I will take this boring, same run killers instead of Nurse. At least i will know, i am playing against fair killer. Not the busted one.
And no, she is not amazing. She is very bad designed and terrible killer. Wish she would never exist, she is one of the reasons we have not balanced game.
I have a question and it is not meant to be taken as anything other than just a question.
Have you played her? I feel like a lot of times people think a killer is OP because they had a few bad run-ins with that killer. I play both sides, I wouldn't say I main either side, I just go to the side with the shorter cue or with what my mood is set too. When I find a killer tough to beat, I play that killer and learn the weaknesses and see what other survivors do against them. This allows me to find ways to counter and enjoy the match. Same with certain perks for survivors that are viewed as OP, it is about understanding the limitations.
Nurse has limitations in the hands of anyone that isn't the top tier.

It's enjoyable for killer player.
Most survivors have no fun against her.
I like the challenge. If it is one of the like 1% of Nurse players, sure it is miserable but it'll be over super quick. The next % say 9% will probably still make rather quick work of you but the average Nurse player isn't OP and honestly on certain maps is very fun to go against.
I think most survivors don't like to get off their gen and want to rush 5 gens and exit as fast as possible, and nurse turns it into a thinking game. Personally, I love it. It isn't just the same run here, drop pallet, now run here and hurdle and loop and loop and loop..
I'd love to see them add a trip feature so if you run while looking back for too long you trip and fall. Break up the endless loops. That is why Nurse is amazing. She forces you to play different.

Depends.
Singularity is bad design, survivors have so much control on his power.
But then we have Pinhead. Survivors can deny some parts of his power but even with that, he is still decent killer.
And no, i don't want them to kill Nurse. I want fair power for Nurse which both sides can enjoy the game. For now, it's only enjoyable for Nurse.
How is it only enjoyable for nurse?
Yes, she does ruin the gen rush mentality. You have to get off your gens and listen and move and actually do something different to counter her. Messing with her just takes away the one truly different killer in the game.
-
Nurse has one of the largest learning curves in the game. Skilled nurse players are going to roll pretty much any team but the people that can really do that are few and far between.
Of course after one of those matches people usually think the character is OP and again in the right hands, yes she can mop up anyone but it takes a ton of practice to get to that level. She isn't just a log in and play and insta-kill. And her limitations do leave some counters, the issue for most players is countering her requires doing something different. You can't chain drop pallets and loop around shack and feel safe, nope you have to use a lot of mind games and understanding the killer. Hence why she is always being called to be nerfed.

People would just leave until they find the killer they wanna face.
No one would be able to play nurse or blight.
It's simply a terrible idea
I don't opt out when I see nurse... and again, I'd rather have people opt out before the match starts then spend time in cue, match starts, everyone DC's or gives up on hook or just stands there going hit me hit me...
I'd rather wait in cue for an extra few minutes and get a team that wants to take on the challenge versus walking out of a boring ass match that half or 3/4 the team quit instantly. But again, I actually play the game for the challenge and the fun, I know a lot of killer mains just want to steam roll at 5 gens and have no interest in a good back and forth match, so DCs and hook opt outs don't bother them.

detection perks vs stealth killers. plus sprint burst.
maps and whatever the perk is called vs trapper and hag.
iron will/other stealth perks vs. spirit
lucky break vs oni (hilariously... also no mither)
etc, etc...
Most survivors are running some sprint burst already or Lithe or MFT.
If the concern is really that deep, then have loadout lock before you cue. Still let's you leave a lobby if you don't like the killer or survivor team all with the same name and outfit but prevents the smallest fraction of situations you are talking about.
It really isn't that big of a deal. And again, I'll deal with the possibility of a hard counter versus dealing with a match that is boring and over in the first 30 secs because people don't want to face the killer. Running up and going "hook me, hook me" to opt out on hook or DCing.

no. some survivor perks hard counter some killers. they absolutely cannot know who the killer is.
Outside of Spine Chill what is "Hard Counter".
Spine Chill is no better than actually looking around and seeing the Wraith shimmer, or exposing Ghost Face or just happening to see Myers standing there looking at you.
If that one perk is so game breaking though, it can be re-worked. Again, I'd rather people see the killer and stay in the match and have a little longer cue than deal with, I blink as Nurse and instantly DCs begin. That's just zero fun.
-
I can't speak for anyone besides myself. When I play with my friends that still play we are in Discord and joking around and having fun but not doing anything other than trying to finish gens and get the hell out. Sure we talk about who is being chased and yes, there is certainly more organization to our rescue attempts and flashlight usage, but there is no attempt to humiliate the killer.
Honestly, we talk more about random stuff in Discord during the game then the actual game itself.
-
I'll be in the minority but I'm not at all excited about this addition. This had to be something they were working on for awhile and if they knew they were trying then why did they do end transmission? That's a knock off alien and now, we more outer space sci-fi stuff.
Personally, I'd rather go in a new direction. Go with the Lost Boys, or The Shining or as others have said Candyman. So many options and this was literally the worst one they could go with.
-
This really brings up the question of is it time to show both sides who they are facing in the lobby. Yes, I understand this would create a longer cue for certain killers but I'd much rather wait longer than have the match end in moments due to DCs and hook opt outs.
Maybe I'm in the minority here but rolling over 4 people with 4 gens still up isn't really exciting. The back and forth and chase and hunt is what is exciting.

and what if they had decided not to finish the last gen? the killer's stuck there for an hour?
At some point they run out of pallets and flashlight charges. Consider it practice. Chase them, learn to break the loops see if it improves your play.
Stop worrying about winning every single match, it isn't going to happen and find something to enjoy in each match or a way to learn in each match.

"i've never seen it so it doesn't exist"
Not saying it doesn't exist, but it has to be the rarest of rare instance. And when that happens, it has to suck. Not much to do but use the report feature for taking the game hostage and wait it out. But you talk about it, like it is an every match instance, and in 99% of the time the bully squads wait till gens are done to be baddies.
-
@TenTrillion said:
except for the part where if it's before the gens are done, i physically cannot force the survivors to finish the game.
I've never seen a bully squad or any survivor group avoid doing last gen. They will always finish the gens before the hard trolling starts.
In this instance as others have said, open the gate and go find some stuff to break. They will leave or end up as a sacrifice.

Get Jason Voorhees. No other license matters till you get this one.

The reality of life. This is a game and people play it to have fun.
Killer mains need survivor mains or cues go up and eventually the game dies. Unless you just want to play against bots all the time. So many people playing this game forget that there is 4 other people in the lobby. I've seen comments from killers after slugging and bleeding out an entire lobby that "I got the 4 k".
Things that make the game unfun are bad for the game as a whole. Sure, tunneling is effective but if you tunnel a player out and they have a miserable experience and stop playing or DC and get the penalty and then go find another game you damaged the game as a whole.
I'm guessing anyone posting here likes to play the game, so avoid doing things that damage it. A good killer can lose a few gens, and not face camp or even proximity camp hooks/unhooks and still get a 4K. The difference in those matches is, the survivors never feel like they are out of the game. There is a back and forth flow that is fun for everyone. That keeps everyone engaged and ready to cue again.
-
What happened during the chase? Was there tea-bagging, flashlight spam, things that survivors due to taunt the killer?
Sometimes a tunnel is justified. A survivor runs infiinte loops and getting them down helps the killer as the looper is gone.
Sometimes the survivor taunted and earned it.
Sometimes the killer is just being a turd.
Any number of reasons, and from what I've seen it's rarely the same reason in each case.
