And may I ask exactly where all of you were during the launch of his re-work? Because very few people seemed to be complaining at the time.

    But regardless, the general survivor consensus is that Freddy is no longer fun to verse. I, however, see little reason to support this claim. For example;

Stuff that you have to keep track of against Freddy

    • Your sleep timer

One of the most important things to keep track of. As long as you're awake Freddy has effectively no power. This makes him completely unique in that his potential is determined by the survivor's decisions.

    • Dream snares/pallets

With snares, it's more about trying to get into the Freddy's head and predict where he's going to place them. Since the threat of snares often shuts down a loop, this means that survivors have to plan where they are going during a chase way ahead in advance.

And with pallets it's just another thing to memorize in the map, like pallet locations and loops.

    • Freddy's position

Another obvious but still important factor. Since Freddy can teleport and falling asleep means losing the ability to tell how close he his, survivors have to actually use their eyes and tell where he is coming from. This also encourages learning the layout of maps and generator spawns.

So tell me, people who find Freddy boring, how exactly is keeping track of 3x the factors than a normal killer would offer somehow make Freddy brain dead to play?

Because I can certainly tell you that when I play Freddy "just spamming snares and teleports" isn't a viable way to play him.

It's like the Spirit... you play this killer first time, and you are GOOD, very good. My first round with Freddy (I had no perks or addons, on Rank 4) was a 4k. The Matchmaking was also okay, one red rank and 3 purple ranks. And that's not good, thats not a good gameplay design, its boring. :/

Simple question, which killer in your opinion has the best custom menu music?

I hate him, but Hillbilly. Billy's new menu music is so cool!

Has anyone else been experiencing sounds bugs at Midwich? For some reason this map is the only map in the game where the sound effects keep bugging in and out and it is very odd. I'm not talking about the survivors grunts of pain going silent, I'm actually talking about every sound effects, and it only seems to be at Midwich.

Yep, Soundbugs/Soundstutters, FPS drops to 40/50FPS with High End Hardware, only on this map. And the sad thing is: it will certainly never be fixed.

It's probably been asked before, but I'm gonna ask anyway. I personally really dislike the new one, it's all over the screen.

No joke, I like the new HUD, sure, it's confusing, but you can get used to it and it looks more contemporary

I've been playing DbD for a month now, and found my way to rank 4 (the first red rank) on both sides. But it seems to me almost everyone is miserable playing this game, so I'm very torn about investing more time on it.

Coordinated SWF's make the game unfun for killers, which then have to be too strong for uncoordinated solo-q survivors, which in turn "sabotage" the game for SWF's, thus creating an unending loop where everyone is unhappy most of the time.

A good part of the community seems to expect this to be a competitive game, but everything I have seen the devs saying so far is almost the opposite of what proper balance for a competitive game should look like. Nothing is meant to be fair, and apparently by design. This should appeal to casual players, but I don't think anything will ever appeal to them in an exclusively PvP game.

I'm really unsure why I should sink in any more time on this if it's not possible to see this as a serious competitive game, but also not as a chill casual one. Any thoughts?

I still play the game because I enjoy the competition, love the characters, love the gameplay... and invested tons of time and money. In my opinion, it is a competitive game, and I play it like that. But that's the thing: You can only play it on this way, when you have thousands of hours of experience, and a lot of players have that experience. For casual players, once they get into the red ranks, the game is terrible, I can understand that, but it is what it is. Everyone plays the game in their own way, and if you don't have fun with your way of playing, the game is not for you, or you have to change your style of play. The problem can only be solved if Behaviour adds a "Casual" mode and a "Competitive" mode. And I think that's going to happen, otherwise a large number of players could leave the game, and nobody wants that.

I was SUPER DUPER laggy and was downed. Then I was slugged and picked up by my team. When I was up again I was able to sprint around with sprint burst speed PERMANANTLY... Or so it seemed when I got hit by the killer again I was returned to normal. Just FYI I didn't really use this to my advantage the game was basically over and all gens were done and gates opened. I just ran around enjoying the bug for a second saw the killer and let them hit me and it fixed it.

Yes, a speed bug is currently going around. Many times, one or more survivor are faster than the killer (no sprint burst, constantly running faster, maybe ~20% more than usually). But if you downed the survivor, the speed is gone. The bug happens very rarely, but anyway it's annoying :/

Can't repair from this side or the opposite side for some reason

Yeah, many Gens on the Swamp Maps are bugged. The Gen on the mini-boat is a fat shame for killers, you can't go arount it, its too small, but survivor can. :/

  • My first Killer was Amanda, but now I'm a Leatherface main, because he's (in my opinion) the best and balanced Killer in the game, so I would recommend Leatherface to you. Since the rework his ability needs a lot of practice, if you want to start with something easy, I recommend Amanda (SAW DLC) or Freddy.
