WHAT? SPEAK UP!
-
Depends what kind of nonsense went on in the match. If the survivors are teabagging, body blocking, yada yada yada I usually won't read. I'm either going to do poorly and they'll talk crap, or I'll do well and they'll talk crap. No escaping it.
Long time player of Friday the 13th (R.I.P.) and that community is far more toxic, and vulgar, than anything I've experienced in DbD. They'd swear the opposite was true but I just don't see it. -
Gen rushes. Flashlights when breaking pallets or picking up survivors. Body blocking and camping/swarming hooks. Tailgaters. Sprint burst.
There's no way to keep survivors truly isolated. They're extremely, absurdly fast. More horror, more tension please. -
I don't know that it's his visibility being an issue but more a series of effects that slow him down that defeats the point of his being able to ambush.
I have a lot of success getting right on top of survivors. For me it feels like a combination of being unable to attack while cloaked, slowing down to uncloak, and being "stunned" more or less after landing a hit.
It feels like once the momentum in a match starts to pick up that cloaking just becomes useless since you're already being slowed by windows, pallets, flashlights with those survivors that get that huge speed burst after you hit them.
His tracking abilities are great. I'm using tier 3 Bloodhound, Predator, Whispers, and ....... What's the name, the one where you go stealth standing still? Anyways, it feels like he'd be running better if maybe his ability to ambush were the focus?
Like if you could get within a yard or two of survivor undetected you can put them down in 1 hit?
Or, you transfer the cloak so to speak. When you hit a survivor they're then 100% invisible to other survivors until healed? If you hook them and they're invisible the other survivors might have a hard time finding the hook especially if there's a few close together. Might jive well with Rotten Oak.
I don't know, just my opinion with very few hours to back it up. Might make better use of his power to heavily reward the ambush or something that will affect survivors ability to act as a team, keep them separated, isolated. -
"Toxic camper that's ruining the game"
I had a survivor on a hook right in front of the exit, which was open, with a survivor to each side of them. One of which had a flashlight who'd been on me the entire match.
The entitlement mentality of survivors is quickly baffling me. -
Feedback from a brand new player - Killer only so far: I don't feel I can take 10 steps from someone I just hooked. I'm constantly followed by survivors, body blocked at hooks, and almost always camp because most of the time it's a 2 for 1 deal. Much if the time it seems I'm having to hook 1 survivor as a distraction so I can hook 2nd to get the camping survivor away from the 1st. They get the 2nd one down I get the 1st back up a 2nd time.
Quite a chore. But I am really enjoying the game. -
I just started playing DbD a week ago and I'm using the Wraith.
And I camp.
Why wouldn't I camp? I'm completely invisible when I don't move, and I've got a perk the sets my radius to 0 after not moving for 3 seconds. That whole mechanic right there says STAY STILL. Am I supposed to walk out away from everything to do this?
I've got a year of Friday the 13th behind me.
I started watching TydeTyme's to figure out what I should be doing in DbD and saw the "camping" video. I found it pretty hilarious.
This exact same thing comes up in F13. The phone's fuse box and one of the cars spawn next to each other on a map. Counselors gather there attempting to repair the objectives so, as Jason, you stay there to ensure they don't. They ######### and moan and call you a "camper". You politely reply by bringing your axe down on them. Now you're a camper and a slasher.
STFU already, Jason's job is to kill everyone.
So being new to DbD I already do not care about what a survivor thinks. I'm also being called a "camper" by some DB's that do nothing but body-block every time I tried to put someone on a hook.
I see that DbD has those survivor mains that spend their time doing nothing but trolling the killer and showboating while everyone else does the work, even when it gets other survivors killed, just like F13. -
Brand new player here, haven't tried everyone yet but so far I'm absolutely having a blast using the Wraith.
In order that I enjoyed (who I've tried out) -
1. Wealth
2. Nurse (but also equally frustrating)
3. Leatherface
4. Hundreds
5. Trapper
6. Hag
7. Meyers -
I've been playing Friday the 13th for about a year now and will admit that I do very much enjoy it, even with its problems. The recent update has virtually destroyed it though. I'm a PC gamer and the F13 player base has dwindled to numbers in the hundreds. So, I finally gave in and just started playing Dead by Daylight.
In F13 my favorite thing about Jason is his Stalk ability, and when I play as a counselor I normally take the "lone wolf" approach. So, naturally, I took the Wraith out for a spin before any other and I really like the mechanics. I've tried the Trapper, Nurse, Doctor, Leatherface, Meyers, and the hatchet thrower (don't remember the name).
The Wraith feels good to use, getting right up on top of survivors and popping out of cloak. He's fast, handles well, his ability allows for some great chases if you can correctly anticipate the survivors next move(s). I'll always gravitate towards stealthy game play if it's an option. I'll get around to learning Myers at some point.
I've been playing about a week now. Killing no one in a match is obviously not fun. Killing 2 of 2 is a fun match. 4 of 4 feels really rewarding. I'll stick with the Wraith for now. I've got him up to level 25 now and I'm experimenting with the perks, I'm using (sorry I can't remember the name) the one where you hear the Entity when a survivor is close, the one that drops your fear radius to 0 after standing still, and I think the bloodhound one. Really enjoying him all around. And, this new candle set-up he has coming is just all kinds of sick.
