Yeah, they took it away on XBox also which is bullshit.

I would even take it that you can just dump perks without getting anything. I have only just finished up LVL 1 of all survivors, along with some killers getting up there, and I can't stand the clutter of items I will never use.
-
3 ways I consider it a win is of course escaping so I can heal and get back at it. Doing a nice long chase that the others get at a good chunk of gens worked on or completed is better, even if I am downed and hooked at the end. Also like everyone else says, the killer gives up and goes after someone else.
I am great at looping, not great at turning back at them to get them a miss swing but I do pull it off now and then.
-
I ignore it, as you said it is just a boring grind and I would rather play and have fun.

I love how people treat the DBD roles as if they are political parties, and then strawman these types of motives onto others.
I do not "main" either role. I have not suggested here, or anywhere, that I support camping or tunneling as effective strategies, so what you're saying here makes no sense. And, if anything, I can't imagine a scenario where a hook suicide is anything but helpful for the killer. I made this suggestion mainly as an idea to ensure that survivors don't have to deal with the kinds of wrecked games that result from their teammates suiciding on hook.
My apologies, reading through the comments about players doing it at the end I forgot this was more about doing it at the start. Yes, that is annoying as ######### as a survivor and if playing as a killer I will then usually let the last person go as I don't care about the pip.
-
I love how killers will stand firm that camping and tunneling are legitimate strategies, but then whine and ######### on hook suicide. To use something from your playbook, that is a legitimate strategy, get good.

The option is there for the people that need it; whether to get out of a "hostage game" or to deal with real life.
The thing is, hostage games aren't common. Plus you can save footage from it and use it to report the offending player(s), because that is a VERY bannable offense. It's also harder for survivors to take the game hostage, so if you're encountering it a lot, swap sides and enjoy the killer side of life for a bit (it's better than it used to be).
As far as real life interruptions (maybe from some kind of health emergency or just answering the door), if its not something that you are willing to temporarily AFK for, then it will probably take the length of your 5-min penalty to finish sorting it out. No-harm, no-foul. If you're being interrupted so much as to rack up a really long penalty... well, maybe you should be playing something solo that you can pause instead.
It's not that this is something they don't want players to use. They just don't want people to ABUSE the option to disconnect (such as with rage-quitting or these 'tactical disconnects'). And before the penalty existed, a lot of players DID abuse this power.
Going back to the top: 'Tactical disconnecting' is basically an exploit anyway. With this tactic, survivors are abusing a game mechanic to try and get one survivor a free escape. Hopefully they'll just implement some kind of short delay (equivalent to the sacrifice animation) on the hatch opening when the penultimate survivor quits, it would probably kill off this strategy.
It is getting worse again unfortunately, it is also not real simple for people to start recording the game and then having to take the time to upload that and file a complete report about it, although I play on XBox and I know it is a lot more simple to record on the computer. I just want to get to a game where people are actually playing the game.
If there is a real life need to go away then just shutting the game down completely wouldn't be an issue as you are probably going to anway. And if they want to eliminate "tactical disconnects" then they should remove the option. Becomes a LOT less appealing when you have to restart the game completely over. But you leave a game that the people are farming or holding hostage and then you are punished for not wanting to be a part of that.
I do try the Killer side now and then, but it just does not have the excitement for me that the survivor side has. Trust me, I wish it was as exciting to play as the killers are fun.
-
They have the option to leave the game right there. If they don't want people to do it, take the option away. They are penalizing people for using an option they are given. Plus if you are in a toxic game with people holding the game hostage you are penalized for wanting to get out and get into a real game.

For whatever reason I can't see any of Judgement's posts past the tony hawk one but I wanted to explain my personal issues with the current monetization issue
Whereas a dedicated player like me is willing to shell out for a dlc every 3 months it's getting increasingly harder to get new players into the game because the price to play the full game (and yes, that's how a lot of people see the dlc) is constantly rising along with money coming from cosmetics and, soon, the battlepass.
I kinda wish the game would go free to play and give some auric cells to owners or something. Just so I could actually get people to try the game out despite the price tag of all the licensed content.
I agree, I came in later and that was a lot to buy, but I liked the game and wanted to enjoy it and had the money to get them all over a little bit of time. I know some people will swear against this idea, but do like they do with other games and after an add-on has been out for so long, add it into the base game you buy. You will still have people buy the add-ons right away because they want to play the new characters, but then if the add-on has been out there for a year or so, it gets bundled in so new player see all that they are getting for the price and takes advantage of a great deal to try out a new game. Would not be any different than buying a brand new game for $60 and add-ons for $20 each for a year or two, and then they release a GOTY Edition with all of the add-ons for $50.

Would never be in the game, but my geek side showing, I want to play as The Borg! And survive as Captain Jean-Luc Picard.
-
I do not usually play killer and still low rank on Demogorgon, but I have fun playing as him. He will be one of my most played killers.
-
When I play as Dr for the challenges, I agree. I think it is completely stupid that I can get people to scream without even sending off a charge. I am not even looking in their direction or trying to send a charge, they scream off to my side and then I get them. That 100% needs to be removed.
-
I love how killer mains always complain about gen rushing, but at the same time they will try and down the survivors as fast as possible. So wouldn't that be survivor rushing? Why do you have to kill every so fast? How can it be fun when you 4k games all the time. Why do you need to kill everyone so fast and then move on your next game to kill them all again. Get over it, that is the point of the game, finish the gens and get out.
-
This has to be the worst suggestion I have ever read in here, and there are some truly awful ideas in here. So if you are going to ban players that are not good enough, then you also have to ban players that are too good. Otherwise those players are also ruining the game for the "statistically average" player.
-
I don't use it because it is unfair, but I also shouldn't be subject to it as a survivor when it is that unfair also. It needs to be removed because it is so unfair and unbalanced. If survivors had any ability even close to that, killer players would be demanding it gets removed.
-
I do not remember what game it was, but there was a setting that could change it for color blind. That would be the best option for everyone, that way the game still has the colors intended how they want, but still works great for people who are color blind.
-
I do not think the items should be burned until the game has been going for 1 min. I have had too many games DC either before the game starts or within a min or so of the game starting. There is no reason items should be burned just because the killer does not want to play. But if you DC then you should lose everything.
-
With Adam Francis and his Deliverance you can have a 100% unhook waiting that you never get to use. I just had a game like that, he hooked me right at the trapdoor and walked off. I should have been able to unhook and escape, that on top of missing out on the struggle points. They can make it so if you do not try and escape within a couple of seconds, you die instantly and no points. If you try and escape all the tries available and fail, you die instantly and get your full struggle points. That gives the survivor the full opportunities they should have, but keeps the game from extending too long for the killers waiting.

I hate body blocking at camping, I will not do either unless the other side is doing either of them. If they want to abuse the game, then I will play that way. If not then i will play in a more fair way to all players.
