  • The only times I ragequit are when I'm being carried to a death hook or mori'd and I'm certain that:
    1. I'm getting less than 4k BP that game (less than 5 second "chases" and/or 0 generators done)
    2. My team absolutely will not benefit from the extra 2 or 3 seconds of my continued existence

The whole process of being hooked and waiting for the animation to end so I can wait for the endgame screen to pop up is pointless in this case, just skip it so I can get onto the next game and try again.

  • Honestly, when I get the survivors who feel like staying in the game after the gates are open to either bully me or obsess over the hatch, I stop playing and go hide in a corner and ALT tab out to go read a webpage or something until the game ends. They want to get their jollies by taunting and feeling like they're further humiliating me, so I don't give them that satisfaction or extra blood points for chases or escaping while down or healing.
  • Accompanied by a new Killer offering that turns the killer into Mike Shinoda, and turns the heartbeat sound into a loop of Shinoda rapping the chorus of "Remember the Name"

List of Survivors who are nice to Killers:
    -Some Quentins
    -Some Kates
    -Memelord Jake mains
    -Roughly 10-15% of Megs

List of Survivors who aren't nice to Killers:
    -Everyone else

    0% of Megs

I am permanently scarred to Megs
They all suck and I hate them all and they make me feel sad. :(

Nah mate some Megs really do be like that

  • DbD is about misdirection and mind games. Survivors (and killers) reach toxic levels of salt when they lose because a loss implies that they were outsmarted. Which is impossible, right? Clearly it's a lie that the killer is smarter than you! 🙃

small game perk designed to "find ruin" but not so good at finding

    survivor cant not holding anymore.

    killer has no weakpoint now.

You don't really have to worry about Ruin when you Gen Tap which is what most of my friends and I do until we find ruin. Yes it's a little slower but you literally just hold the repair button until you see your character set into the repair animation about 3-4 seconds then let go and do it again, this avoids skill checks altogether and basically makes ruin and lullaby useless for the most part.

A better approach is to do them as normal and if you miss a hex skill check, stop working on the gen until it stops sparking. This will get you quicker progress - you stop while it's sparking because the repair progress halts, but it still rolls the chances for a skill check to happen. There's an element of luck to it because sometimes you'll get skill checks rapid fire, but on average this will get your gens done faster than tapping.

  • Well, let's factor in that people need to realize that David is supposed to be geared towards earning Boldness BP and Evader emblems, with a little Altruism/Benevolent on the side. People shouldn't be playing with David's perks unless they can juke and loop reliably. I mean, look at the concept of the perks: The take-a-hit benefit of WGLF and No Mither in its entirety are intended to make David into a target, and Dead Hard is supposed to supplement loops and jukes by buying you precious seconds when the killer is closing in on a chase (whether or not the perks actually do these things in practice, however, is an entirely different story).

I like that idea of a token being earned only on a safe unhook. Lately I've had issues with overly altruistic survivors obsessing over unhooks instead of realizing that you have 20 seconds after a hook on average to do anything but rescue them and not hit the end of the ohase. If this perk helped call attention to the difference between safe an unsafe hook rescues, that would benefit everyone.

With that, the taking-a-hit mechanic would be icing on the cake. Because if you make the decision to block a fatal hit and the survivor gets away, then you just got two tokens for ensuring a safe rescue.
  • Wow, I'm legitimately surprised to see these responses. Not gonna lie, I was half-expecting a chorus of "git gud qq scrub" based on the attitudes of people I encounter in game.

So, thank you guys so far for what looks like genuine advice, I'm looking for all the POVs I can get. I'm aware there is no one single correct solution, this game is all about misdirection and mind games, so the more viewpoints shared means more situations and bits of logic that I wouldn't have found on my own.
