patch. When talking about stuff survivors have, you bring up things that have been accumulating for the last year and a half. If you need to go back 18 months to make the list of survivor QOL stuff seem comparable to the things killers get in just one patch, you're kind of accidentally proving the opposite point.
The fact is, solo survivor feels miserable to play, and a lot of people are saying it. Aside from more niche creators I follow that are saying it, Ay*** is saying it, even icon of the Killer community *** is saying it (names censored to comply with forum rules, but you can probably figure out who i mean). The fact that survivors are allowed to run 4 perks now because they don't have to run BT to give their teammate more than a 0% chance to run away does not make everything they've said invalid.
thanks!! this is exactly what I think. but people really try to mislead us with this faux buffs that survivor get. despite HUD and base kit borrowed time and removed hook grabs that were great and needed survivor lost all strong perks, medkits, tool boxes, MFT, DH, CoH, Iron Will, Self Care, got extra 10 seconds of gen, lost Decisive Strike, killers got quicker animations for everything, kicks regress 5%, pop is 30% now, pain res is 25% now instead of 15%. the list is endless. and we have the false buffs, antifacecamp which is useless and anti3gen which was just a buff to killer gen regression and removed gen tapping.

What from this next update is pro-killer in general?
- Huntress gets a few more hatchets
- Clowns Bottles actually do something, for that, the One-Shot-Addon is nerfed (which is fine)
- Pigs Aura-Reading of the Boxes gets removed for a bit of faster Crouching and a bit better Ambush. Will it pay out? We have to wait
- anything else I missed? Oh yeah, Mangled-Statuseffect nerfed.
What do killers have to face?
- Basekit Borrowed Time 10sec + Haste
- Hook Grabs are removed
- a lot of Gen-Defense-Perks got nerfed over the last months, while Gen-Speed-Up Perks and Toolboxes are untouched or even better than before (Deja-Vu for example).
- Anti-Facecamping-Mechanic for brainless gameplay in terms of rescue missions
- even more Endurance-Effects
Whats the future?
- Deceisive-Strike Buff
- Ultimate Weapon Nerf
- Twins-Changes (I assume in the end its a nerf, but better QoL)
I can easily continue about more things survivors got gifted for absolutely nothing, but lets be real: It doesnt care anyone. I can live with the current Survivor and with the current Killer in general. I think the game is balence-wise in its best position since I started playing in 2021, however: The Gap between Trash-Tier-Killers and good Killers is still too big. Funwise, I think after 4.000 hours its only natural that the excitement goes down a bit.
So in the end I think you overdramatise a bit, which is fine if you feel that way, but in my opinion (and I play both roles more or less equally, I think the game is in a decent spot).
I play survivor more than killer 60/40 and I’m telling you how I feel about the balance changes. You cant come here and try to say that my opinion isn’t valid just because you dont see that way. A lot of people have diferent perceptions of what is unfun and unbalanced. Me and a lot of survivors I know and I see in twitter and forums are saying loud and clear: this isn’t good how it is right now. If you disagree, that’s ok, but you cant invalidate this, you cant decide for other people how they feel or e hats fun or fair, doing so is borderline gaslighting. and you don’t know me to say that it is because I play for to long. Disagree all you want, but my opinion and perception is valid and should be heard too, despite it does not fit in your narrative of what is best for the game fun
-
they simply dont care if we are happy we the changes they’ve been doing last years
-
unfortunately survivors opinions are worthless to BHVR

You make it sound as if they only ever listen to killer players. A brief look at DbD's history shows that to very much not be true. I agree that solo survivor is often a pretty miserable experience unless you have some good team mates that don't suck and run around like headless chickens. But other than, the game is in a pretty good state balance wise. Not optimal, sure, but much better than in the past and there can always be some improvement. A game like DbD will likely never be perfectly balanced. There were years when the balance was atrocious and we're thankfully long past that.
this sounds like revenge, since survivors had the upper hand before 2022, now they must suffer and killers must have the upper hand. how about everyone having equal chances? how about every side having equally strong and game changing perks?

Don't get me wrong, but is the feedback section any good at all? I can hardly imagine that much of what is suggested there will actually be implemented
I always comment there, but never really felt seen by the devs. it looks like the only opinions that are taken into account are the ones that favors killers

This is the opinion of a new player, so he's basically a beginner, right? I think that's the real point, if not all of it. If there is a new person who believes that he or she is capable, that is free.
I have 4k hours and been around since 2021

There will be more, we do those surveys on a regular basis. In the meantime, I would strongly urge you to share any thoughts you have in the feedback section if you're alright with that. The surveys aren't the only way we collect feedback, they just help us reach a wider group of people who may not want to share their thoughts publicly.
I always do, but me and and a lot of other survivor friends are feeling really unheard and unseen by you guys
-
it is absolutely garbage. nobody will ever use a perk that has so little value and such an absurd downside that is to be broken all trial
-
it’s funny how everyone thinkd the blame is on the players, for me it is clearly obvious that the blame is on BHVR balance decisions that made the game too rough and hopeless for survivors. In order to everyone want to stay in a match, everyone deserves the same shot at winning
-
but I appreciate nice killers like you who try to make the game better for survivors. for me the main reason people give up is because the game is too hopeless for survivors most times. you cant convince someone to play a match they dont believe they have any chance
-
I self sacrifice or support who does it when the match is clearly unwinnable. the problem is the survivor role dont get chances to make a comeback, and sometimes you can absolutely say that a match is lost in less than 2 minutes
-
if adrenaline is nerfed, they will lose some players, because there are so manu survivors unhappy with the balance decisions they been doing
-

I guess if you choose to ignore everything positive for survivors over the last two years it would seem like they get nothing.
this is just gaslighting. besides FTP BU, few months of MFT everything was just a huge nerf. Antifacecamp just doesnt do anything, and anti 3gen is just a huge survivor nerf. all new perks are useless. we didnt get any siginificant buffs since HUD and basekit BT, removing hook grabs was nice, but I would rather not have any of this, and still have things the way they were before

Thats a troll post right lol ?
otr is trash
we already had ds it got nerfed
the maps have literally been changed to be more killer sided
deja vu is mid
we always had adre and its about to get nerfed
the hud improvements dont help swf and solo q is a mess
anti 3gen and anti camp almost never work
Base kit bt still dosent stop tunneling
and ftp buckle up is completely broken and will be changed sooner or later
shall I continue?
Not to forget hook grabs are the equivalent to when survivors had ds at endgame thats why both got removed.
So please dont try to say survivors have a good time.
they dont care about us having a good time. they just want to win 90% of their games without having to earn it. survivors are just killer punchbags these days

These are meta perks everyone runs as they don't require a ridiculous amount of preamble to get value.
No one wants to keep using these perks just to have a hope at getting to end game.
exactly! perks should be simple to get value!! all survivor perks have requirements that demand time to activate, time we dont have since we got less pallets, more dead zones, more gen time, more gen regression and less ways to counter gen regression. It is so absurd how oppresive it is to play survivor right now
-
also because we have a map like the game so everything is good, fair and fun for survivors? get real. killers need to stop to be granted free kills and actually have to work for win
-
obviously it is extremely killer sided solo and swf at all MMRs. the data says it all. 4 man swfs only win 48% at high MMR
-
also 60% killrates are unfair and unfun
-
the games are always hopeless! all perks are too weak, 90 seconds gens with basekit 5% regression per kick, buffed pop and other regressions, DH and MFT are use less, medkits are not so usefull, antifacamp is the same as nothing, and the anti 3gen was just a survivor nerf. It is really sad what they did to the survivor role. I’m actually waiting for more survivors to show their disapproval for what BHVR did to survivors and actually make the game fun for survivors again. We are the majority of players and yet we’re not listened, instead we’re humiliated with all these super oppressive nerfs
-
they dont care about survivor problems
