Despite Sherlock’s books not being considered horror stories, they do have horror elements such as the Hound of the Baskervilles (which could make for a great Houndmaster skin, now that I mention it). Imhotep, from the 1999 version of the Mummy could work wonderfully as a DBD killer. For starters, the movies are really well loved and fondly remembered (except for some of the CG here and there). Arachnophobia, a horror comedy that is much more serious than most of the genre, that is about, you guessed it, arachnids. Specifically: spiders. I just think it would be cool to play as Death in DBD. Would be a bit overpowered though. The Reaper: The Reaper didn’t need to be engulfed by the fog, for death happens in all realms. There is no escape. Playdead’s Limbo is an iconic piece of horror media, having won awards, while still being loved and referenced today.
