Same here! Now they seem to be gone, though. I was kinda excited that I had got these freebies, thought it had been some kind of extra content for those of us who bought the chapter through Steam, but sadly they are gone now.

Came here to report this, the same is happening to me!

Every match of Killer I play is against SWF, very rarely do I play against SoloQ and I'm not at the top of the MMR either. I just bought Freddy after his rework, nothing but SWF's out the gate so far, all bringing their best tools and map offerings while I'm not even prestige one.
Sorry man. No one is always getting SWFS. The top of the top aren't always getting SWFs. This is the mentality though. Everyone is always getting SWFs. This is not a jab, but its the human ego talking. Of course you're always getting SWfs, right? Everyone is!
The MMR doesn't even work so it's not really "win win win" and then SWF SWF SWF.
Now this is agree with. Completely. I dont think MMR is working either. I don't think you're getting Swf swf swf either. Amazing lol.
SWF are sprinkled everywhere.
I also agree. SWFs are sprinkled in. Not given to any player, at any level, constantly. Anyone who says this really needs to bring their evidence, because its pretty much an eye roll. Everyone gets swfs constantly.
I'm in north america, there shouldn't be lack of players in this region.
I agree. Your player pool shouldn't be repeating if it is. Match making in general might just be busted lol.
I find it baffling that people will keep on repeating that SWFs are a rare occurrence, at best. They go on and on to claim that it is just a good team of randoms having an average grasp of teamplay, as if we killers cannot literally see where most players are based by checking their profile, when not outright seeing how the rest of the squad is on their Steam friends' list or how they post comments on each others' walls on their Steam profiles.
Like, I settled for the numbers provided by bm33 that SWFs haven't got an ABNORMALLY high survivral rate compared with full solo queues (although a 10% difference in high MMRs is a tad too much), but to even claim that we're imagining that recurrent SWFs are a thing in our experience is downright offensive. Out of seven matches I will usually get three with fully manned, 4-people SWFs*, with one match being made up of solo queuers and the rest being made up of any feasible combination that falls in-between.
*Yup, for those of you saying that 4-player SWFs are a one in a hundred thing, I regret to inform you that I never seem to get less than two for every seven matches, averaging three for every seven matches

Sure, I did try and knock out a survivor quickly from the game during Chaos Shuffle (the beauty of knowing that not everyone and their mother will have Decisive Strike),
Holey that is Boosting you MMR no to mention tying to get the easiest win in the game so u say u don't ty to boost you mmr but then go on to say that u tunnel in chaos hmm seems suss baccka u clearly play in a fashion that make getting wins fairly easy concidering you jist admitted to tunneling if u don't they don't have Decisive Strike so u are boosting you mmr when you are legit doing everything in you power to counter base kit gameplay to gain a completive advantage that it boosting true and true
I was not even going to answer this, as half of the post does not make any sense whatsoever, but if you read closely, I said that while I might have indulged A BIT on targeting a specific survivor during Chaos shuffle, it was a timed modifier; MMR should not be severely impacted and should have already reverted back to normal if somehow it had become "inflated" by my performane in Chaos shuffle. Note that my complaint with SWFs is from long before this latest round of Chaos shuffle began (even if my post is not), so no point in arguing that it had any impact whatsoever on my MMR.
Finally, I already said this and I dare say it again: it's not only about losing; I have an issue with SWFs because most of the time they are horrible trolls, even if I should end up killing all of them. Like, if I play one of the killers with which I have the highest kill ratio, I will probably completely wipe out 2 out of 3 SWFs that come my way (although admittedly when playing one of those killers I'm not particularly good at, they will probably get escape ratios like those I shared in my earlier posts). But that's not the point. the point is that it is boring, frustrating and completely ruins the game! Even getting a guy to a hook only for his squadmates to tank you, scoring you three free hits is nonsensical; afterwards you just go on a rampage and down them all; it's not about winning; it's about balance; it's about having fun, and SWFs destroy it for killers.
But as I said, I understand the numbers that bm33 provided and that it is highly unlikely that Behaviour should do anything to change how SWFs work, however toxic they may be. I concur with the others that it would make no sense from the developers' point of view to change the underlying logic of fully manned SWFs, even if it makes the game a rather unsavory experience for most killers. I would consider giving a haste bonus to the killer or something the more people are in a party, or a malus to the members of said party, but I understand that nothing beyond that would probably make any sense.

You killer mains are the source of it. Maybe stop asking for every good survivor perk to be gutted or stop tunneling/slugging so much that your mmr goes so high you get a competent non swf team that beats you?
You guys seem to cant process that while not common there are people who are not a swf just a set of 4 people who is on skill or better skill than you than even a average 4 man swf will stomp you.
You cant expect to have ez games all the time via solo q bullying. You got to accept that this game and any online multi-player game will have swf in it. Stop living in fantasy and give in to reality. You can always just play offline solo games or custom lobbies with bots.
Man, chill. I don't tunnel a survivor unless he asks for it (like teabagging or something) and I truly never slug a team. That's just distasteful.
Note that I am not speaking about win/loss ratio in my original post that you quoted; when I posted that, IIRC, I had completely wiped out two 4 SWFs in a string of six matches, with varying degress of success in the others. But it's not about winning, rather the toxic pestering, the egregious flashlights, the incessant bodyblocks, all of that kills the game. I'm not complaining because I lose, I'm complaining even when I win, because the whole squad dynamc kills the game. I even used to play a loadout with Starstruck and awakened awareness that destroyed wannabe rescue / tank survivros. It's not about winning. It's about having fun. You can even see my latest post before this one in which I talk about rough success ratio. It's about countering toxicity.

" Whenever I am playing against solos (easily recognisable when they are on different platforms and/or countries) "
I wouldn't use that to judge. I know of a number of people who play together on different platforms. Also back in the day when I used to SWF I would regularly play with people in different countries.
I think a lot of people overestimate how many 4 stacks they face. I'm 100% solo theses days and quite regularly get accused of being in a SWF. Even if you say "no" they don't believe you.
That's true, though it is worth mentioning that when I created this post I had payed like 6 matches against 4-survivor SWFs in a row and two of them admitted being all four of them together and other two partially admitted to it, IIRC. The others are subject of speculation and inference.

A 4SWF has a 43.09% survival rate, only 2.75% more than solo. Even at high MMR it's under 50% survival rate. There's no reason to give people playing with friends malus while giving killers a bonus for facing them when the survival rates are under 50%. Punishing half of the player base for playing with their friends when they have under 50% survival rate is how you kill the survivor player base, killers will get long wait times and eventually BHVR filling regular 1v4 lobbies with bots.
That could be it - I am probably in a High MMR and that's why the difference is so noticeable. Whenever I am playing against solos (easily recognisable when they are on different platforms and/or countries) I tend to fare way better, whereas 4-player SWFs are always significantly more difficult and coordinated (I noticed that I average something like four~three kills against full solo teams and two~one kills for 4-survivor SWFs, roughly, with other combinations falling anywhere in-between).
Oh well, I am a number's man; I do think a 10% difference between solo and 4-survivor SWF in high MMR is worrisome, but I would have thought the difference to be WAY greater than that (like 40% vs. 70%). I still think that a little bonus or malus here and there could help, but I understand given those numbers you shared that the devs and a majority of the playerbase should not feel the need to change anything.

If you watch the streams around release (they're on the official DBD YouTube channel) the devs talk alot about how the game is designed to be played with friends as an option. This narrative of "it was never meant to be" is made up by people who don't like SWF.
They were running out of time when release was coming up and had to decide between KYF and SWF at release - they went with KYF because they figured people would really want to do some private lobbies chasing their friends. When they announced this they said that SWF would definitely be coming after release.
As for comms in game they also addressed why they didn't - to save time/resources. They didn't see the point of making in game comms when people could use discord/platform comms to talk with their friends.
As for wanting to remove SWF from lobbies - when the devs shared stats with a breakdown of the player base SWF made up half of the survivor playerbase, 2SWF being the majority and 4SWF being at most 5%. If you were to remove SWF from the lobbies that would be half of the survivor playor base. Killers complained during 2v8 so much about wait times that they're now planning to add bots to event matches. If you remove half of the survivor player base from regular 1v4 that will definitely increase killer wait times and bots will be added to that queue as well. If you're fine playing against bots as killer then you are free to play the custom game mode now where you are guaranteed to never run into a SWF.
Then perhaps do as I said: give survivors who team up a malus: the more survivors team up, the greater their malus. Or give the killer a bonus! +2%/+3%/+5% haste bonus if pitted against SWF, for instance.

How about insted of blaming other and look at yourself before anything 🤔 legit most people only go againts solo queue with barley any SwIF so sounds like u are either 1 using game play mechanics in a way that will cause you too loosed becasue you are used to going againts solo queue or 2 u have to win at any cost no matter what can continue to boost you mmr so high that you now any go againts swif becasue they game is legit set you like this if you prosit to win especially match u know you shpuld have lost becasue it so easy to go from 0 to everyone dead with just tunneling 1 person sees it too often
I don't really follow what you wrote here. I'm not trying to artificially boost my MMR, is that is what you're saying. Quite the contrary, I'm more than content with being teamed up with absolute losers and destroying them utterly. Sure, I did try and knock out a survivor quickly from the game during Chaos Shuffle (the beauty of knowing that not everyone and their mother will have Decisive Strike), but then with non-modifier queue I try and pick them off rotating so that I don't get knifed with Decisive Strike.
Sure, if they should ever remove or nerf Decisive Strike…. oh boy, I would literally pick survivors one by one. But alas, that's never gonna happen.
EDIT: Reading your comment again, I get what you mean: nah, I don't tunnel survivors compulsively (mostly because DS makes it impossible to do so), so no, it's not that artificially inflating my MMR. I'm right where I should be, only that I'm constantly teamed up against 4-player SWF.
I just played four matches: three of them made of 4-players SWF. This is getting tiresome.

If you're going up against "so many" of these swf teams (despite 4man swfs who play super perfectly being incredibly rare), then perhaps they aren't actually swf at all. Perhaps you're in an MMR bracket that you shouldn't be and your opponents are simply better at the game?
Nah, double checked: literally all of them from the same country and they even admitted to being in squads (laughing it off, most of the time). I am talking about 4/6 games today being like this. Insane.
-
I won't quote every post since, but my point remains: if we do away with squads, the game will improve. Balance will improve. Everything will improve.
The other thing I could think of is introducing a malus. For each player you bring to the match, a -1% in speed or repair speed or something. It's time to put an end to SWFs for good. Who's with me?

Around half of all survs are in a two-man SWF, with far less in trios and even less than that in quads. But still about half. Do you have any idea what that would to to queue times for everyone, everywhere?
It was always intended to have SWF in the game, it just wasn't quite ready at launch and was quickly added in soon after. Imo they might have underestimated what effect comms and midigating the randomness of solo queue would have, but players pairing up was always intended.
The reasons for some perks being redundant using comms is just so those playing solo have more options available to them. They'd be insane not to think surv would use comms in some fashion, even in 2016.
The problem is there will never be a way to efficiently block all communications between survivors - even if you somehow installed something on the PC blocking all communication online, people could still call each other on Whatsapp.
No, SWF have to go, and the only way is to put an end to inviting friends on ranked. Wanna play with friends? Sure, make it unranked. But ranked should always be solo queue.
-
I also wanted to add that I tried with headphones and the problem persists, so my speakers can be ruled out as part of the problem.
-
I've been thinking about this for a long while already and it'd be a fantastic feature! I, for one, fully endorse it!

Same thing happened to me on this map! (Over 1.2 k hours and I still don't remember the name of each map :P).

On Steam you can click on every name of every player who is
a) on Steam
b) not anonymous
If they are either not on Steam (indicated by the Crossplay-Symbol) or Anon, you cannot click their name.
Oh, that's probably why, then. I know that folks with a globe next to their name are playing on consoles, but maybe those who have no icon next to them are playing on Epic or something, cause I can see their names, but can't click on "View profile" (which is greyed out) on the dropdown menu when clicking on their name.

Agreed, the previous Customization UI was way better than this.
If anything, we could use more loadouts; I hate only having three loadouts (I have like 5 different combinations I could do with Alan Wake or Cheryl Mason).

I can't really abide built in perks and blood lust gain is fine as is.
But I do agree there is nothing lamer than running around the same rock 4 times. It feels so scooby doo not halloween.
I'd like to see some kind of accumulative risk beyond bloodlust, for example your chances of tripping and stumbling causes speed loss when circling the same small structure multiple times. Hmm maybe that's a bit too harsh but at least something thematic.
More tall line of sight blocking terrain, nothing worse than low islands of junk with a pallet that can't be mind gamed, only hit boxed around till pallet drop rinse and repeat.
While I get sinking the killer's time is the key, incentivizing escaping from chase rather staying in chase and looping would be preferential, I don't have a great or remotely balanced answer for that though.
I wouldn't want to see more built in perks though that's just lazy.
"It feels so Scooby Doo not Halloween" perfectly sums up what I feel whenever one of those loops of doom begins! It just completely and utterly destroys the mood of the game and it forces some meta perk selection upon killers that would otherwise not be needed (such as Bamboozle, Hex: Blood Favour, etc.).

Agreed. The point is escape. Looping is annoying when playing survivor and boring when playing killer. Chases should be these grand thematic things that can mean life a death. Not "Look kids! Big Ben, Parliament..."
Indeed, escape should be the whole point of a survivor. Stalling the killer should involve making him go after you all across the map, not running zig zag around some boulders.
Idea: What if survivors had 10 seconds to leave a 5-meter radius once a chase begins before a progressive speed malus begins that makes them lose 1% speed after two seconds? This would apply again to survivors if the game detects they are too long in a specific place even after a chase starts. These malus modifiers would clear once the survivor is away from said zone but not immediately, albeit probably at half the rate it was lost. They would also be cleared in the event of a hit by the killer.

Why would you assume it comes with a custom portrait? That's only for legendary skins.
I must confess that almost 500hs into the game and I had not noticed that was the pattern.
Still, it'd be nice to have a custom portrait.

I've seen a few people ask but haven't seen your response. How would it make the basement "fun and unique"? I'm scratching my head over that.
Well, DbD is all about being a killer in a typical 80s ~ 90s movie, and those were definitely full of dungeons, basements and lairs where the killer would live and often drag his victims to. Bubba has been brought as an example time and again, but think of Pennywise, should he ever be added to the game... he literally dragged everyone to his lair in the sewers. Needless to say, such a strategy entails risking survivors doing the gens, but still..
And for the record, I didn't mind being facecamped as a survivor and absolutely loved it as certain killers (Nemesis and Leatherface). Honestly, it was hardly ever a good strategy for killers, and thus no killer aiming to win the game did it; doing away with the whole mechanic was a blasphemy to DbD in the first place, but having it apply to the basement as well is downright heretical.
EDIT: I also know that you can still camp the basement and any other hook, for that matter. But it feels clunky and unrealistic to have to tour around your shed from 3~4 meters, which stills get the same end result as before (i.e. killing any survivor who helps the one in the basement escape). I propose doing away with that clunkiness, which detracts from the game's experience and atmosphere. At the very least, I don't wanna be mindful of how far away from the shed I am and such.

Yes, but only if the killer is Leatherface.
I would settle for this, tbh. I actually got the inspiration to write this post whilst playing as him! It's definitely in-character and could make his playstyle all the more unique. At least, I would vouch for an exception be made to Leatherface, if no one else.
