It was to be expected. It's an awful character, but I'd be surprised if devs just scrapped all the content they had probably ready in advance.
Let's just hope they will focus on horror themes in the future and we won't get more Mortal Kombat cosplayers as killers.

Why would anyone run overcharge after the ptb changes go live? It will only be useful if you are at some mmr where people can't hit skill checks. Then at that mmr it doesnt matter what you run because you dont even need any perks to 4k
It's simply funny to me. People often don't expect it the first time and I'm kicking gens for Nowhere to Hide anyway, so it just makes sense for me to take. I will probably still run it after patch goes live, just Eruption as a bonus.
In my case upcoming change will lead to less perk diversity, not more.
-
Sadako, cause people in soloq I meet rarely play well against her and my games devolve into me running around and trying to save potatoes from the fire only to get sacrificed/sweat for a hatch.
Snore Merchant, but for the reason how silly her animation is. I refuse to engage this badly designed character in any way. I just kill myself on the first hook and move on.
-
I usually only camp hook when survs pissed me off, cause in my case it's just counterproductive. Unless it's the last hook of the match and I'm not feeling generous, then I do it to force trade-offs. Standing in one place is just boring.
-
I'd like to actually see BHVR's data on those people running 3-4 regression perks. Seems kinda funky that killers en masse apparently opt out of using idk, aura reading or chase perks?
-
I've played her two times. I know she's top tier and everything, but that whole watching-the-floor thing is not for me. In contrast Blight just injects more drugs and goes on another rampage, he's more my type.
-
The only Freddy we need is the proper Robert Englund one with his voice, not that remake travesty.
-
Camera zooming exactly on Spirit's butt?
-
I'm having great fun with Forced Penance lately.
-
Oh, I'm sure all the killers will be running that new and improved Gearhead ๐
-
I'm only playing her with add-ons that make her copies solid and survs deaf for 6 seconds. Nothing like blocking shack for overconfident surv.

im rank1 and it depends on wich killer but nemesis i run franklin/eruption/callofbrine/lethal pursuer on ghost face i run merciless/thrilling tremors/ call of brine jolt on pinhead i run thrill of the hunt/sloppy/hex face the darkness/franklin on myers i run bamboozle/ jolt fire up terminus sometime i mix around things depending on addons but thats mostly it
Hex: Face of Darkness is nice, sometimes survs mess up a skill check on a gen while screaming and said gen exploses....just don't let the devs know, cause we aren't sure if its a bug or a future.
Have you tried perk Nowhere to Hide? It really works wonders. Very often gens pop cause there's a surv hiding somewhere near a generator. I get many hit's this way and as a bonus survs get a bit thrown off their game.
System that works for me is 1 regression perk, 1 aur perk, 2 for going crazy or just pluging the holes in my gameplay that come up.
Aura reading is killers best friend. New Gearhead will get update soon. Maybe it would be something useful in your builds?

you dotn get the point bro ! i do agree that you can build around palet. but you did agree that gens were going way too fast , wich is forcing you into playing a gen regression speed. the palet arnt a problem on itself but combined with the speed gens are going they are only giving so much times for the other 3 to complete gens ? i mean with 3 dozens of palets in each maps. you get the point
Well, I'm running exactly one regression perk - Overcharge - in all by builds, cause I like it. Sure gens are poping right and left, but I rarely get kills when there's more than two left. You must either be in MMR higher than me or should ask for advice - people on this forum are very helpful when asked a direct question. What are you running right now (perks and killer)?
-
No waiting at the exit gates to teabag.
I'm expecting too much, I know.
-
I'm starting to feel that some fellow killers are on the verge of a mental breakdown ๐
Yeah, gens are flying way too fast, but to say that survs don't have to be good to win is a bit much. If you struggle with palets there are at least 4 perks that could help you. You could take Enduring and Brutal Strength, palets won't mean much then. Or you can play Wesker/Legion. You can also bring a combination of Deadlock and Merciless Storm to slow down gens. Both perk are passive, they should buy you some time in your first chase.
-
I don't care about Snore Merchant. I will gladly take another Trapper skin though.

I've usually seen it be used more in terms of skill/game knowledge than hours. If one plays casually, they have a tendency to autopilot their gameplay. If they are taking the game more seriously, they are continuously seeking new information in the form of power mastery, macro strategies, and micro mindgames, tile/pallet spawn recognition, and more. There are people who can pick up a large amount of info quickly, and people who need to take longer to cement a concept. That's why I understand it to be effort instead of time.

There are numerous reasons matches can be wack. I think the most likely case is negativity bias. People can win 9 matches, but the loss against the sweat SWF ticks them off enough to feel like the game is unplayable. If you truly think your matches are crazy, I just ask you play and record 5 matches with the incentive favored on Killer, and 5 with the incentive favored on survivor. Watch the matches back afterwards. You should only be winning half of matches anyways, (or at least equal to losses, not counting ties) with a ~60% kill rate if the matchmaking is functioning right. One of the biggest factors is time of day at your region though.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3398452#Comment_3398452
I honestly preferred rank based matchmaking. It allowed me to 2-hook tango and let people go, but I could still get fun matches. Now I feel like I have to kick puppies just so the game doesn't force me to kick puppies the next match. Rank matchmaking gave me that nice middle-ground.
Yeah, I get what you're saying. I shouldn't be forced to murder baby survs at 4-5 gens just so my current killer stays afloat in some esoteric MMR system -.-
-
Fifth slot for universal perks for both killer and survivor is an idea at least worth testing. I think it would revitalize gameplay. Now let's badger devs to do it ๐
-
Can you go lobby shopping in higher MMR?
I'm not sure where I am, but not at the bottom cause I mostly get competent survivors. I'm starting to recognize sweat squads and opt out, same with ttvs.
But yeah, matchmaking in this game is awful. Yesterday I've ended up babysitting while playing Spirit, cause I got completely green team and couldn't bring myself to massacring them. It was strange, because I rotate killers I play and shouldn't get baby teams at all. It's just mean for the newbies -.-'
-
No face camping unless someone was tea bagging. Hatch for the last survivor if I saw him actually playing. Basically that's it for me.
-
In my experience things get better once you play for a few months. I play strictly solo and reaching MMR above ground level really improved quality of my team mates. Haven't met a Closet Claudette in a while. Killers are usually ok. Except Wraiths. Wraiths are never ok.
I mainly play killers so I'm rarely emotional about getting stomped.
-
I honestly haven't seen it in a while. I'm sure it happens, but is it really such a plague? When I play a killer acting like my little helper is a sure way to get face camped and tunneled out of the match. Banning people for two weeks seems a bit excessive though.
-
Pinhead with lightborn perk and tooth add-on, then go stand on a box. It will be removed in a few days but people hate it.

And yet, isn't it that attitude that got us here in the first place?
Could be, but I don't believe current situation can be fixed. I don't see the devs suddenly deciding to remove swfs, basements, flashlights, post game chat etc. and people suddenly becoming nice to each other.

I thought we wanted fewer toxic players, not more?
This community is beyond saving, one more toxic player on either side won't change anything.

If you want to tunnel or camp to win, that's fantastic.
I don't ever mind people playing to win, I do the same. I'll do whatever I need to in order to win.
However, he's not doing it to win. He's doing it, specifically, to make Survivors miserable because he's having a skill issue moment. "This is my game, and I'll make it the most miserable experience for survivors until the Devs decide to make playing killer normally not a clown shoe at decent mmr."
If playing basement Bubba is some cathartic experience for him, who am I to judge? You play to win, he plays to abuse survs. It doesn't matter. Devs won't do anything, cause there's no shortage of survivors.

Definitely not entitled or anything.
"I'll make Survivors miserable until I get what I want, reeeeeee,"
Definitively 4 year old throwing a tantrum material.
Idk, his post was quite funny.
Why should he gimp himself while playing?

Agreed. Delete the stupid blob.
You guys just need to get good.
Dredge is a sweetie and a very unique killer. He's also the only one that can turn into a horse. We deserve more lockers!

Well, learn to like it cause after next update there will only be more of it.

No DH, no fast heal med-kits, no multi-heal medkits so spreading pressure is viable.
I'm really not convinced. They will still heal extra quick and after one hook, if someone gets it, it's the same old DH. The only thing that may change is that survswill take some variation of info perk to get atlruistic healing.

How chase potential will improve. I honestly only see some cosmetic healing nerf.

Why weren't you playing like that to begin with, its way more fun to attack survivors indiscriminately. Not your fault someone couldn't leave the killer radius in time.
In low MMR people mostly weren't ######### and I viewed my role as a killer was there to make matches tense and fun.
Things changed.
-
I'm already adapting - I've stopped paying attention to who I am hooking. If it bleeds it goes on a hook. Doesn't matter if the surv been there a moment ago.
-
@Pulsar said:
It's unfortunate that people will use this patch as an excuse to camp more.
Killers chase potential was massively buffed and what we get out of it is people realizing all they need to do is facecamp someone as Bubba.
Care to say how?
-
Nope, I used to try and make fun games for survs, but I don't care about it anymore.
When playing as a surv I try to support other players simply because I can't do all gens by myself. Once the gates are open I'm out.

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/371496/how-do-i-pressure-competent-survivors
You dont always have to commit to your first chase. Many times I have been able to find a survivor out of position / in a deadzone simply by leaving a chase earlier. Don't do this all the time, such as if the survivor your chasing is going to be downed soon or if they are in a deadzone.
Yes, I often just wound and shoo away first survivor I find and go to patrol rest of the gens. I try to avoid having 2-3 survs working on a gen in peace at the start of the match. It works for soloq players at least.

180 sec when games last 2-3 mins with that gens lol
After some advice I got on this forum I manage to push games up to 5-6 minutes lol
-
The worst problem for me is Macmillan Estate and other permutations of it. You easily could shave off 50% of this map. When I see a bone offering I know the match will be awful.
-
I've never used Noed and have no plans to.
On surv I ignore Dead Hard cause I suck at using it.
-
I'm sure the same survs will be very happy when they will have to play against a bot in the future.
Have fun with something else. No point wasting your time on bullying simulator if it's that miserable.
-
I wouldn't mind if I could reactivate my hexes after 180 seconds or something like that or if hex totems were blocked by the Entity for 60 seconds at the start of the match. Right now the only hex that I feel comfy with is the knight's one. Others are usually gone before I get any use out of them.
-
I'm on medication most of the time, that's probably part of it. I also set my expectations at 1 kill. My best matches are when I just don't care. The other day I've wanted to meme with useless perks like Territorial Imperative and ended with 4k due to some bad choices made by survs. I stay away from exit gates unless I have reason to hang around there. Also ignore people that want your attention badly unless they mess up or are simply imcompetent.
-
I'm starting to warm towards Lethal Pursuer. Between it and Nowhere to Hide I usually get most of the info I need in early stage. For some reason I rarely see Distortion used and it's find with me - the amount of people that try to hide next to a gen is insane. It's a free hit or two most of the time.
-
Thanks everyone, I see great advice here. I already play a surv to farm bloodpoints and learn map layouts. Helps a lot, even if it's mostly boring. I also avoid popular perks like Noed. As some people pointed out I've noticed that the groups I'm facing are very uneven. For one decent looper I often get two who only think they're good.
I mostly enjoy playing Myers, Knight, Dredge and Clown. I also like Trapper cause he's fairly simple and pretty forgiving with my autistic approach - people make a lot of mistakes once there are 2 gens left and either keep forgetting about traps or just don't think that I'd rearm them at the same spots for two or three times. Obviously it doesn't work against smarter survs.
I also play Piramidhead, Artist, Doctor and Oni from time to time. Blight is cool, but I use power mostly to get around the map faster, cause even with the add-on targetting nearest surv in 16m I get confused -.-' I hate Nurse, levelled her just once and refuse to play as her at all.
-
I've started running Deadlock after seeing patch notes just to get used to it. I find it boring, but after they gut Overcharge, which was my favorite slowdown perk what do I have left? Maybe Ruin that gets cleansed in 3-4 minutes if I'm lucky? Or maybe Eruption if the gens don't pop before I down someone?
It sucks so hard, cause now instead of running just one slowdown perk and taking two fun perks I have to sacrifice something I enjoy just to have Deadlock on and derail one gen for what, 30 seconds? Awesome.
I'm looking forward to boosted Deerstalker and Shatter Hope letting me see totems in 2 meters.
-
Seems like that.
I've started playing 6 months ago and after clocking 1200 hours in this game I'm starting to think 'why do I even bother?". I wanted to play as some horror icons. Killer role starts to look like a joke.
How am I supposed to pressure people on maps like Macmillan? Against semi-competent survs I can at best focus on 4 gens max and try to protect those. What's funnier - I can only do that with some killers -_-'
-
Yeah, it's not going to be pretty. It's hard to control gens as it is now. Half of the time if I comit to a chase I lose a gen. Today I had one pop in around 15 seconds at the start of the match. In two weeks I expect it to get much worse. What frustrates me the most is that I will be forced to use the same perks over and over instead of trying fun builds.
-
Wraith. I rarely meet one that doesn't camp.
-
Deerstalker and Shatter Hope. They need to either be redone completely or made basekit for the killer.
-
I will just move from accidental tunneling to doing it on purpose. It's not like survs will kindly do their gens slower while I make sure to rotate my chases between them.
