As I said elsewhere in this thread, is it truly so unfathomable to you that someone might just disagree without that person lying or being easily dismissed for other reasons?
If someone tells me the earth is flat I'm disagreeing because it's obviously not true.

Which two perks? OTR is all I really need. It also works on both hooks.
It doesnt work if the killer tunnels/camps since it doesnt stack with the useless 5second BT.
-
@TheSubstitute said:
I have a suspicion that a significant portion of the people complaining are doing so due to a lack of willingness to adapt. For example, I still see posts talking about DS when OTR is now more effective than pre-patch DS was.
So 2 perks for the same level of 1 old one? WOW so cool

There's a litmus test for the Olympics. Any troglodyte can, and does, logon to DBD.
I dont see what kind of point youre trying to make here but ok.

Competitive or fair, pick one.
What you are thinking of is casual.
Just look at the Olympics, it is competitive and it's fair, that's why there's different categories.

Of all the changes they made, the bloodlust ones are the most nonsensical
Bloodlust as a mechanic is already the most bandaid thing in the game, so making it easier to get just baffles me.
I just dont understand how they went from testing if it should be removed to buffing it.

Another post that fails to acknowledge all the other buffs killers got, and perks that got nerfed that were only good for solo q.

I've still lost as a killer since the update. Guess I must have missed that cheat software BHVR handed out to killers.
This is such a bad argument.
Killers still got 4ks before the update, even when everyone had dead hard. Exceptions exist everywhere, they just aren't realistic to the general view of things.
-
This patch and the reaction on the forums just showed me that a lot (not all™) of killer mains, at least on here, weren't really looking for fair matches but just wanted easier wins.

Is it really so unfathomable that people legitimately disagree with you?
I play solo queue. The problems it has right now are the problems it's always had, and those problems did not get substantially worse with this patch when you correct for the idiots giving up immediately. In fact, certain problems that solo queue has had for a while got very slightly better.
When you say that a 5 second BT basekit made solo q better I just dont disagree with you, it's worse than that.

Thank you very much.
That is exactly the kind of response we would like to see. I think it's an impertinence of the thread creator to call this patch a disaster, and it can't stand like that. With all due respect, but all the Solo Q critics ( Fun Fact: and that is the majority !! ) can spam the forum all they want or cry about it.
They will have to get used to the changes and calm down. If not, well then tough luck. If changes need to be made, it will happen, but many just don't understand or don't want to understand.
This is very simple ☝️
Why do solo q players need to "get used" to changes and killers can just whine for more nerfs?
Arent you the killer main who made a thread saying you are a solo q player but then said you only play survivor 30% of the time?

Again, I’ve seen solo queue survivors who comment it is ok including really good ones. It’s not universal.
Which really good ones solo q players have said it is fine?
-
@Nun_So_Vile said:
Why don't survivors get nearly as many fun bugs as killers? istg every killer bug ends up being one that gives them a decent advantage with that killer in trial. Almost never happens on survivor side. Last good one was Midwich.
Only one survivors got was the wake up bug and people were getting banned for exploiting it.

Solo queue was having problems last week mainly because of solo queue survivors quitting on a moment’s notice. That seems to be calming down finally though and survivors who bother to stick it out are doing ok.
I'm sticking it out, in fact I'm already on page 8 of the rift, that's how much I have been playing. It's still not ok and only people who dont play solo q say it is ok.

Killers were ok before the patch, now they’re slightly better but not overpowered. It’s working out to be something like a 7-9% kill rate increase.
Solo Q is def not ok.

Alright.
-Bloodpoint category caps and overall bloodpoint storage cap increased; a clear response to people talking about their diminished bloodpoint gains after the bonuses were removed from BBQ and WGLF.
-Prestige node cost decreased from 50k to 20k; people didn't like how high the cap was. I saw multiple people saying that it shouldn't exist, but if it is going to exist, it should be lower. Clearly, them lowering it is responding to player feedback.
-Endurance chaining was removed; this one is self explanatory.
-Spine Chill was changed. Also self explanatory.
-OTR was changed to disable in the endgame. Self explanatory.
-Overcharge was nerfed, after players raised concerns about how nasty it'd be to handle when paired with other tools. (Personally I wasn't convinced on that one, but it was clearly listening to feedback!)
-Pre-update prestige 3 reward was changed. People hated the original, this is listening to feedback.
You'll notice this is nearly everything in the dev update, hence me just pointing you towards it. The only things that weren't feedback related in there were arguably some of the other cosmetic changes and the Inner Focus change.
Oh you mean things that have nothing to do with balance were changed, and survivor perks got nerfed + overcharged.
Yea, they did take a lot of feedback from the forums alright, that was their big mistake because of the forums demographic.

I’ve seen solo players say they think the patch is good overall. And I’ve seen quite a few matches as solo queue survivors from streamers like Scott Jund and Coconuts where they are winning matches currently assuming the other survivors don’t flip out and rage quit on the first down or two. Scott for instance has said a few times that while certain specific things in the patch should be tweaked that overall he thinks this patch is a good one and people are being kind of hyperbolic over it, and he’s a solidly good solo queue survivor player.
Killers were also winning matches before the update, so I guess before the update killers were also fine.
Also Scott "tunneling is fine because I like being tunneled" Jund having an opinion on solo q being fine is kinda meh.
-
Yea I noticed Oni has been played more recently and they do get the power way faster. That explains why ig.

Go double check the July dev update. It's not hard to see that the changes that were made happened because of the feedback from the forums.
I'm asking you directly, which changes were that from player feedback?

There are survivors who have posted that the rework is good too, even though obviously the kill rates did intentionally go up from it.
SWF players and Killer mains did yes.
-
@jesterkind said:
They categorically did not ignore feedback from the PTB, some pretty significant changes were made that were explicitly because of feedback from a lot of players.
To your point, I'd imagine they're silent because it supposedly being a disaster is a pretty huge claim that isn't really backed up by reality. For a lot of players, myself included, it's been a pretty noteworthy success!
Which feedback was that?
-
Yes, the Macmillan one with the tree in the middle doesn't have any dropdowns.

I agree I definitely use balanced landing more as it makes areas with drop downs complete safe zones with the perk
Until you get a map without drop downs and its useless.

Well it did no favors for solo that's for sure. It needs love ASAP. Though as you are well aware it's still a lot to do with team mates. I'm still having good games post patch when I'm getting good players that are actually working together.
Only started having better games again in crossplay off. You're only being able to escape if you get sweaty team mates with over 1k hours.

Both sides got buffs.
Way to ignore everything Pulsar just said.
-
I was having the same experience in crossplay on. I'm on PC (Steam) and since turning crossplay off again my games have been more enjoyable. Sure, I'm still getting mostly nurses, blights and huntresses, but my team mates are just as sweaty.
-
If you play SWF or killer, it was a good patch.
If you play solo it was garbage.

What do you mean? Self-care is my go-to perk.
Is there something better that lets me self-heal besides equipping a med kit?
EDIT: OK, I read the rest of the thread which answers my question. So Self-Heal + Botany it is, which is what I usually do anyway.
Inner healing/strength is better.

Starlost pointed it out, he never said killers can't win just that kill rates were lower than liked and changes were made to help adjust that, or BHVR's rational for the killer buffs and perk changes.
Your rebuttal "killers can still win what's your point," which is just kinda meaningless and unrelated to what was said, so the counter point to that is survivors can still win so what's you point, again meaningless although this time directly relevant to the rather poor rebuttal you made.
You've based your rebuttal on the claim that killers can still win so why make the changes they made, but survivors can still win so why complain about the changes if that's all you've got to argue with.
If you struggle to understand your own point you will be very bad at making others understand it.
At the risk of sounding snide, and I've probably said this before, but debate is not your strong suit is it?
StarLost used the argument that survivors can still win games, so the game is ok. So I told them, killers could also still win games before the patch, that doesn't mean much.
Why would I want to debate with you at all? Not only english is not my first language, I also dont care enough.

Alright ok, tough sell huh?
How about insidious is base kit but standing still for 4 seconds summons a duck that chases survivors AND the killer.
The duck is able to steal survivors items and killers weapon and hide them.
The duck will honk if it sneaks up on you and force you to do a hard skill check.

@Marigoria,
Solo-queue players are bringing Self-Care because it's the most perk slot efficient and reliable healing method in the game in a mode where no one every seems to want to heal you.
So you either run around hurt all game or you run self-care.
I'm a solo q player and I dont bring self care. In fact, if I see that anyone on my team is running self care solo, you're staying on the hook.
Inner strength right now is much better than self care.

You're missing my point.
Most people aren't as good as these chaps, but they are also not facing the same level of opponent as these chaps are facing.
Of course they're not going to be as skilled, but they don't need to be.
My point is that people need to adapt, stop pouting and declaring that the sky is falling, and just focus on playing safer and using the new tools they have. The goal of the patch was to up kill rates, which BHVR wanted higher. Thus, you will escape a bit less.
This is fine. You can still win.
Killers before this update could still win, your point?
-

You can still do some epic chases, you just can't loop a Myers forever on Cowshed quite as easily.
Go and watch Otz and Ayrun doing their HCS prep. They are still killing it.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/337787/anyone-struggling-to-have-fun-as-survivor-atm
It's not that bad. About 70 games on survivor since the patch, and I'm doing fine - outside of everyone DCing and suiciding now the second they get hooked.
A few things, such as Nurse being too strong right now and a few perks getting overnerfed could be changed, but I think that this update is a big step in the right direction.
People who play this game for a living, yes. I have no interest in streamers whatsoever.
-
I'd like to believe the ones still bringing self care is because they don't know any better...
-
With the most fun part of the game nerfed (chases) and the most boring one being longer (gens), yea it isn't that amazing.

Go read the patch notes dude, survivor got many perks buffed.
Yui's perk, Jake's perk, Botany, BT, OTR, the ones I have on my mind but there are other ones.
You are just a troll or a new player who dont know the game.
I did read the patch notes.
I'm sure you, the person who says "solo q is fun" while actually playing swf and not solo, can tell us all how pharmacy, botany, calm spirit got buffed.
Yes, I am a new player yet I'm almost devotion 27.
-
Survivors and killers working together is the worst thing this game has tbh.
Just the other day a dwight and a nurse were working together to kill everyone else in the match.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
They're never going to please everyone balancing for a single a queue with all playstyles in that queue. If they want the game to be more competitively balanced, fine. But then you need to come up with solutions for players who are more casual and for more competitive players who queue up solo and die because their team won't play optimally.
Want to put me against a Starstruck/Agi Nurse every other game? Awesome. But don't give me an instant queue with teammates running loot builds with no exhaustion. Nobody is going to have fun in that game.
This is why I switched to cross off again.
Sure I'm mostly getting sweaty nurses and huntresses and blights, but my team mates are way better.
-
If the nerfs that were added to the killer don't matter, I'm sure you wouldnt mind if they were reverted?
-
At this point if you think the game is still survivor sided maybe you need to evaluate your play style.
I main both pig and freddy and I play wayyyy more solo q survivor than killer, yet the only results after the patch I got were 4ks and 3ks.

Survivors got many buffs in this patch, BT basekit, perks buffs.
The only nerf you got is dead hard lmao
Name all those buffs.

BBQ is fine as it is. They just need to add the bloodpoint bonus back.
