Every single time I play killer I get genrushed where is my anti-genrush mechanic
Base gen regression boost in 6.1, the base regression boost that came with the 3 gen change, the efficiency nerf when multiple survivors are on a gen, the increased time to gens over the years, the regression boost that was coming with the new anti-tunnel and slugging system, the nerf to tool boxes and brand new parts over the years. Also the introduction of regression as a whole since at launch that wasn't a thing.

I just came here to see if the totem addon was bugged. IDK why they thought making base maps not work with totems anymore was a good idea, let alone needing an addon that disables the entire other part of the map. I doubt I'll be using maps anymore.

If I'm killer and I get someone doing this, I usually slug them until bleedout or kill their 3 teammates, then bodyblock the hatch force them to do gens and power the gates before closing it and slugging them until bleedout.
You might be trying to go next to avoid the DC penalty but by god I will do everything in my power to ensure your gameplay experience is as miserable as possible so it's in essence about as fun as staring at the DC penalty timer.
Man, that's definitely going to solve the problem and definitely not just tilt more people.
-
Are people really surprised that people are still leaving games? It's not like anything was done as to why survivors were disconnecting or going next. All that happened was that you couldn't go next without an offering or a perk, and that DC penalties were made stricter. People are still gonna leave games and just eat the penalty. Until the why is addressed, it's gonna keep happening.
-
If you leave a game for whatever reason, you do not lose your DC penalty until you physically hit the play button again and start the timer.

My brother, the two people with botany would have been just as effective before the buff since they didn't bring a med-kit, and the guy who brought desperate measures died first with 10k points.

I'll go so far and say they all kinda suck. Maybe Conviction and Throw Down will get used occasionally, but the rest I dont see myself ever running outside of the ptb.

Unicornmedal gave a great answer above. And the crows changes was definitely the straw that broke it for me.
In general though as time has went by there's been more and more perks for killers to reveal auras, make survivors scream, notify them if a survivor does this thing or that thing. Distortion was a great counter but the changes to that made it fairly useless in helping stealth.
I can use calm spirit to help with the screaming but there's really nothing that helps in any significant way with the almost non-stop aura reveals.
Awhile back I equipped OOO for 15 to 20 games just to get an idea of how often I was having my aura revealed. I was genuinely shocked. I ran into a couple killers that didn't seem to run any aura reveal perks but most the rest of the matches I had my aura revealed in some way constantly. Factor in the matches where a killer played a scream perk and I realized stealth was pretty much gone.
There was a particular match that prompted this post though. 2 survivors left, killer slugged the third survivor and was looking for me. If I get taken down in that situation it's for sure game over. This was one of the rare matches the killer wasnt using aura reveal perks. I was slowly and stealthily making my way to the slugged survivor to get them up. Even managed to hide from the killer on two occasions while trying to reach the survivor that was slugged. So yes, I was going slow. No, I wasn't doing gens, totems, or anything like that but I was trying to get to the other survivor. I got within a few meters of the slugged survivor only to get a crow and be found. I got a rare match where I could have normally utilized stealth but recent changes made that impossible even though I was attempting to reach a slugged survivor.
I completely understand that something had to be done about survivors that just hide the whole match and do nothing. They annoy me too. As much as like to play stealth.... I do 2 or 3 gens during a match, unhook, heal, etc. But any changes made to punish survivors that do nothing but hide also punish stealth survivors that aren't just hiding in a corner.
That's why I say I get why the changes were made and I'm not here to say they're unfair or anything like that. But the bottom line is whether punishing stealth survivors was the point or not that is an unavaoidable side effect of the changes made to eliminate survivors that do nothing but hide.
There's also the fact that maps are getting brighter, smaller, and there is very little fog anymore, and with less stuff to hide behind.

Isn't it a free weekend? It's probably new players coming in using it because it's a free perk with the fact it shows gens and makes them go a bit faster.

Just had the same thing happen to me, on Pc steam.

did luck affect something other than rarity and hook chances? because prior to this as far as i knew it did nothing but those things because no one used luck offerings before this or just rarely
I think it used to affect untrapping yourself from bear traps, but I think it got removed a long time ago.

The first challenge for survivors is to finish 3 event generators, so most survivors are trying to get it done asap.

Can somebody tell the killers I've faced since this patch that slowdown is dead? I'm tired of going against Pain Res, Surge, Deadlock, no way out, Sloppy, Pop, and Corrupt.

Most survivor perks are not as strong on their own. However, you have ways of combining them to create builds that are incredibly strong in specific situations. That might be the main issue as a coordinated SWF can abuse that and dial it up tenfold. Also survivors have a total of 20 perk slots (base kit BT included) that can be used to create special builds.
Have you seen what Wiretap + Open Handed can do? Imagine that kind of information shared between all 4 survivors with the cost of only 2 perks.
As far as I remember wiretap doesn't work with open handed, unless that recently changed.

Not really, I'd been playing since the open beta back in 2016 and my enjoyment has been disappearing for a while now. I think it started with death slinger then pyramid head's introduction but the first big decline for me was around the time of MMR and Pinhead. MMR really killed my enjoyment and drive to play killer. MMR made the games where I would play my main killers extremely sweaty while it also didn't make the games where I would play a new killer any easier than before. I also normally play solo survivor and when pinhead came out every game would just be a stomp. At this point, I'm almost exclusively playing solo survivor and for a year or so the game just feels like it got much sweatier and more serious. Things like camping and tunneling grew, and new mechanics like scourge hooks and boon totems were added, (I think these were some of the worse additions to the game), but then the 6.1.0 patch came out. Once that came out it felt like the little wiggle room I had as a solo survivor was gone. Before I was able to use more variety of perks and perk combos but now they don't work together or they just aren't worth it. Then between games where it's multiple slowdown perks, tunneling, and people dc'ing it just gets exhausting and stops being fun. I think I just miss when the game was more casual.

It's possible it's bugged and not flipping to killer, it's possible the incentive is based worldwide rather than in specific regions, it's also possible the matchmaker itself is bugged somehow and just taking longer to put survivors in a lobby. It's also possible that nothing is wrong. We really won't know unless the devs say something.

I honestly don't understand why people think exponential is bad. I think it's pretty good

It's very conditional for you to get it to work. You need to set up the boon then end up going down in a specific area, then get slugged there long enough for you to recover yourself, and then hope the killer doesn't break the boon while you are slugged. If I was gonna run a slugging perk I'd always run unbreakable, it's simple and it does its job when it needs to.
-
Probably not. After seeing a paid game with hundreds of dollars worth of DLC, with a ton of paid cosmetics with a paid battle pass as well that would probably turn me away. Even if I played during a free weekend I'd probably just get way too frustrated at the grind for perks.

This entire thread (and most) can be summed up as:
Person 1: Hey, there's this bad thing in the game can we change it possibly?
Person 2: No we can't remove bad thing 1 because bad thing 2 exists on the other side.
Person 1: Well we can't remove bad thing 2 because bad thing 3 exists on the other side.
And so on and so forth. Everyone needs to admit that there are terrible things in this game on both sides that should be changed, and the devs need to come up with more permanent solutions rather than band-aid fixes.
-
I've been running Self-care, desperate measures, and botany knowledge. With the 4th perk being swapped around, I've used bite the bullet, dead hard, bt, or resilience. It's pretty fun, not many killers expect you to run something like this since boons were introduced.

Fix the terrible hitboxes in this game and she would be fine
-
One thing they could do would be allowing survivors to see each others ranks. Since SWF can already see their friends ranks, it wouldn't make that huge of a difference for them, but would give the solos a bit more info before the match. They could also let survivors see who is in a party before a match.

Honestly most of the m1 killers are decent, its just that the maps just keep getting larger and larger, most m1 killers just don't have a way to get around fast enough. Leather face is isn't a terrible killer due to how he has an insta-down but it just takes him to long to get around and find survivors. Trapper too, he is more based off of the survivors not looking where they are going but he can end the chase if they walk into the traps, he just doesn't have the time to run around and get all his traps set up, and on the extremely large maps he just doesn't have enough traps. I would be much more interested in seeing new maps that are smaller or a rework of some of the giant maps (looking at you Thompson House) to make them a bit smaller. I think that would help all the slow killers in the game more than just buffing everyone.
-
I haven't been able to play as killer for the past month and a half without 2-3 survivors disconnecting every match, I just don't understand how we had a working system for almost 3 years but now that dedicated servers are almost here, everything breaks and they can't fix anything until they switch. I just miss being able to play the game normally.
-
Would be nice to at least know who is swf in your lobby or at least just a number in the corner of the screen letting you know if there are any. Even just a blood point bonus for killers based on the number of swf in a game. At least then there would be a reason for playing against swf instead of just playing a harder match.
