  • Holding M1 on generators is boring. Crouch-walking to the next generator is boring. All of this stuff is boring, except interacting with the killer. But when the killer is too good or their powers are too OP , you get to sit on a hook or on the floor where you get to do nothing. I really, honestly believe that the biggest problem with the game's design is that the most exciting interaction in

  • Alright, look, I get it. You play a video game to interact and have fun. You don't like it when you get slugged or hooked too fast and you can't play that video game. I have to question why you're playing a video game where the penalty for being caught is getting murdered by a horrifying monster or insane psychopath, but still. I understand that as a video game, having control removed from your c

  • Just brainstorming a bit about another horror title I'd love to see included with both a killer and survivor, and how mechanically one might introduce the paranoia inherent in The Thing. The Thing starts as a little alien spider-thing, about the size of Chucky, and plays in third person. It has a reduced terror radius and is very fast, but its clattering footsteps are audible from farther away

  • For those of you who haven't been around the indie Youtube animation scene, Murder Drones is a free, Youtube-posted animation series by GLITCH , who also do The Amazing Digital Circus. Murder Drones is very entertaining and the murder drones are actually pretty engaging characters. SPOILERS FOR MURDER DRONES EXIST BELOW THIS LINE I would love to get a Singularity skin for Singularity Cyn. A re

  • Every single game I play as killer seems to be against the same perks. Lithe, Windows of Opportunity, Adrenaline, Sprint Burst, Unbreakable, Background Player, Flip Flop, Boil Over, flashlights, brand new parts, styptics. Every time I do, I remember that these are the people complaining about killers slugging for the 4K, but they're content to make every single match the same stale, miserable ex

  • It was wild. There was a huge open map that looked like it was inspired by the first Predator movie, in the jungle with a lot of shacks and buildings. The Predator himself played a lot like Vecna - hold Ctrl to select from 4 weapons: the wristblades, the plasmacaster, the smart disc, and the combi-stick (spear). The wristblades were the basic attack, while the plasma caster could be aimed and had

  • Hey, the forums are on fire and people are mad about everything! Let's talk about an idea for another licensed chapter, since DBD is on a roll with them. BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA The 1986 action-comedy film featuring Kurt Russell, James Hong, Dennis Dun, Victor Wong, and Kim Cattrall among many others centers around an ancient Chinese sorcerer cursed by the Emperor Qin Shi Huang to exist i

  • It's the hot topic lately, and here's yet another opinion from a killer main who hasn't played Skull Merchant! I haven't ever touched SM because her power, to me, is so boring. If survivors know how to counter her power effectively, she's an M1 killer. If they don't, she's a mostly passive but oppressively dull killer to go against. So here's my suggestion: ACTIVE DRONES DRONES The Skull

  • I don't care what you think of the bodyblocking meta, hooks themselves should never be bodyblockable. You think "Oh just hit the survivor and you can get past it," but I have had games where one survivor is enough to make every hook attempt a failure because the survivor they're bodyblocking for is using perks to make it easier to get off the killer's shoulder. Hooking should never be made impo

  • It's been in discussion for this game for so long, and even with the blood point reduction and changes to unlockable perks/prestiging, the grind for perks is just too much. As someone who has not and cannot put 1,000 hours into this game, it is unbelievably disheartening and discouraging to jump into games with three tier 1 perks and find the killer and other survivors have full meta builds. Pl

  • THIS THREAD CONTAINS DISCUSSION AND MINOR SPOILERS REGARDING STRANGER THINGS SEASON 4 (part 1) So, with rumors about Stranger Things returning and the possibility of Vecna as a killer, I wanted to bring up how Vecna's abilities could translate to the game and how Freddy's original power concept is both thematically appropriate and cool. I want to present a general framework and see what kind

  • Looking at it from the perspective of the backlash it has caused and the upcoming mid-chapter release alongside Halloween events, I think BHVR knew. They knew back when they misled the community into believing there were no NFTs in the game. They knew that announcing that they were working with NFTs in any capacity was going to cause a massive player response. They knew that people would proba

  • I believe that the only ethical decision in this situation would be to remove all of their Hellraiser content from DbD until such a time as no one involved in licensing Hellraiser is also associated with NFTs. I understand that in order to get this IP and include it in the game, BHVR likely had to agree to terms of a contract. They were likely forced to participate, but they still agreed to the

  • I'm not going to stop harping on this until it's changed. Here I am with several survivors and several killers sitting unplayed at level 1 because the game just is not possible without perks. Nobody's going to play "perkless" just because I haven't unlocked the meta perks. If I go in with a level 1 Huntress to try and learn her I'm just going to be curbstomped by people with perks that make me

  • That's basically the thread. Having to grind for randomized perks through multiple bloodwebs and banking on addons that make the game more interesting or mechanically different isn't good. The game needs to move on to some kind of store system where you can buy the perks you've unlocked on survivors and killers, as well as their addons, in a static (maybe daily refreshing) store interface.

  • With the release of Nemesis, I think we can see that Pyramid Head is just objectively worse in every way. It feels like nobody knew how to design Pyramid Head as the first video game crossover character, but they were successful with Nemesis. Knowing what makes Nemesis feel strong and fun to play I think they should go back and redo Pyramid Head's entire kit. Here are the problems with Pyramid

  • I'm sure this topic has come up a lot. In a game of DBD, there's really almost nothing to do except do gens and get chased. You either escape or get hooked. While sometimes this can lead to secondary objectives (like "save that guy from the hook") I think the game would benefit from different types of objectives - and not just team ones. What if each survivor has a randomly-determined speci

  • This is just something I was thinking about since we've gotten lots of new mechanics since Trapper was designed in the first place. One of the things that's possible now probably WASN'T possible when Trapper was implemented is interaction with the environment. Perks like Bamboozle and the Entity blocking windows is a thing, and Freddy can teleport to generators. Demogorgon can spawn portals. So,
