Got to love the random dense guy who completely missed the point. These are your solo teammates

I 4k most of my games as killer and escape about 50% of time as a solo q survivor. So yeah I'm definitely the problem lol

Both killer and survivor are in a ######### situation right now, I really can't understand why the Devs don't see this and sort it out!!

    How it goes for me...

Killer - gens fly by because survivors aren't wasting time healing. They're actually far more productive after the update.

Survivor - almost every match is a camp/tunnel/3 gen.

So when you play killer you lose and when you play survivor you lose. Definitely a dev problem...

  • Not having dh makes survivor much more boring. No I don't even think it was OP, but it was more fun. Sprint burst and lithe is guaranteed value but you just hold w.

That's how it existed for the first 5ish years of the game (aside from being cleansed) and it wasn't the strongest killer perk. On top of that it had 2x the regression it has now. It was good but not broken by any means.

I didn't play for that long but seems like it was always a hex - https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/Hex:_Ruin#1.3.1

  • If ruin was just always up until someone died that'd be the strongest killer perk in the game

I'd like to see you play Wesker.

The only way that he can even be close to an S-tier killer is if you learn how to use his techs, which are almost as hard to master as some of blights. Also, his hitbox isn't huge, just learn how to move left and right. Even though its not as mindless as just clicking space to drop pallet and hold W for prolonged amounts of time, its not actually that hard.

Please find me any tier list that's from a valid person that has wesker lower than 5th. I'd love to see you find one. And yes I do play wesker too lol and it's so easy.

  • Wesker is basically the only S tier killer with a really easy to use power. Nurse/blight/spirit take some work to master. Wesker you just shoot your giant hitbox at someone and hit them.

What do you think happens to someone's MMR after averaging just over 3 kills over 100 games? How does MMR simultaneously work for people who play at "high MMR" but completely fail to adjust for other players who have OP's win rate?

High mmr doesn't exist in this game which is the problem. It's very obvious that there's an extremely low mmr cap. For example once you start with a new killer you will get complete beginners. But then later after winning basically all your games, you will have games with insane loopers then also still people who barely know how to loop anything. On my strongest killer (over half games are 4k easily) I still run into very poor survivors.

MMR cap in this game is extremely low. Once you are somewhere around top 50% of players it just treats you the same as everyone else. Pretty obvious it works this way because the huge disparity between survivors you run into in games. Some games I will run into some insane demons then next someone constantly running into walls and cant do anything.

It will happen again. Try to think of tunneling as a chance to practice chase, because the killer's attention is all on you. The killer doesn't want to ruin your day, he's just sweating like he will win an apartment in Dubai. When I feel like it’s the day of tunneling, I run Deli + OTR + DS + DH combo. You should try it to make tunneling more fun for you.

Why is it when a killer tries to win he's "sweating" but never hear this about literally every survivor that gen rushes

  • @IWasLrft2Die said:

Man lobby dodging would be obnoxious... I don't see many people actively be willing to play against swf tbh.

The main part of my post was the fact that you would still be locked in so you can't just lobby dodge.

  • Why would anyone run overcharge after the ptb changes go live? It will only be useful if you are at some mmr where people can't hit skill checks. Then at that mmr it doesnt matter what you run because you dont even need any perks to 4k

Depends on my killer. I've already said that I'd bring Eruption on Wraith, that's a build I like quite a lot.

I wouldn't assume everyone that disagrees with you must be a biased [Other Side] main. It's going to make you look pretty silly sometimes.

Yeah people who think running 3-4 gen regression perks is the same as having 1 single decent gen regression perk clearly play both sides. Funny part is I'm more of a survivor main. I just play killer when I get tired of dealing with awful solo q teammates. Speaking of which this thread reminded me of that. Time to slug and camp, hopefully the survivors don't mind :)

I've lost(1k or 0k) maybe 10-15 matches with Spirit since her rework, and I've played her post rework for about 50-100 hours.

So imagine my surprise when I see people talking about how weak she is in another thread, it's not like I'm bringing the unholy add-on combo all Spirit mains know, but a yellow speed and charge time/duration add-on combo is enough to beat a decent SWF, combine this with the fact that she can use pretty much every gen regression perk in the game, and can use Tinkerer and Discordance, and you can give even the sweatiest SWF's a run for their money.

She has a lot of options and isn't too add-on reliant either, especially after the bug that froze her momentum in the beginning of her phase was fixed. She's a very comfy killer to play, she's not as strong as Nurse or Blight, but doesn't require as much attention and mechanical skill as them.

I think she's one of the more balanced killers in the roster, there's a lot of room for counterplay, but not too much that the killer feels like their decisions don't matter that much... that is unless the Spirit uses the unholy add-on combo(MDR + Cherry Blossom), but once that's nerfed she'll be in a good spot.

I've never seen anyone say spirit is weak. She's clearly S tier along with Nurse/Blight

  • @Pulsar said:

I think it comes from one happening much more than the other.

    They should still address both.

You are telling me survivors finish 1/3 of a gen and decide to run off and ignore that gen? Tunneling is just finishing off the job. Survivors wouldn't consider not finishing a gen for no reason.

  • There is not a singular hook where you can prevent survivors to get to it by blocking 1 way. So your made up scenario is totally fair

It's not even a comp game though. You get nothing for gaining mmr. It's not even public. Bhvr didn't want to anyone to know how mmr is gained or lost because they didn't want people to game the system to intentionally gain or lose mmr. People CAN be competitive but the game itself is not competitive whatsoever.

Who cares if someone tries to go for 11 hooks? Why does it matter to you what others do and find fun in this game? What's wrong with this community?

Its not a comp game. But they have mmr. And they are constantly balancing things. Sure sounds like a comp game to me. If it wasnt comp it'd be completely random matchmaking and they wouldnt worry about meta or balancing things

  • This is a comp game (which is why the game is always being balanced and theirs mmr etc) so why would a killer have to be nice and go for 11 hooks? What is wrong with this community?

What killers you play? As Spirit sometimes I have to do lunge attack into the window because otherwise I will not reach the hit from phasing, as Blight I can’t bait DH forever because it’s only 5 rushes, as M1s I need to play 50/50 around pallets when survivor is injured. DH into Knight’s guard, DH at corner against Huntress, DH at Plague’s puke, DH at Demogorgon dash etc etc etc… Stop saying that successful DHs are killers skill issue because sometimes you have to hit or survivors can react to hit.

OK I agree that for certain killers like nurse where it's more obvious when the attack is coming DH is a bigger issue. But that's only for a few killers (and really only ones with strong chase potential aka nurse, blight, spirit etc). For m1 killers, dh is rarely an issue and that's what everyone makes it sound like.

  • Great, shorter q time for me. Thanks for the sacrifice!

Dead Hard will drop usage for a few weeks then people will start bringing it again, because it's still a perk that provides on demand access to a 3rd health state. People are really fooling themselves if they believe this is a heavy nerf to the perk.

Yeah on demand 3rd health state. It's funny when people say this stuff how obvious it is what their mmr is. I'd say 1/10 dhs work on me when I play killer.

Well, if your experience is truly that barely anyone uses DH at pallets, loops or windows to deny lunges, then I'm sorry to break the news to you: You are playing bad Survivors. Which means the game has determined that you are bad at Killer.

And since matchmaking seems wildly inconsistent, you have to be pretty bad not to be seeing Survivors that consistently use Dead Hard correctly. As I said, I'm not that good and it happens basically every time I run into a DH user, especially on sweat squads, so I have no idea where you're getting this notion that barely anyone uses DH in an uncounterable way.

This is a perk that's been meta for years and years, and persisted through multiple Mid-Chapter perk updates as the most-used perk. I think people have earned the right to complain about it. At the bare minimum, people aren't going to be satisfied until it's not a regular presence in their matches anymore.

There's lots of annoying things in the game, but most of them are just gimmicks. Which is why you don't hear Flashbang or Blast Mine or Impossible Skillcheck Doctor get nearly the same level of vitriol that Dead Hard does. Dead Hard is annoying, extremely prevalent, and very powerful even at the highest skill level. The perfect formula for a perk that the playerbase will absolutely despise.

I'll take your word for it if you yourself don't use DH, but make no mistake: Dead Hard is a crutch perk. I've seen many, many Survivors who, with any other Exhaustion perk, against any decent Killer, would be absolutely torn to shreds.

This narrative is so funny. The better the player the more value you get out of DH. And good players can easily play without DH.

  • @Crowman said:

Dead Hard is barely getting touched.

The reason why camping and tunneling are still in the game, is because the ultimate goal for the killer is to kill survivors. Survivors cannot be allowed to have invincibility states as the killer should always have the threat of killing a survivor. Not to mention any sort of invincibility is going to end up being abused. The only way camping/tunneling would be removed would is to completely rework the game which there is really no need to do, because DBD is doing just fine as it is.

Someone who thinks dead hard is barely getting touched is probably someone who doesnt even use dh because they fail at it all the time.

  • They literally cant do anything because people complain? I think you need to look at that sentence again

  • Good survivors will be able to run m1 killers around forever. There's a reason the only killers that can stomp in a comp game is ones with some power.

  • It's a game, try and have a little fun.

  • Did you even read my post? What about it is doom and gloom? I said the steam charts will show if people will quit or not. I didnt say all people were quitting. In fact the point of my post was to show there is a way to prove that people DIDNT quit

  • OK so apparently if you don't hit and run (which is done by about 3 or so killers) that means the only other option is tunneling. Great logic guys. So whenever you play a non hit and run killer, lets say you play against a wesker. You 100% are getting tunneled because he doesn't do hit and run tactics. Yes that is correct you guys clearly play the game.

    1. Camping is the most boring thing
    2. Ruin+Undying is the most boring thing
    3. Slugging is the most boring
    4. Anti-loop kills are the most boring
    5. Tunneling is the most boring thing
    6. 3-gens are the most boring
    7. Hit and run is the most boring <----------------- you are here.
    8. Pressuring gens is boring
    9. Anti-Healing is boring
    10. Killers even playing the game is boring

    Meanwhile:

    JUST PRESSURE GENS KILLERS.

Exactly what kind of "play style" should killers do, that is a viable way to win, that isn't boring to you?

Normal chases. Your example is great. Have you seen me say anything about the other metas being boring? A normal chase meta is fine. Hit and run is boring aka why people have always hated legion.

    Guess you prefer tunneling instead?

If you don't hit and run that doesn't mean you have to tunnel. For example see pretty much every single game lol
