I dont write this to just be a narrative that goes against what you say but ive been playing survivor lately and honestly i think i got an escape rate at like 80% at least in soloQ, I am already Iridisient Rank after the reset on the 13th and it was hard the first few games but then i realized that everyone was playing like fools and so were i. People run around , not walk, People do not sit on gens if they sense a little bit of panic and people become uncoordinated at adversity and mentally give up but that is not YOU, is it ?

No You are the survivor that got balls of steel who use Deja vu, prove thyself, Lithe and Bond or perhaps even another gen perk and you sit on your gen which are popping like flies and when killer comes you are not leaving blood trail anywhere you are hiding there right in his face in some odd place because you know he aint got time to scavage that place becuase there are other gens and when you see he is basically just left the room you are back on that gen. Gen gen gen and being invisible. I think in most matches i usually do 3-4 gens myself basically while everyone is in panic.

To me it seems like when peoples plan A got busted they dont got a B and cannot compose themselves. I only ever played killer so this was quiet a learning curve for me to lean, I am not yet prestine at looping and all those fancy things although not terrible but i know what hurts the killer and makes them mentally give up and that is hearing 2 gens pop before they even got a hit or even seen someone.

And i hope they remove the 400% thing because it forces me into playing Survivor because the incentives are so high, you do a few gens and destroy some hooks ( which is also nice to make the killer run towards some area where noone is )and you get like 100 000 points. Havent touched my killer main as its been so easy to grind the shrine the past few days as survivor so i already have my huntress outfit.

I hear what you're saying but I don't think your experiences with solo survivor reflects what the majority of the solo survivor community is experiencing. You're really out here telling me it's not nearly that bad… at iri rank on the 13th of the month. Like what percentage of solo survivors do you think get to iri rank the day the ranks reset…

But I do resonate with what you're saying, once I reach Gold rank or at least Silver 1 I start escaping more matches as my teamates are actually being productive and helpful at that rank.

Well that is why they have bond, You also got wiretap you can use. You do see where people are carried or hooked. I feel there is plenty of information in regards to survivors, Deja Vu gives gen information as well. If people werent stacking up on anti tunnel perks you would see the entire map.

Yes I love being forced to fill at least half my build with perks aimed to make solo survivor less awful.

  • It makes you wonder if this observation has anything to do with the horribly long killer queue times…

  • Most people just fail to realize that the only "good"/"fun" filler games they involve bodying solo survivors in the most uncompeti way

  • That's because the 400% bloodpoint bribe still isn't enough incentive for solo survivors to waste their time getting annihilated 9/10 games.

  • I think most killers need to ask themselves:
Is it really a win if you lean on cheesy strats/perks that solo survivors cannot counter due to lack of coordination? Do whatever you want against swf, but there's just certain things you can do and perks you can run against solo survivors that will guarantee at least 3k in every match.

  • He's fun to play as and against but he's thematically mid af

  • I agree, chests are practically useless unless you're messing around with a silly build. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure they could remove chests altogether and nobody would notice.

Tbf oblivious doesn't remove the red stain so you still have a heads up, and I say this without any offense to it, you can see the killer.

I personally even in soloQ do not bother to cleanse plaything. Mainly because its usually paired with pentimento, which is actually very dangerous. And secondly because just looking around tends to negate the effects of oblivious.

Of course on hawkings or other infoor maps it is way more effective but in outdoor maps oblivious should not really guarantee a sneak attack.

No offense taken. And you're right, there's a lot of scenarios where there is counter play against plaything. That's why I don't think it's OP. I'm just saying that the devs should try to make the perk impact solo survivors and swf equally.

  • My only gripe with this killer is how inconsistently turrets take it out of power. Sometimes alien will get taken out of power just for looking at a turret the wrong way and other times I swear he'll get doused in more flames than Firelord Ozai himself can produce during Sozin's comet without exiting power.

I don't know about meaningful, however the Steam ID isn't required for the report, they changed that a few years back.

Yeah their reporting system does really need overhauling. Us consolers are spared from Chat Box issues sure. But for everything else it's a pain to report and video is needed for most offenses. So our Switch cousins are super boned here, as their ability to record their matches was removed several years back. Dunno what they're supposed to do.

Haha I should have clarified but I was afraid of being ridiculed... I am switch cousin :(

As for the chat box issues. I wish I could participate in the chats after games; just for the funny interactions, even if it gets toxic sometimes

idk i just want a practice mode where gens won't progress.

and ability to add a bot killer that will just afk so i can practice fast vaults and stuff as survivor.

I respectfully disagree with a practice mode. Let me explain:

It sounds great in principle because it would allow low skill survivors and killers to "git gud" before they go into real matches and get bullied. However, in reality, I think it would make the game extremely sweaty. Fornite was a relatively casual game. Even when it exploded on the streaming platforms it was still playable for casual fans IMO. What ruined Fortnite for me was the addition of the practice arena which allowed kids to do nothing but practice building for hours without end. This eventually made the game extremely sweaty, leaving no one to play it but the people that sunk thousands of hours of practice into it. I think the same thing would happen to DBD if the devs allowed survivors and killers to practice the same moves on the same map on the same loops without end.

It sounds good in principle because it would allow survivors that get tunneled or killed quickly because of low skill to practice and "git gud". However, in reality, I think the game would become extremely sweaty. Fornite was a relatively casual game until it exploded on the streaming platforms. If the devs let survivors and killers practice the same moves; on the same maps; on the same loops, without end, we will all hate the game in no time. Thoughts?

  • thank you all for the responses. Seems like there isn't really a consensus on the solo survivor experience other than it needs a bit of a rework. I've been recording data on each of my matches for the past few weeks but I want more data (from other survivors ideally) before I bring it to the forums.

  • It's even worse if you're on console because you can't see their steam account which you need to make a meaningful report online

  • I've always dreamed of a sort of Karma System in this game. Where "bad actor" killers AND survivors are given a hidden karma rating after each game. This way the killers and survivors that play a certain way that most other players don't enjoy can just play with one another while the rest of us enjoy a less toxic game.

The only problem with this idea is that it would be extremely difficult for the devs to create an algorithm that can accurately grade one's karma.

  • This would honestly be so much fun. The more customization the better. I could easily see a lot of awesome content coming out of youtube, twitch, and other platforms if this happened.
