I've only had the pleasure of playing against her once. I don't mind though, she's not very fun or engaging to versus.
-
I've never understood why teabagging at the gate is an issue? Like, just hit them and they'll run out. Is it that hard?
-
They need time to collect data.
Most of the anxiety over these boon totems are just killers being terrified & scared. In reality, the perks are probably not as powerful as they seem. We shall see.

"Disconnection Penalties: Players who disconnect early from games will receive temporary matchmaking bans, with the duration escalating for repeat offenders."
Its literally officially called a "Disconnection Penalty".
Guess what, calling it a "ban" is a misnomer.
It quite literally goes:
'Matchmaking Ban
You have been temporarily banned from matchmaking for disconnecting from your previous match. You will be allowed to enter matchmaking once the penalty expires.'
Keyword: banned.

Its a fact that DC Penalty is not a ban, is temporary, and the function of which is to prevent DC abuse to wreck matches for others.
Its a fact that nowhere here is there any evidence that a "hacker" bricked a PS5 through DBD.
As to "intentions" you dont know his, and we dont know yours, and nobody started talking about "intentions" till you did.
Ive never heard of a "hacker" bricking a PS5 on DBD. It is however entirely possible that DBD itself bricks a PS5, on its own, if some certain critical functions of it are impaired or overriden whilst running on that platform.
I really dont see what your point has been this entire thread and in your responses in it.
Fact is we dont know that any "hacker" bricked his PS5 through DBD, and frankly that is the LEAST likely of any number of other possible reasons why this specific PS5 in this specific persons use stopped working.
It's literally officially called 'matchmaking ban' because, guess what, it's a ban.

As someone who teabags, clicks and points... I can't kill the killer myself, so the next best thing is to impact the killer's emotions as this usually has consequences for the way they play - i.e. they get tilted and start tunnelling and hence this benefits my teammates.
It's just another tool. And it's crazily effective. Killers take a teabag very personally, for some reason.
Teabagging at the exit gate - that's kind of a little cheeky celebration. Like: yeah, you thought you could KILL me, nice try bud. I survived your attempts to cut my match short.
When I play killer, I LOVE survivors who teabag or flashlight-click. It just looks funny.

pls never stop. i wanna see this game lose all its remaining killers.
There are way more killers than survivors. It wouldn't hurt to lose a few.
-
They're great. It's a refreshing change to the meta and flow of the game. Now things are a bit more interesting again.
I think a lot of the negative reaction from killer mains is overreaction at this point. It's a step they needed to take though.

Yes, a killer can immedately go towards a gen on some maps and it'll pop before the killer can get there, unless they're Wraith/Blight. That's almost 20% of the survivor objectives done. Then let's say the killer goes on a well played chase that lasts 40 seconds, with 10 seconds to pick up and hook, and two more gens are done.
That's 60% of survivor objectives done and 8% of the killer objective. When exactly is the killer supposed to wander off to find a totem? Even if the killer knows where the totem is, the time lost to reach it can mean a lost game.
Survivors can just hide, be immersed while they're hunting for bones and there will be no progress for the killer, the killer cannot undo a gen once it's done.
This means survovors can easily do totems without giving the killer any chance for progressing the objective. The killer cannot do bones without losing generators.
No, sorry, I don't know what games you are playing but gens do not pop that fast. This seems more a case of you going against really good survivors that are beyond your skill level. Hopefully SBMM fixes this up for you.

That logic quickly falls apart when you realize theres 4 survivors and only one killers.
Each survivor can take out one of the 4 possible killer totem perks at the same time meanwhile the killer physically cannot do the same against a theoretical 16 survivor totem perks.
Killers are faster than survivors and do not have to worry about being detected while doing a boon totem. Survivors walk slower and are at risk of being interrupted. Hence, this cancels out the 4v1 effect.
-
If survivors have time to do hex totems, then killers have time to do boon totems.
Killer mains have gotten off too easily with "jUsT dO tOtEmS" every time someone complained about OP hex perks, and now that they have to do totems themselves, we are witnessing meltdown after meltdown.
-
Correct.
Blaming poor gameplay on 'gen rush' is a way for killers to shift blame for their own inadequacy onto survivors.
-
I don't see anything wrong with the survivors in the OP. It looks like they're having a good time?
-
So I'm supposed to give you a free hook or kill? It doesn't work like that buddy.
Earn your kills like we have to earn our escapes.
-
You know they can just look at matches where NOED wasn't used. They don't have to disable NOED for everyone.
-
Yes this makes sense

Cakes are so rare, I'd rather not bring any and just rely on my teammates to bring them. I'd hate to use the single cake offering I have just to get tunnelled and camped off the bat.
-
Yeah, it's pretty sad. I've decided to stop playing until the hotfix.

I've noticed it hasn't crashed on old maps. If you have offerings, now is the time to use them lmao.
I've been having crashes on old maps too.
On Autohaven it gave me the "Out of video memory trying to allocate a rendering resource" error. Been playing for years and I've never seen this error.
-
I'm also having this problem on the new map. It happened towards the end of the match as I jumped from a big height. I guess Xbox users can't play anymore since we'll get banned for crashing?

A killer can play without camping and tunneling and get punished a lot by these perks. You can watch some streamers and see that.
You can avoid this DS/BT endgame scenario very easily.
It's simple... just don't get to endgame.
I always get a 4k before all gens are done, it's not that difficult as long as you're playing at the rank you're supposed to be.
-
BT and DS in endgame reward the survivor for playing well.
You can't really complain about survivors having tools to escape you facecamping them in endgame.

I think I know what they were going for- they didn't want someone to get their stun, or protection hit, or whatever and then feel like "Well, I got my challenge done, that's a win for me regardless of how this turns out." They wanted people to be actively trying to win each game in addition to trying to do their challenges, so they slapped on "and escape." But really, they should've slapped on "and escape through the exit gates" since the hatch promotes letting your teammates die.
Sure, but on average, escaping is already a difficult task for survivors. This makes the challenges for survivor a lot harder than those for killer. They should have added on "and earn 2 or more Gold/Iridescent emblems" instead, for example.
-
Yeah they're pretty boring and tedious. I miss the creativity of the previous tome. The goal of playing the game is already to escape or hook survivors - the archives aren't introducing any new challenges atm.

Weird. Maybe it's an infrastructure issue? My ping is around/slightly better than 50.
(I connect to the server in Germany.)
Weird. I live literally between Frankfurt and London and even then I get 200-300ms ping most lobbies. I do have the odd 40ms game but that's rare.
-
No.
I've purchased every single DLC and have cosmetics for nearly every character, but I won't spend money on this game anymore because of the awful dedicated servers. Truly game breaking.

@ApeOfMazor said:
Really though like what kinda connection do you people have? I see many people complaining all the time about lag and stuff yet they have terrible internet and play on wifi.
I have 200mbps download, 30mbps upload, and I'm on ethernet. Before dedicated servers, my ping used to be around 70-80.
Now it's around 200-300, every single time. It can't be my fault.
-
This is awful. I haven't gotten a lobby with a ping below 200ms and I have great internet. I dreaded this day...

At first it was acting like it was going to let me play. Then I try to load up and it says I need a patch that doesn't exist. Oh FFS.
If that happens you should restart your Xbox.

What were your main takeaways from the archives Tome I (in terms of completion rate, feedback, etc.) and how did this affect how you designed Tome II?
