- So chases have to be fair, thus long because otherwise people claim it's unfair and uncounterable. But gens can't be too slow either? What's this magical balance you talk about? Survivors have NO other objective and if only they weren't able to finish a game in 3 and a half minutes then maybe we would all agree that killers can be a little bit more forgiving and dynamic. With Nurse, you forget you can both see each other, the Nurse's advantage is her insane speed and being able to traverse through ANY obstacle in her way. The Spirit does not get this privilege, and neither of the two can see each other while she's phasing. If she's standing still why would you walk back to her in the first place? It's a fully 3D game, there's at least 2 other different directions you could head to to throw her off.
- If she's not phasing, she's a 110% killer. If she's phasing, she can't see you. You get a very very obvious warning when she's phasing in the vicinity, is it so difficult to be stealthy if you don't feel confident enough to tank a Spirit? I hate slugging but if I see an obsession in the match, I adapt and act accordingly. Once again, for some reason you bring up guesswork which apparently you seem to hate, but also claim to be very good at? How can you tell if a Trapper is herding you to a trap? How do you plan your route if you haven't seen him set a trap all game? Every second a Spirit stands still is one more second you can gain distance or confuse her. With how many safe tiles there are in the game it's really not that hard to get somewhere where you'll be able to react if you hear her footsteps, ESPECIALLY considering all the other points I already mentioned. If she phases to you, cooldown on her ability for you to run away, if she's walking she's a 110%, if she stands still and you're uninjured stop running. If she sees you and you're injured why didn't you heal instead of doing whatever you were doing?
It isn't the survivors fault the devs refuse to add a different objective. Survivors have been wanting that ever since the game came out gens are boring and most survivors get their enjoyment out of chases. Therefore killer that make us say "He used his power I'm dead" instead of killers that make us say "Oh I should have dodged better or looped better" I love killers like huntress and demo that have great chase interaction. What I don't like is killers that just get free value from their power and puts you in lose/lose situations.
-
I'm glad they are finally doing this, pyramid head is the most obvious killer (besides spirit) that has absolutely no counterplay besides the killer being bad. All the killer has to do is bring up his rites of judgement whenever you reach a pallet or window and you have no choose but to get hit. Even if you manage to get through a window or drop a pallet you only get 1 loop out of it before getting into the same situation again. The only thing you can do is get enough distance to be out of range of his power.
-
Survivor is overpowered unless you get baboon teammates every game that are somehow red ranks. I play on PS4 and every player just hides or wastes every pallet.
-
If you go against a good oni you will go down no matter how much skill you have as survivor. That is why oni has to aquire his power with blood orbs. There is a lot of counterplay to hillbilly by taking windows and not being greedy with pallets. Even the best Billy can be outplayed by dropping pallets early and taking windows. Basekit Billy is actually pretty bad against good survivors and if you ever played him you'd know that. But behavior nerfed him anyway. His add-on combinations were pretty busted if you used the right ones but only addons needed a nerf.
-
They should give solo survivors the information a swf would have so that it balances out solo que with swf. Killer could then receive a blanket buff (every killer could receive a buff or survivor could be slightly nerfed somehow) to compensate for the new information. One way they could implement this is by adding kindred as base (they already said they wouldn't do this for some reason so I guess this point is mute anyway)
-
I think he needs a slight nerf in his power to zone (cool down for when he cancels his power) and his power to tunnel instantly out of cages. I wouldn't care if his power was buffed somehow to compensate for this. (Adding a flick or something)
-
I'd rather have hitting on the hook being removed than autoaim cucking me over Everytime I have to hit someone near a hook. Good change in my opinion.
-
Console definitely needs to be optimized more otherwise the graphical update won't even work. My PlayStation already sounds like a jet engine whenever I go onto the start screen.
-
I am devotion 3 (I don't know what that is in hours because I am on PlayStation) and I have never seen this generator.
-
The only thing I don't like about pig is the fact that you can get completely screwed by rng both ways. Either you get screwed as killer and everyone gets their trap off first try or you're always unlucky like me and it's always the last box. I have gone against the pigs with the added box add ons and I had to go through all 6 boxes.
-
The only thing I think is dumb and bad design is that he can use bloodlust with his snares to get guarantee deed hits and when you go against him you don't feel like you've been outplayed you're just like oh well guess I should've dropped the pallet. This takes away most of the skill from chases and makes good survivors basically the same as bad ones in chases.
-
Whenever I play against the pig I can never get the trap off my head and I always die because no matter how fast I go its always the last box.
-
@PigMainClaudette if you let a killer get that close to you to where they are literally touching you there is a problem, also you don't balance for low skill players you balance for red/purple ranks that have invested time in the game. I respectfully disagree that hillbilly needs any changes besides add-ons.
-
@PigMainClaudette how do you say he takes no skill? Curving takes a lot of practice and dedication to pull off, if you are getting chainsawed across the map then you're the problem, not the killer. It is unlikely for that to happen at high ranks and even if you do a nice curve then can still dodge it. This is why hillbilly is the games most balanced killer because you can see what he is doing and react accordingly. Nurse is to fast to really react and spirit is just a guessing game. I do agree that some of his add-ons need to be look at but nothing with base kit
-
Honestly I think it's que times and matchmaking. If you can't get into a game for 30 min why would you want to play. Then after the 30 min. You get a rank 10 killer and rank 20 teammates when you are rank 1
-
@Vetrathene or we could just give the solo players the information they deserve anyway and buff killers. They could do basekit bond, kindred and other similar information perks which are basically a necessity for solo survivor. Only change I would make is that kindred doesn't show the killer like it does as the actual perk.
-
There are plenty of buttons even on console that aren't used, the use option should be changed into self-care drop pallets, vault, pick up etc that way you can actually separate them out to different buttons
-
Holy crap that plague is ZOOMING. That's like 150 percent speed lol. That's like the speed you get from 3 stacks of pwyf combined with bloodlust 3. I don't think she would've gotten bloodlust that fast tho.
-
@LordGlint it doesn't stop him from catching up by just shocking every time you get to the pallet
-
When I'm survivor every doc does this without fail. I bring them to a pretty safe pallet, I drop early to avoid a shock and they bloodlust while shocking me to get a hit, it's very annoying and bloodlust is a stupid mechanic to help killers succeed on poor map design anyway.
-
Not to be mean but the killer power seems like a rip off of hag with less traps. 5 is not enough and should be increased to 8 to 10 by default, other than that good job!
-
I would give more BP for the items. 300 is almost nothing. Giving back a third of the bps used would be a good compromise.
-
I would do this but in reverse, make a Gen 40 percent slower at the start of the game and as gens are done reduce the slowdown by 10 percent. You could also have a early game startup where gens would be very slow and extra time for killers like hag and trapper to set up and for survivors to search chests and cleanse totems
-
The movement speed buff is too strong for self sacrifice, if the killer is huntress or hag the survivor would be faster than the killer. Also in the plague doctors power 4.0 movement speed is the same speed as survivors. I would make him 4.6 speed by default and then when he kills someone make it 4.4
-
I get people say that Gen times need to be slowed but if they do that then no survivors will do generators. In solo que I already have to do 2-3 gens by myself because otherwise they won't get done. It's boring as hell and after that they still don't do the other 2 gens either and we end up dying at 2 gens and I die on 1st hook usually. If they increase times even more then no one will do gens because it's super boring. They really need to spice it up. Maybe add more required objectives or something else. However like it was said in OhTofu's podcast, the average group of survivors are pretty bad. Its only the swf that actually know what they are doing is when killers start to have trouble.
-
Billy is not as over powered as spirit or nurse, the only way Billy gets a chainsaw is if he gets lucky with a curve in high ranks or if the survivor makes a mistake. Billy can be easily looped just like any other killer as long as the survivor makes no mistakes
-
@honestlybaffled I'm pretty sure the devs said that without ruin, killers will derank to their skill level
-
@kid187em head on, quick and quiet, inner strength and DS best build lol. Got to run it on Dwight as well
-
The whole entire survivor objective should be changed anyway, no one wants to just sit on a Gen for over 80 seconds anyway and ruin was a bad perk betting on people not doing gens and looking for the totem. If people did gens with ruin and hit their skill checks gens will still be done <5 min.
-
@newavitar it isn't the survivors fault that the game is helariously unbalanced at high rank play, Gen times need to be seriously looked at I've had game WITH old ruin that the gens were done in >5 min and that just shouldnt be possible. Also what do you expect the survivors to do follow you around? There aren't that many things to do as survivor if you aren't doing gens. Ig you could search chests or do totems but it really isn't worth it just for a trash item or a measly 1000 points in a category you will fill anyway unless you an immersed claudette.
-
@immortalls96 this is not an exaggeration, never have I had this much lagging and rubber banding on any game with 100 ping, I know 100 ping isn't good but it isn't awful either and most games actually compensate for ping but that doesn't happen att all with dbd
-
@Accullla The curves are really fun to do on console, like you said it catches them off guard. If I get a good one on somebody they usually dc lol
-
@Accullla I am just leaning how to do it but many loops are very hard to curve. I can curve at jungle gyms but the generator often gets in the way if it spawns and the survivors hide behind it. The pallet gyms are easier to curve and often catches people off guard though. My main issue is that they throw rank 10 killer right into the mix with red ranks when it is super easy up to that point. I had no issue getting easy 4ks until now. I wish there was at least a middle ground between rank 20 and rank 1 that doesn't seem to exist
-
Any killer that can completely ignore game mechanics isn't balanced. If a spirit or nurse is good enough it doesn't matter how good of a survivor you are, you will die. Billy is a perfect example of a killer being balanced, he can curve but it requires a good amount of skill and survivors can still dodge your chainsaw.
-
The only problem is solo survivors are really, really bad. Especially on console. Every time I play a solo game (red ranks) my teammates go down almost instantly and barely do generators (they are very immersed) the only time the team has a chance is when I am the only solo with a 3 man swf.
-
I already said this on another discussion but swf is not necessarily toxic and if they are it is because of prior experience with tunneling, camping, sweaty killers. I was with a swf today and we all brought a bps. The killer decided to play the most dirty way possible and none of us had over 15k points. The killer however used us for points and had 32k points. We had 4 bps
-
The megs are always so trash at skill checks, every time I get on a Gen with a Meg (red rank on console) the fully mess up (not even good skill check) Gen skill checks with ruin and not even just one, the mess up like 2 or 3 in a row. Not sure if this is on purpose or not.
-
Try DS, Deliverance, Prove thyself, and Were going to live forever. This is the best build to try and max out all points. (DS and deliverance are to be used together to max survival points)
-
The try hard really comes out on double BP. You aren't getting tunneled bc of dead hard it is because of sweaty killers for bloodhunt
