Freddy was released Oct 2017. His major rework hit PTB July 2019. People were given a year to figure him out.

It wasn't just people whining about how weak he was - the disconnect rate against him was astronomically high. He wasn't fun for either side.

Please get your fact straights before you present misinformation.

He was nerfed a week or two after release due to bad review spamming on Steam. Then a rework was promised later on, correct.

They dont design killers to be good they design them to be fun*

*fun for survivors. Killers fun not guaranteed

You really circle-jerking a Killer being weak on release day rather than seeing how people play and learn how to play it first!

No wonder nobody can take this forum seriously.

Survivors should not be happy bcs they will barely see Trickster players in high ranks. With MMR on, they will continue going against Nurses and Spirits, where is variation?

The Twins are extremely powerful and I very rarely see them. Idk what you're on about LOL.

  • Don't play the Trickster then. People also called Freddy bad and then he turned into one of the easiest Killers to play in the game because of a few people whining about it before even giving anyone a chance to learn the new Killer.

Regardless of our feelings the EU is now subject to GDPR and as ridiculous as it may sound to some of you I am curious as to how this impacts us.

    What constitutes personal data?

The GDPR applies to ‘personal data’, meaning any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier. This definition provides for a wide range of personal identifiers to constitute personal data, including name, identification number, location data or online identifier, reflecting changes in technology and the way organisations collect information about people.

The Dead By Daylight developers aren't providing a 'streamer mode' which a vast majority of the streamers have been begging for because they have been streamsniped with malicious intentions as well as held hostage by said streamsnipers.

    It's not a one-way street.

  • Actually insane how some of you behave here. Let me let you in on something here. I am a permanently sick guy because I have epidermolysis bullosa dystrophic and suffered a superinfection on both of my legs which almost lead to me losing them. I use streaming as an outlet to not feel lonely and try to live without pain killers destroying my body.

Due to COVID19 I can't even go to a gym to better my body and get in shape because of COVIDIOTS and you are telling me you should be entitled to money just because I am streaming? On top of that, if there's one thing I enjoy most about streaming is that when people tell me I was able to put a smile on their face.

I don't know who you are watching to get this stereotypical hate picture imprinted on you that you seem to have but please don't label every streamer the same just because you dislike 1 of thousands of streamers.

I don’t want to be in your video. I don’t want to get hate mail and such from your toxic followers. I don’t want you to make money off me playing and you being toxic towards me for the views. If I’m forced to dance for you and your viewers amusement I would at least like to be asked first. I have rarely if ever gotten a positive experience from having a TTV in my lobby.

Hey, can you show some screenshots of the hate mail that you are getting? Make sure to black out credentials as to not dox people. I'm actually rather surprised that you are getting emails even though nobody can tell your mail from a username in a game. Do you have your email in your name? That's really dangerous.

The GDPR states that for data to be processed anonymously, the process that results in anonymity must be irreversible, because

Data that has been encrypted de-identified or pseudonymized but can be used to re-identify a person is still personal data.

    And now under "pseudonymization"...

Pseudonymization is when data is masked by replacing any identified or identifiable information with artificial identifiers.

Although it can be a great way to protect the security and privacy of personal data – pseudonymization is limited. Even though pseudonymous data will not identify a person directly, they can be indirectly identified relatively easily.

Some examples of this type of personal data include

    • An internet user name, such as a name used to post to an online discussion forum.
    • Any social networking data, such as a person’s friend list and login information.
    • Internet user-generated data – data that is knowingly generated by an individual, such as discussion forum posts, internet searches, and personal data that they input into their social networking profiles.
    • RFID codes (radio frequency identification)- RFID chips will usually include an identifiable unique number, which individualizes any property to which it is attached and can therefore be used to identify someone.
    • Unique identification numbers on personal devices. For example, Mac addresses, IP address, Bluetooth number, International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number, or Near Field Communication number.

    Source: https://www.gdpreu.org/the-regulation/key-concepts/personal-data/

Now, you can say that streamers would be unlikely to go for the ID64, and that's probably correct, but it's not what you were saying before. You were implying I was talking out of my ass and spreading misinformation. I expect an apology.

Also, keep in mind this is not just about Steam. There are multiple other platforms that do not let you change usernames at will, and people on those platforms play DbD as well.

EDIT: And, just because I don't want to be accused of providing legal counsel, I am not a lawyer, this is not legal advice, and you should see a lawyer if you want legal advice.

You started digging up legitimate information after you have been called out, you won't be awarded an apology. On top of that, you aren't targeted specifically by any streamer streaming the game. They're just enjoying the same game that you are enjoying and streaming it. I doubt anyone in their right mind would go to court with "I saw Streamer X streaming the gameplay footage of [DATE, TIME] with me in it and demand a trial."

    (1) 'personal data' means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ('data subject'); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person;

    Source: https://www.privacy-regulation.eu/en/article-4-definitions-GDPR.htm

I'm not talking out of my ass, that is what the GDPR seems to be saying. However, because I'm not an expert, I explicitly said so and also advised Tsulan to consult someone who is.

I am guessing the "online identifier" is what you are so wild on. In Steam's case that would be the ID64 because that is the definitive ID to your account that does not change. Even the web address to your profile can be changed at a whim, not just the nickname. I doubt Streamers would go out of their way to fetch people's ID64 while trying to enjoy the game.

    • "I'm not a lawyer"
    • "might"
    • "can be argued"
    • "not a lawyer"
    • "speak with a lawyer"

I was clearly speculating and said as much, even advising @Tsulan to speak to a lawyer because I don't know which laws apply in his country. Why the hostility?

You are very much spreading misinformation and then excusing it by going "I'm not responsible". Just don't comment for a change if you have nothing substantial to say.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2021987#Comment_2021987

I'm not a lawyer, but under GDPR you might have some sort of argument for having the video censored and/or deleted, since it can be argued that it contains personal information. Of course, that presupposes you are in the EU. Not many places have passed privacy protection laws that apply online.

EDIT: Again, not a lawyer. If you want legal counsel, then speak with a lawyer and/or some institution in your country that provides legal counsel. We can't know which laws apply to your country.

All of this is false as no personal information is being displayed. A nickname that can be changed at will online does not classify as personal information. Cut the crap.

You’re going quite off topic sir. I perfectly understand that the game is (imo) in the best state it’s ever been for killer. And I 100% disagree with that basekit Ruin post.

None of this changes the fact that damaging generators, at base, is a weak action for the alleged ‘power role’. If they’re not going to introduce a game mechanic to hard counter gen tapping, the least killers deserve is for that gen to lose immediate progress without the help of a perk.

You really don't 'deserve' anything as Killer atm. You said it yourself, best it has ever been for Killer. Really shouldn't buff them anymore.

  • @GoshJosh said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2021381#Comment_2021381

Survivor main here, and I agree with at least 2-3% base generator damage. I’d even say 5%. It’s ridiculously stupid how little return a killer can get due to gen tapping.

But I would also want Pop nerfed to 20% if this buff took place.

Killer players already have so much handholding it's insane. And on top of that bloodlust still exists and maps are being reworked with less than 10 pallets on some maps and then others with 20+ pallets (The game vs Chapel in the same patch.).

There was a proposal by someone as well that "All gens should regress when the survivors don't work on them". It's so incredibly out of touch. If all maps were somewhat evenly balanced in terms of playability I could remotely think about a flat regression for a kick but the maps are despite the reworks not in a good place.

  • I like how you 'killer mains' are throwing numbers around like you know what you are talking about whilst most good players kill everyone at 3-4 gens to go.

I mean some survivors say stretched res is fair but j flick blight needs removed. One you edit your resolution so you can see over loops. The other actually involves calculating when to increase your dpi and muscle memory of the full 180 so.... both need fixed but stretched has been around for far longer.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5VOS1XQNBUX7/wkjomvdgwy151.png

"One exploit has been in the game for longer, therefore.."

Let's not. You are partially right of course. And it's hilarious that some people think "It is fair" to stretch resolution for gameplay advantage. I agree that both need to be fixed as soon as possible. Both are advantages that shouldn't be accessible the way they are.

That's the problem with killer: having to retreat from good survivors/tiles. And assuming there's no weak link, you're just screwed.

That's not a problem. You can go on about it in so many ways now. You can have a tinkerer proc to sneak up and keep tabs on generators. You can force super aggressive gameplay with Enduring/Spirit fury. I don't know where you are getting this from that there is a "problem" with Killer. Killer gameplay has never been as easy as it is right now.

Tiles are made so that they aren't super safe anymore except for a few ones here and there. Where you can hit Survivors now on big loops without bloodlust is where you used to need old Bloodlust Lv1+ to even get the hit.

It's okay to lose. You can learn something from that.

  • @Toybasher said:

On the discussion with Billy, I'd like to note for some weird, inexplicable reason, your controller sensitivity affects Billy's "Super-Steering" at the very start of a chainsaw dash. Even if you're on a mouse and keyboard and don't have a controller plugged in.

I have no idea if it was ever patched, (have not tested it) but with it cranked to max you'd have normal sensitivity when playing normally, yet able to do practical greater than 180-degree turns during that "Super-Steer" window which allowed some insane curves and physics-defying maneuvers.

I think the sensitivity thing is in fact unintended since controller sensitivity when using a mouse and keyboard should affect nothing. Now I'm curious if controller sensitivity affects anything else like Oni or Blight.

It's most likely very unintended. But they have never addressed it. So it's probably spaghetti code issues.

I can't believe the fun bus survived the map rework. It's a really unhealthy tile variation.

You could just wise up and not follow a good survivor to a good tile.

But hey, that's just my 2016 talking. Keep holding W.

You might as well clip the whole thing. First he explains how the blight "Flick" is supposed to work. You activate your power, use your limited camera control to look in a direction, then you start the lunge and get more camera control and can turn more.

The DPI lunge is plain and simple going beyond what is intended and might as well be called an exploit.

  • You probably haven't played the PTB LOL

  • What is the intention of the Hex: Ruin change? The new version only seems to benefit already strong Killers (Nurse, Billy) that have the pressure.

  • Maybe a normalized penalty of minus 50K Blood points per DC would be a good idea too.

  • So it would overlap with the current No One Escapes Death? I am personally not a big fan of that because I like how every perk has it's individual workings and such.

However that would definitely be a possibility and give the survivors a reason to do totems.

  • Having to run 3 seconds to activate Sprint Burst is simply to tone down an already incredibly forgiving perk. You know how most people use it.

As for franklins, it was okay the way it worked back when flashlights were incredibly powerful. They're not anymore so this perk needs to be toned down.

  • Deja Vu is a perk that deals with this.

There's also the fact that there's 4 survivors and 1 killer. So unless the Survivor team is incredibly badly coordinated, even a 3gen shouldn't stop them forever.

  • This is like reading a comedy flick

The point is that this change affects killers who want to play in a toxic way, I don't give a crap if I'm winning a match, I won a match if the SWF feels like their time was cheated away from them.

and that's fine if you want to play like that, but don't cry when there are changes to balance this.

Meanwhile survivors get to keep all of their toxic crap like SWFs and teabagging at the exitgate with no repercussion because BHVR thinks money is more important than integrity.

I don't need to dodge SWF, I don't have an issue with them, it's clearly the way you play.
Also, anyone that complains about T-Bagging is just beyond helping, just walk towards the survivor and they'll leave lol.

SWF was always intended, so was comms, so is tbagging, so is tunneling & camping.

SWF is still a [BAD WORD] miserable feeling, I don't even give a ######### if I 4k these ppl so it has nothing to do with playstyle, heck SWFs most of the time are probably easier if you want to play cheesy/campy because they will try stupid ######### to have fun beyond holding down M1.

It's just a [BAD WORD] miserable feeling that SWF are sitting there having fun with 3 other ppl while ur sitting there alone and even the game doesn't favor you.

This'll sting, but I'll tear the band-aid off:

They won't balance the maps, if they wanted to they would've already. Not making the Corn-Twalls see-through is not a hard thing to do.

Because they also never wanted to make dedicated servers available. But that happened. And they never wanted a Clown Killer. And that happened too. Stop.
