  • From personal experience the main reason players disconnect (or rage quit) is because they're getting tunnelled or babysat on the hook. If a killer resorts to these cheap tactics and literally drives another player out of the game, they don't deserve to rank up.

So, are ya'll not reading/ paying attention to the comments about killers. How is it that killers keep getting buffs and keep trolling survivors and no one does anything about it. I have had to repeatedly report killers for trolling, not participating in regular game play, and unsportsman- like conduct and it doesn't seem like it does any good (and I know other players that have to do the same thing)? How is it that you are supporting a single player per match (one persons money) when there are 4 other people that are playing to have fun (x4 the funds).

This game is entirely Killer sided. Wiggle progression has been repeated reduced, on top of hooks being practically on top of each other. There are zero repercussions for killers face/proximity camping. Survivors should still me able to attempt to get off the hook during first faze if they haven't been hooked yet. Survivor is meant to be played in a teamwork mindset, however killers are allowed to slug and bate other survivors, which completely negates the motive for teamwork or any sort of co-op maneuvers.

I fully agree with this. I've said time and time again that this game is entirely bias in the killer's favor. For example, the killer gets to see the survivor line up in the 2nd lobby, items held, prestige levels, etc. This gives them a (huge) unfair advantage as they are able to bail out of the lobby if they don't want to go up against the prestige levels they see, but survivors don't get to see what prestige level the killer is until the end of the trial. This meant (because the matchmaking in this game is abysmal) that at prestige 25 I was pitted against a prestige 100 killer without the option (that the killer had) to bail from the lobby and not go up against them. Killer's can also see your screen name, again this is a grossly unfair advantage. I've had the misfortune of coming up against the worst campers and tunnellers this game has to offer. Sadly the thumbs down button appears to be just there for show as it doesn't seem to have any impact at all. There's one particular gamer who plays as the Wraith, and his camping (literally face to face with the hooked survivor) makes playing against him painfully frustrating. I hit the block button against his name, but that apparently only blocks communication from him. Three times, THREE times! I've had to endure being in a game with this clown because unlike him playing as a (cheap) killer, us survivors can't see the killer's screen name and therefore, don't have the same option to bail when we end up with someone we don't want to play with. Then of course, there are all the perks killer's get that make the game way more difficult for survivors. Having completed a trial recently, I had to wait a minute and a half to access the gate switch that was covered by the entity. Once I'd opened the gate I discovered that I had to wait an additional 40 seconds because the killer had another perk activated to block the exit. That's a full 2 minutes and 10 seconds that we were trapped in the game, despite having completed all of our objectives to get out. I literally yelled in frustration at how unfair that was, not only did it give the killer ample opportunity to get us all, but it literally wasted our time by barring us from exiting the trial. Survivors also suffer penalties like the exhausted status, broken status, deo wound, etc that have no counter part for the killers. Camping killers also don't endure crows circling around them for remaining in one place for an extended time. In fact, it's the distinct lack of penalties that allow killers to camp and tunnel. Even though this cheap tactic robs survivors of their objective points. Yep, this is definitely a one sided game!

Before i go any further and get basically harassed by the killer community I need to get this out, I mainly play killer, although of recent i've been playing a lot more survivor because my killer queues are max 15 minutes, i still do have more time on killer than survivor.

let me give you a bit of background info before going into my full on rant.

a month ago i went against a ghost face who was okay, i could loop them easily and had only gotten 1 hook until we realised me and my teammates were forced into a 3 gen... 35 minutes later of the ghost face just monitoring gens and hitting chasing survivors for 30 seconds, he got a 4k. This has happened a few more times on different killers (mainly doctor) but this leads me into the match i just finished no longer than 5 minutes ago which was against a doctor (on the nurse map idr the name i think it's crotus penn) he was easily one of the worst killers i've been against but he could get some pretty easy hits in near the end (due to no pallets and unfortunate gen palcements) but by the time there's one gen he had only gotten 3 hooks, the first was in basement and the other 2 hooks were trades. i just had a 45 minute game against a doctor running call of brine, overcharge, merciless storm and tinkerer in a 3 gen that he can patrol in less than 30 seconds, even with 3 survivors on one gen and the doctor chasing another survivor we were only still able to get about 60% of the gen done.

I genuinely hate complaining out loud in this game usually i may get upset here and there but i just tell myself to get over it due to there being some counter or a mistake i made but with builds like this where attaining 400% gen regression and 0 ways of stopping said gen from regressing unless you're insane enough to bring repressed alliance, it's impossible to counter, it may seem like i'm just malding and i will agree i am malding a bit BUT in my eyes this is worse than slugging or face camping because with those it actually has good counters such as base kit bt, unbreakable, soul guard. there is no counter to 3 gens and the only way to break a 3 gen is through the killer messing something up SO horrendously that survivors will have enough time to break it. in both examples both killers were bad and had 25% or less of their hook stages but because they ran a perk combo that can cause gens to regress just as fast as they progress, guess what? if the killer catches you they basically face camp the gen and you've now got to restart just to be disappointed again.

i really wanna preface this, i do main killer, i have over 250 hours on sadako alone and hundreds of hours on other killers, i just don't find it fair that there is no way against this way of playing the game and especially for solo queue

You address a really good point here, and the fact that you predominantly play as a killer makes it even more poignant. I mainly play as a survivor and have found myself in the exact same scenario you've outlined above. The game can take a painfully boring twist when you find yourself stuck between 3 generators that the killer is monitoring on a par with an ICU nurse checking your vital stats. Couple that with the killer hitting the gen to regress it, and you start to appreciate how it would feel trying to push an elephant up a steep incline. This has happened to me on several occasions and I have honestly found myself thinking "surely this is getting as boring for the killer as it is for us." I've even come close to just quitting the game because of how dragged out and infuriating it becomes. Kudos for bringing this up.

  • Wow! If someone being able to heal themselves in a video game offends you this much, you should probably get out more. Go for a walk in the woods and recharge for a bit. Just don't let something this trivial wind you up this much because it's just not healthy.

  • This is a major issue for me on Xbox One too, it happens every time I play. I get booted out to the main menu when I try accessing the rift/tome screen at the end of a trial. I get booted frequently when I try returning to the lobby after a trial. I also get booted when I try to join a party. It's absolutely infuriating not to mention time consuming, I have to reboot the game numerous times to get it to work. Furthermore, there's just a generic "an error occurred" message which doesn't give you any information on the issue.

any suggestions for when you don't have a favorite survivor to keep prestiging ?

Constructive criticism is far better than sarcasm. But in any case, as I pointed out in my original post the devs have given an unfair advantage to killers by allowing them to see what level we are while their's is hidden until the end of the trial. We all know the matchmaking on this game sucks, so that isn't even an issue at this point. Also, having a high prestige level doesn't make you DBD Pro, it just means you play a lot as one particular character. I'm by no means a whizz at the game, but when you notice yourself getting purposely targetted due to an unfair advantage, that's downright infuriating.

They don't seem to listen to any reasonable feedback on the subject. To avoid camping and tunneling there a few things that must ALL be done:

    1) BP penalty (aggressive, to the point where they lose BP)

    2) No iridescent shard accumulation penalty - possibly lose shards as well

    3) NO objective completion in that game (daily, rift, steam, nothing)

    4) Increased delay timer for their next game - 10 mins per occurrence should correct the issue pretty fast. Get these killers out of the queue

The problem comes in the talent of the devs - I don't trust them to be able to detect camping and tunneling especially when so many smaller bugs still exist (hitboxes through walls, timers, etc.)

These are some great suggestions and a really constructive response, it's nice to see someone actually grasped the opening post. I fully agree that there should be penalties in place for killers that camp within a certain radius of the hook. When a killer purposely stands directly in front of a hooked survivor to prevent them jumping off, and indeed letting their team mates anywhere near them, they should receive penalties. Cheap tactics like this not only rob the hooked survivor of their objective points, it null and voids perks like Slippery Meat and Deliverance. How is that even allowed?! Killers should not have the ability to block survivor perks in any way, it's brutally unfair and a prime example of how this game favors the killer. If a survivor loiters in one spot for too long crows start circling their head, yet this doesn't happen to killers when they babysit hooks, why? There is nothing remotely fair in only issuing a penalty like that to one side and not the other. There are also killers capable of taking down a survivor in a single strike, so when they resort to the cheap tactic of babysitting hooks, survivors attempting to rescue a team mate have no chance to escape. It simply becomes a vicious circle which robs the participating survivors of any decent score. Once again displaying the favorable benefits a killer has over survivors. I feel the 'thumbs down' button on the results page should be far nore specific. If a player receives a certain number of thumbs down for camping, then a penalty should be put in place that reduces their blood point score just like they reduce a survivors.

  • I can't agree with this post enough. Tunnelling and camping absolutely ruin this game. I actually play as a friendly killer solely to give other players a chance to earn objective points robbed from them by selfish players that resort to tunnelling and babysitting hooks. It's a cheap tactic that far too many players exploit because there's nothing in place to combat it. Makes what is essentially a really cool game profoundly frustrating and outright annoying.
