Amen to that.
It's discussed because a lot of players would rather lobby to keep the game imbalanced AKA keep their bullying simulator as much as they can.
You're talking to peoples who when hearing a potential Freddy buff, proceed to lobby against it, and defended Infinites back then, even knowing it's bullshit they would still defend it at all cost.
"Because it's FUN (TM)."
And since this situation is rotting for years, Devs basically created a Troll paradise.
And they conviniently keep this toxic atmosphere, since they noticed it bringed a lot of Ochido wannabe.
It's their cash cow, and they'll never get rid of it as long as it keep doing his job.
Don't put your hope too high for seeing drastic change coming soon.
Or at all.
You're right aren't you. Youtube is a massive indirect advertising platform and will drive up sales regardless of the fact it's "fun" at the expense of a minority. Hell, I've laughed at Ochido.
In the face of this, I would've hoped the more savvy members of the community would tolerate lobby dodging. Lobby dodging is at least is an "valid" (if very frowned upon) and (clearly) necessary counter move, but no. There isn't a sense of sportmanship or challenge. I had no idea I was such a "Samurai".
It's painfully clear that the survivor side is (overall) in the wrong! And herein is the root of DBDs toxicity problem.

As a “survivor main” myself I’m appalled. There really shouldn’t be a discussion here.
Dead by Daylight is not mechanically designed to take into consideration survivor players being able to communicate so effectively. Being able to determine the killer’s location, communicate where hex totems or chests are located (or what’s in the chests), to talk with each other about the last few generator(s) to focus on, the list of advantages SWF gives survivors is obscene and the surface has barely been scratched.
With regards to camping/tunneling, flashlight spam (if that’s even a thing) one or two controversial perks (on both sides) and even taunting and bad bahaviour – those things are all fine (if frowned upon), but SWF really is something else.
And “lobby dodging” to avoid SWF is not comparable AT ALL to mid-game rage-quitting. The latter is inexcusable in almost all circumstances and utterly contemptable. Whereas, I really don’t blame killer lobby dodging. In fact, in the spirit of fair play and respect, I encourage it.
Why is this being discussed?

Reading the lore, here are the branches:Forced to Kill:
-Trapper by way of the hooks that hold up his clothes
-Nurse from the pillowcase around her head
-Wraith snapped when he discovered he was killing in his human life. He's a toss up since we don't know fully what happened to him.
-Hag, made a deal to gain the power to kill her cannibal captors and is now coerced into killing for the Entity. (May also choose to kill, up in the air on her)
-Spirit made a deal with the Entity to get revenge on her father, maybe the Entity is withholding the Father as a "reward"Perhaps by killing Survivors, their own torment is lessened.
Chooses to Kill:
-Hillbilly has an animalistic mindset, seeking only to kill due to his horrendous childhood.
-Shape (Micheal Myers), apparently made a deal with the Entity to kill Survivors over and over since killing is the only thing that brings him any peace.
-Huntress, finds hunting humans to be the greatest kind of hunt.
-Cannibal (Leatherface), Entity provides him peace so he kills to please it.
-Doctor, likes inflicting torture.
-Pig, follows Jigsaws philosophy but doesn't believe in it. Specifically says there was no chance for redemption, they were meat and meat deserves to die.
-Nightmare (Freddy), sure he's lost a large chunk of his power, but I doubt he's displeased with the whole affair.
-Clown, dude was a serial killer in life, now he gets to kill for the rest of eternity. For these Killers, the death of Survivors is it's own reward.
An excellent post and exactly what I was looking for.
The only point I really disagree with is Pig. There’s a sub-motivation for “Chooses to Kill” that suggests an innate enjoyment or sadism to murder. Amanda Young just doesn't strike me as innately sadistic. I honestly don’t think she’s that evil (indulge me).
Before she died and started her murders after becoming disillusioned with Kramer, her motivation seemed to be sheer despair in the face of (what she felt) was the futility of it all. I’m taking a leap of faith thinking she’s become imprisoned by the Entity like (some of) the others. She doesn’t enjoy killing and is now doomed to kill forever – and to eternally wallow in her own self-pity.
Huntress as well. She’s lived a life of extreme isolation and can’t be judged by our values. Given she captured little girls and didn’t understand that children just can’t take care of themselves in the harsh wilderness, chances are she doesn’t see her murdering as something innately evil. At the very least she isn’t fueled by malevolent sadism.
She’s still evil! But operates on a different level. She doesn’t understand that mask is creepy. She doesn’t understand that humming is creepy (and dissonant). Kinda like Leatherface in that she is simply reacting to her situation.
At least they’re not like Myers, Clown, Kruger or Doctor. Those guys... that’s TRUE evil. Sadistic monsters. We love them!

Easily in excess of 3 million. I made 500,000 on Monday evening alone. I was absolutely determined to squeaze as many drops of blood out this weekend as possible! Every envelope and every streamer was used.
There was one time where two other players contribute steamers and I had my +100% BP to me offering. I was all set for a massive BP bonanza! But then I died 2 mins into the game.
Dammit.

Thank you very much for the responses
. Some food for thought. If “the killers don’t want to be in the fog or trials anymore than the survivors do” it makes the killers very sympathetic. They are, at least in part, just as much victims of The Entity as the survivors. I can believe this for Trapper, Wraith, Pig and a few others, but I just can’t believe that’s the case for at least some of them. These people are evil monsters. I guess we don’t know, but I can speculate.
I disagree with Leatherface lore. I think he does like killing but I doubt he “appreciates” it as a crime correctly. He clearly has a very serious mental disability. I don’t see a reason to think he just does it for the family. And hell, all of them seemed to like the killing as well.
Freddy is an odd one. I wonder how he feels about it all?

Sorry for not responding earlier. I’ve been grinding like crazy over the bloodhunt. Nea can now teach everyone Urban Invasion. I gotta say, how the hell did I ever live without this perk!?
I’m really happy my OP got such a good response. Thank you very much for your time all of you. This is a very supporting community and not nearly and toxic as everyone kept saying. The same applies in-game as well. Some bad eggs, but most just wanna have fun.
1] I’m surprised no further sign language has evolved over the years. I mean there’s also nodding and shaking head, but that’s about it. I was expecting triple-crouch to mean something at least.
2-3] I still don’t understand why people are so cheap. If you use the items/offerings, you’re more likely to earn more BP and thus more likely to buy more/better stuff. Seriously, players must have more items/offerings than they know what to do with or copuld ever spend anyway. Why hoard them?
You might as well burn that +50% BP survival thing. Unless you’ve triple prestige every character and have a million BP reserve? But most people aren’t like that. And even if they are, why not burn those coins or boosted luck bag or something? Sorry but I REALLY don’t get this one.
4] I’ve played around with the mist a bit now. The answer is (as others have said) the double-edged issue of “they can’t see me, and I can’t see them”. When the mist was lessened, I was surprised how clearly I can see the killer in the distance and thus could go in the opposite direction to them. But then again, maybe the killer felt the same way about seeing me at a distance.
It leaves me feeling that with mist there’s ultimately no benefit for either party either way without an equal and opposite drawback. Maybe an argument for thinning can be made for the Wraith? Maybe an argument for thickening can be made for the Trapper and/or Hag? I don’t know. Regardless, it’s a waste of an offering and the bottles of... whatever they are (that get burnt in the fire...k), should be ignored on the bloodweb wherever possible.
Oddly enough I got chatting in a lobby and we all decided to contribute some mist for a laugh:

I knew there’d be a cap to how much mist we get, but I thought it would be mistier than this!
5] Claudette eh? Gotcha.
6] Good advice for dealing with Mr Myers! Thank you very much.
But I’ve now learnt I really hate the meat plant. Killer always runs a hex totem and we can never find it! Delightfully devilish!
Lately we got absolutely wrecked by the Nurse on three separate occasions. Most other times the Nurse doesn’t do much at all. It seems she’s the “hard to learn, hard to master, easy to dominate with” type.
So much so she just sat on my face and made me her #########:

This game is brutal man!

Thank you for responding Orion, Trebluc, and Sulaiman. I think you're all 100% right.
