  • The DBD reddit is a complete cesspool of toxicity, which somehow isn't enough for many players so there are multiple splinter subreddits for how to be even more toxic. I remember when one of the CMs did a whole thing where they wanted to recognize "valuable people" with some small giveaway, and like five of the people they picked were known massive trolls, including a couple overt racist jerks.

Also, let's remember that the DBD reddit bans all mentions of bugs and issues with the game. Moderation also encourages and brags about griefing. It's not a place of light.

  • And in a month or two, they'll close up the bug report tracker too. No negative feedback or bug reports if you can't post 'em.

Let's say BHVR implemented extensive tutorials on how to loop and a practice ground that could be used to practice against various killers.

It's also a strange standard to say that one side has to do a bunch of tutorials to play the game, but not the other side.

It's always the same. Survivors need to git gud. They don't have issues that need to be addressed. They're just whining and bad players. Survivors just need to have the foresight to run the exact perks to counter every killer's build and know what all those builds are and know how to run every tile and know every killer addon and have perfect coordination with the entire team.

But killers? They need material buffs. Buff camping. Buff tunneling. Buff slugging. Any killer on any build should have at least a 50/50 chance of beating even the strongest most coordinated team. Nerf all meta survivor perks if a comp team can use them against randos to great effect. But don't nerf killers who can go on winstreaks in the thousands. That's just bad matchmaking. Completely different and not at all relevant.

  • I promise you, Lithe is next.

And probably after that, Kindred will be in killer CC's crosshairs. I can already see them saying that solo queue doesn't need it any more with the chat wheel update and it makes camping harder.

don't forget what the original trade was:

survivors lose styptic, syringe and off the record but survivors gain 5 seconds of extra borrowed time!

the new trade is survivors lose 5 seconds of borrowed time and sprint burst, but gain 10 seconds of elusive!

They don't even get that. The 10 seconds of elusive begins when the unhook animation begins, so you're animation locked for 2 seconds of it, while simultaneously, there's a gigantic visual notification and audio notification on your exact location. By the time you're even able to leave the bubble, you've lost probably half the elusive and endurance.

Overbrine didn't take over the game in the first week of 6.1 so let's just give things time to settle.

It's always wait and see when it's going to benefit killers, but when survivors get anything? Kill it in the womb. Salt the earth. We cannot even let it reach the second day of PTB.

  • There won't be a meta shakeup because the meta killers are untouched, the meta killer perks are untouched, and the meta killer strategies are, if anything, buffed by even more anti-tunnel perks being eviscerated.

WoO is incredibly overused and, after 10 years of perks, provides too much benefit. This is a welcome change.

Where is this logic for perks like Pain Res, Corrupt, and Lethal which have been at the top of the meta since release?

Or killers like Blight, Nurse, and Ghoul for the same.

If they want to shake up the meta, they need to actually make meaningful changes that promote different playstyles and different enviornments for what's needed to succeed. Not simply pick whatever random perk killer CCs are crying about this month and dumpster it.

  • Current meta is camping, tunnelling, slugging.

Anti-tunnel was nerfed, camping and slugging were untouched.

How is this going to shake up the meta?

Not to mention the prelude nerfs of SB, Vigil, Deli, and the basekit BT losing 5s. I'm so puzzled by the reasoning of ruining almost every good survivor perk while the killer meta goes mostly untouched. Like how many people do they want to quit the role? Because I'm being pushed more and more away from it with each A tier killer release and survivor nerf.

    Tunneling buffed.

    Regression buffed.

    Killer chase massively buffed.

But at least they reworked Thrill.

Take your token effort and stop whining, survivors. We'll get to slugging… not now, since it's almost the holiday, and we can't do updates within 2 months before or after Christmas for some reason, but April, we'll look at slugging again. Probably to buff it.

  • This is just another massive buff to camping and tunneling. The only counterplay survivors have is to slam out gens and leave. And you think removing that so that they have no counter to it whatsoever is somehow healthier for the game.

  • Wasn't the MMR rework supposed to be their trial to reduce tunneling? We have the MMR rework now. Has tunneling been reduced? That is a rhetorical question. So when is slugging and tunneling going to be addressed as promised over a year ago?

  • I don't understand why the developers would announce that something is a gameplay experience issue that they intend to address, and then ignore it. Do they think it stopped being an issue? Is the huge difference in killer and survivor queue times not an indication that something needs to be materially done to address the survivor experience, of which they've repeatedly said tunneling is one of the foremost reasons people uninstall?

A chat wheel isn't going to protect me or my teammates from these things. Why should survivors be expected to have the coordination of a competitive level discord channel just to be able to actually play the game? It's just going to be another excuse to blame survivors for not playing perfectly instead of giving them the opportunity to even play at all.
