I mean this game is highly unfriendly towards completionists in the first place. I don't even know if you're supposed to complete everything, because the game design makes it as difficult as you say.
But yeah I don't get either why you have to strip your character naked each time you want a prestige-level. I'm fine with raising the bar for prestige (level 100, 150, 200 even) because you'll spend BPs either way. But why would I play a perkless character until I fed him enough BPs my other characters earned? It's not only resetting your character, it's blocking him for a limited amount of time, only to get him prestiged. It's the only reason I refuse to prestige on my favorite characters.

Not true. We're talking about players with literally thousands of hours in the game. Some main Survivor, some Killer. Hell we even had a veteran Doc main try new Doc. :)
How many players were those? Which bandwith of skill did they have? Because not everyone is a professional doc main for example and most players hardly agree about balance. Yet I see so many people unite behind the current opinion on this forum that I have to ask this. Its a nice attempt to let good players test this out, but I can't get rid of the feeling that these players represent a minority and not the most shared opinion across the playerbase and that is kinda odd without an explanation of those players. That certainly would help.

I won't answer this - I don't want more changes implemented yet. Shall some time pass between those.

You try hitting greats on console.
Why, is this difficult? I did it several times first try and I usually play on PC.
From my view: I'm a survivor main - the few times I play killer I never equip ruin. But then again, I'm a killer noob in noob ranks, getting noob survivors. I'm fine. If I would be a godlike killer player like True or Otz or anyone able to at least 2k against decent survivors, I wouldn't need ruin in higher ranks either. But it currently is a great help to balance out a big skill gap and that's its greatest value (especially in times of bad matchmaking).
Sure it can be abused. Like balanced landing and DS, every perk can. But with this nerf they basically removed it from the game. Imagine removing DS - sure you CAN play without it without issues but if you need it you reeeeaaally feel it lacking. Same with ruin.

Internal playtests, and playtests with select experienced players. This was posted before the PTB began (as you can see by the date in the screenshot).
I kinda doubt this was a test we can actually put our trust into, since our own experiences from the ptb and hundreds of hours playtime differ greatly from this.

I agree that Lerys looks good. But visuals alone don't make a game.

There are perks that synergize together though.
Self Care and Botany Knowledge
Spirit Fury and Enduring
Hex: Haunted Grounds and any other Hex perk.
Perks often may not seem the best alone. But synergize them well and you have a pretty useful build.
Yes, but of all those perks you mentioned you can't disable one of them. You can disable hex-perks though. Imagine botany knowledge getting disabled for the rest of the match by getting hit by the killer (for example). The combination would be entirely useless. Would you still equip the perk with this risk?
-
You forget something. For those "positives" you mentioned (surveillance etc.) you need 2 perks, maybe even 3 to make real use of it! Means instead of 1 perk lot (just ruin) to slow down gen progression we now need 2-3 perk slots.
And then ruin is STILL a HEX! If it gets cleansed at the start of the match, this combo is rendered USELESS. And I guarantee you that it will, because obviously hexes are known to be high-risk-perks!
-
Yeah great - the game gets balanced around new players now. Because veterans who played this game for years don't know what they're talking about, obviously.

The perk change in itself is highly unnecessary. In its current state, its a strong perk but only in the first few minutes, when the totem wasn't found yet. Since survivors often spawn next to those spots or know them already by heart, its just a question of time when they'll stumble over it. Atm its a stomper perk for noobs and a slight delay for experienced survivors.
The change...this change will make it low threat, high risk, low reward. Why searching for a totem and delaying the game if I just need to keep sitting on a gen no matter what? (Which experienced survivors already do. They'll repair in a killers face and risk to be downed to finish it, don't you worry). If its a totem on top of it, its not only weak, its basically a meme.

There's also Pop Goes The Weasel, Thanataphobia, Dying Light, and others to help you out. The new Ruin also helps slow things down by regressing generators, although you'll need to put in some effort to keep them off the generators. Whenever you hook a survivor, people have to make the choice between leaving the generator and having it regress or committing to the generator and risk getting pushed off (BBQ, for example)/the hooked survivor losing a hook state. I'd strongly suggest giving it a try, it's actually very good.
No. Just no. A killer without ruin will see 2 gens pop at the same time at the very start of the game if he was unlucky enough to walk into the wrong direction. Unable to protect gens in time. Maps are big, toolboxes many and genspeeds are laughable. Before unhooking someone I equip kindred, notice someone heading to the hook and keep doing my gen without sweating about it. And if I don't use kindred and play with SWF the communication will help sorting this out. The only killers kinda able to deal with this nerf are Hillbilly and Spirit. Because since Nurse got nerfed I barely see her anymore, so no clue if she still got it in her to do so.
Please BHVR, this is NOT the right way to handle the problem which symptom is ruin. Don't cure the symptoms, cure the actual problem!

I wonder what it is that makes people think everything in this game is a personal affront against them. You play the game, you get invested, you try to perform good... yet you get mocked. It's bad sportsmanship I get it. But those teabagging people do not know you in person and can't direct their bad manners at you. They teabag at one of a thousand killers, not you personally. It doesn't harm you if you don't let it. It's just a video game. Your honor as a real life person isn't affected by this.
Here a little fortune cookie: "Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expect others to die from it"
If you react to teabagging you give them what they want. A reaction.

I've seen a few vial charms already and I have no idea if it's because they played or bought a lot. On the other hand - I don't really care about it. If they want to show off with it, it failed and if they only got it because they liked it: good for them. Either way it has no affect on me, so who am I to judge.
