  • I still haven't met a single console toxic survivor. Most of them are actually kind of sweet. Baby dweets

Should he have swung directly from the uncloak on the Dwight at 1:25? There was no pallet there. All he had to do was run up to him and M1 and he would have had an easy hit. Instead the Dwight made the pallet and he ended up having to drop chase.

You don't need to be a god at this game to see that Tru3 made some very bad plays here.

I never said he didn't make any mistakes, I was talking about a more generic point. Yes you are right, that particular mistake you mention is pretty easy to spot

People don't need to be better than him to critique his play. He clearly did not play well and he was playing against a great team. For example, he seriously hurt himself by swinging and missing on that Dwight in the open like a minute and a half in and letting him get to the pallet. The guy was out to sea and he just got impatient.

You just can't get your first down after all five gens are done and then complain about the game being unbalanced. The gen rush is strong at the beginning because the killer has to chase one while three work on gens. If you aren't hooking people, that balance will keep up for the entire game. You also won't get to use your Pop or Dying Light, so he basically had two entirely dead perk slots this match. You need to get someone on the hook to force someone off of their gen to go for the save while you chase a third survivor.

Would he have won this match if he was able to get someone on the hook early? Probably not, but especially with Pop you can definitely make a comeback.

This wasn't your comment, but all of the people saying Nurse shouldn't have been nerfed because she's the only one viable against teams like this are missing the point. Let's say killer really is at a huge disadvantage. The way to solve this isn't to make one or two killers extremely strong. The way to solve this is to make the gap between the worst and best killer as low as you possibly can and to buff killer in general. That's why nerfing extremely strong killers like Nurse is a good thing for balance, even if you feel survivors are too strong. The game should be balanced such that as many killers as possible are viable against good teams, and the killer roster needs to be more consistent in terms of strength before that can happen.

Surely everyone can have an opinion, but how good your opinion it is relies on your own skill which directly correlates with your ability to judge and understand the game to a different level. All things have different levels of understanding. It's not the same an opinion from a civil engineering regarding structures than an architect's or a projector's. You get the point

The problem is that they’re in two different worlds. Most casual players complain about tunnelling and camping for example, but if you watch a tournament you’ll see both those things quite often and the survivors don’t complain about it because they know it’s necessary. It’s basically impossible to compete against a good tournament team with a low tier killer or without some amount of tunnelling. Tournaments also put restrictions or bans on certain perks, add ons and items for a reason.

DBD is really not designed or balanced for comp play, and most of the player base doesn’t even know that DBD tournaments exist. 99% of the player base is casual. The people who want killers like Spirit or PH nerfed are casual players, because we want the casual game experience to be fun. (I’m not using “casual” to be derogatory btw, I’m a casual player 100%.) Comp players usually won’t complain about killers being OP or needing nerfs because they know that against a tournament team, even an amazing Nurse isn’t guaranteed anything.

There should be two lobbies like in any other game that aims towards being competitive - casual lobby and then ranked lobby, that is it. Then you tweak things from that baseline. It is not that hard. You keep both casual and more competitive players happy

  • Till mmr isn't a thing in this game everyone will think they have verse these situations and give their entitled opinion on the matter. You also have those who dont even play killer calling him "mediocre" which is just hilarious.

I get it why you started this thread but i don't think anything positive would come out of it

  • This is probably a joke right? it must be

  • People can have an opinion regardless of their skill or time invested into the game. It is up to the devs to have common sense and listen to top % players. Competitive games should always balance around the best scenarios possibles, which as you may guess only happens when top players are involved, but i don't think it is okay to deny someone's ability to express themself just for being bad or inexperienced

  • I have yet to play today. I'm hoping i still get good matches despite the system being turned off

  • It worked since day one for me. Playing my main (nurse) would always make me go against swf and really high level survivors while playing killers such as ghosty boi, clown, plague - would match me up with more chill survs, although still not fair enough since they weren't red ranks, but okeyish?

Same experience when playing survivor (as solo though), good teammates.

But it might be related with my region and the hours i usually play at (Argentina-Brazil, usually late at night).

This post.... not saying people are wrong because they are right. But that's the problem. Killers shouldn't be limited two one of two killers, especially when one isn't really viable on console. Also the term "nothing you can do about it" shouldn't be so frequent. Maybe that's what's upsetting killers.

Yes it is sad that to actually compete at the high level you need to play those two. Hopefully mmr will fix this, it will provide actual data for the devs to properly buff low and mid tier killers to be a reliable option and not just depend on survivors making mistakes

  • Sadly for you, it is to become a nurse or spirit main and eventually become good with them (Sadly cause u may not like those killers). Sky's the limit with these killers. Those two are the only ones that actually allow killers to outplay their opponents base upon their own skill.

If you are interested in learning nurse, I can give you some tips

Also endgame chat should be removed

Gag is never a good solution. People are stupid, just accept it and dont pay attention

  • There is also no skill on just pressing m1. I mean i don't really need to make a case here do I? Not to mention survivors will gen rush everytime they can cause its fine, its their objective, but they do it every time they have a chance. Objectively speaking, killers dont camp every time they have a chance, so there's that as well.

You will not be able to do this to every killer though, especially those who actually rely on their own skill (nurse, spirit)

There is a problem on this community, but let's face it, the people that plays the game actually caring about their opponent it's really the 0.01% percent (I am among those btw). The real problem is balance around top % matches, which i think mmr has come here to actually identify those problems and solve them eventually. As for now, the only balance killer-surv situations around top % are nurse and spirit, the only two that allow killers to outperform their opponents purely on their own skill, not just on survivors making a mistake

  • What video ? You did not provide any kind of video. Perhaps i was a little bit harsh, let me rephrase it.

It suscks that your favorite killer is one of the weakest. I can see how it might be your only way to "win" but let's be honest it's not a challenge to do this, not to mention probably mmr might take into account way more variables and overall not even count this as a win. On top of that, the first guy you hook probably will have a really ######### game, so i really dont think this is a proper solution.

Bubba needs buffs when it comes to map pressure, and nerfs regarding camping, to make this particular killer-surv scenario a way more fun experience for both parties

  • I think it is intended to be this way, so they can actually have concrete data regarding balance issues and hopefully do something for those poor low tier killers. But, it would take time.

  • Always good to play both sides, gives you a better perspective of the entire game. And also makes you better when playing the opposite side.

  • There is absolutely no skill on what you do. You being able to "compete against 3000hs team" is just them not being able to punish you for being afk, which already says much about them.

  • People actually having no skill and pretending to win nonetheless, from both sides (aka spirit has no counterplay). Most killers having no control over chases, completely relying on survivors to make mistakes to be able to catch them, instead of their own skill. In every competitive game (we talking about balance so that frame has been established) it should be your skill vs your opponent skill, the better player comes on top. Not possible with certain killers (only nurse and spirit, maybe doctor as well).

Some maps, totem perks completely relying on rng, swf. Moris. Keys. DS punishing sometimes killers for actually playing too good instead of tunneling (as supposedly intended). Survivors having way to many 2nd chances DS, BT, 4% on hook (hilarious), even a bloody thing spawns randomly when your team has been destroyed so you can escape rewarding you for your team being completely outplayed. This is not a PVE game, killers don't play an AI role.

The main problem is that balance doesn't happen around the top %, like in any competitive game. However with mmr devs are going to probably be able to identify balance issues way easier. I think that is one of the reasons they were looking forward to implement this system that works so good in competitive games.

It definitely can be. There's still newer players who go in terrified of the killer, and there's still plenty of people jumping when they get grabbed off a gen or when they catch Myers or Ghost Face staring at them. Though after you've played the game for hundreds (if not thousands) of hours, that scare factor is bound to wear off. The vast majority of people will stop getting scared by stuff at some point.

It's like watching a horror movie. The first time, it's scary. You don't know what's going to happen. The second time, you know what's coming. Something might startle you, but you know who's going to make it and who's going to die, when all the scares are going to happen. Third time, maybe a little less scary. By the tenth time you've watched it, it probably won't even phase you anymore. The same goes for games, even though it may take longer since the game can play out differently each time. Even in a game like Resident Evil 7 which has loads of scares packed in and a very tense atmosphere wears off after a while (I've played it maybe 6-7 times at this point and it doesn't phase me anymore).

As far as making killers way more powerful, though, I don't think it would bring it back. People who have played the game for hundreds of hours are no more scared of Freddy or the Spirit than they are a Wraith (that is to say, they're probably not, they've seen it all and it's just a game to them at this point). Sure, they might want to avoid the killer a bit more, but they're not scared. If you were to buff killers to crazy levels, it would more than likely just be frustrating for people more than scary.

Solid point. It's the way our brain works. However the game could be a little more atmospheric. As for the killers, it's not the same playing a m1 killer on top tier games (or top mmr now?) as playing a nurse/spirit. You can sense how survivors (me myself when playing survivor btw) have little fear to a ghostface, clown, etc cause i know they rely on me making mistakes to catch me, so i am in control. Regardless of how good they can be, if i don't make mistakes they won't catch me. Which is one of the reasons why most people that understand this game to such a deep level, don't fear.

Not just because of time invested into it, you don't fear things when you are in control. Whether a survivor should be in control of the situation or not it is up to you guys to define ofc.

Things change when facing a nurse/spirit. Control is no longer pre-given to survivors, it actually gets disputed between both parties and the best player comes on top. When I play nurse, I can notice I actually scare people. And when I face a really good spirit or nurse, I get scared as ######### as well. And I enjoy it a lot!

However I am a very competitive person, not to mention I used to play Dota 2 almost at a professional level. So i understand how most people don't care about these situations. Which these killers also account for thanks to their design.

If u are a casual player, chances are you will also face a casual player (thanks to mmr being implemented), if this casual killer plays nurse or spirit, won't do as good as someone that practices and plays them a lot (you rely on your skill!). I honestly think you have created the best surv-killer scenario possible with these two killers. Dota 2 balance level, but i digress.

Point is these killers allow a new type of fear in the game, the type of fear only good competitive games can provide. Actual fear to your opponent's skill.
