What's everyone's thought on noob killers who camp hooks until you die, preventing any chance of a rescue?

I've had this happen 3 times in a row just now and have experienced it many times in the game. Whenever it happens I just DC now because it is NOT fun. If you get in trouble for DCing you should be able to ban killers for camping hooks.

I propose you add a penalty to killers who remain around the hook for longer than 10 seconds which will prevent them from being able to cause any damage when attacking.

Survivors get a penalty when they're stood still for too long, so why not Killers? I play as a Killer far more than Survivors and wouldn't mind this at all. The only people who will care are the campers who aren't good enough to hunt Survivors.

In my eyes, camping a hook is admitting defeat.

It's the killer saying "I'm not good enough to catch anyone else so I'm going to ruin the game for that person."

Because it is ruining the game for that person.

It seems the people who get camped, or tunneled the most are often newer players so they don't understand that nuance of this being the killer saying that they lost.

And it sucks to be the one stuck on the hook, and then die on your first hook. But I've started taking it as a victory, sure I have to sit there for like 3 minutes waiting to die, but at least I see the gens pop in the distance and know my time isn't wasted.

Tbh I only see people complaining after youtubers complain so I literally don't think this is anything but piggy backing.

Because it's impossible for multiple people to have the same opinion

They already said they can't, they made a completely new HUD System. There is no going back anymore.

If they can't revert it then they were never able to change it in the first place. They're just saying they can't because they don't want to have to undo all the work they did. The work that literally no one asked for.

But saying "oh no we can't do that now" is a cop-out, they can, they just don't want to.

I strongly disagree with bans for killers for lobby dodging. Current state of game is highly survivor sided, generators can be done insanely fast so killers at least can dodge lobby if see 3 toolboxes because know that it is not worth of getting gen-rushed and bullied in 4 minutes. Why should I get voluntarily bullied??? After generators speed are fixed then we can talk about these suggestions but now gen-rushing is problem n1. its horrible that there are so many topics where survivors suggest another and another whipping of killers even survivors has great power now.

you woke up today and chose violence then?

I'm not making it realistic, I'm saying they have super strength so I don't think that it would make sense from a game lore point of view for them to drop or lose grip on someone they are carrying if they drop off a small ledge

and the killers don't drop stuff so your point is null lol

If that were true you would never be able to wiggle free. Boi lOver, Breakout, Saboteur, Flip Flop all useless perks, no point because "killers don't drop stuff"

And no, I didn't 'wake up and choose violence' You're trying to undermine my whole point using faulty logic.

It adds nothing to the conversation, it's only intended to be a break down of ideas without considering the thought behind it.

If I was going full realistic, the drop should stun the killer, even just a small drop, should in real circumstances stun and make you completely drop the carried survivor.

This is a game, and I'm not suggesting that a 2 ft / half meter drop on the stairs or even a 30 ft / 9 meter drop like in Ironworks of Misery should do that, I'm saying it should add a very small amount to a wiggle meter.

So yes, your comment did frustrate me because it's simply intended to ignore my whole point. As I've said it only detracts from discourse and nothing is gained.

I even gave counter play for the idea, because I don't want to only favor one side, and adding to that walking down stairs or slopes should make you move more quickly while carrying a survivor because it's easier to carry something heavy when gravity is on your side.

Now, can we have a conversation about the idea without bringing up something that I have already noted and pointed out how it doesn't progress dialogue or contribute in any meaningful way aside from "killer super duper strong BRRRRR"

  • @Chchchcheryl said:

In real life this would make sense, but the killers have been granted an exceptional amount of strength by the entity, some of them even supernatural powers!

How else could Rin pick up someone like David otherwise, she'd probably break in half irl lol.

If you fell down a small drop carrying with someone with super strength, you'd probably keep a good hold on them too.

See, I brought up the point about the game being somewhat unrealistic to make this point, and how I've already thought of this, but still wanted to have the discussion regardless.

Bringing it up adds nothing to the conversation.

And considering the "carrying someone with super strength" argument is null, because then you could extend that logic to say "oh but I have super strength so I would never drop anything ever"

  • Here's my take on it.

    30 second timer.

Timer does not go down while in chase.

Timer does not go down while being slugged while within close proximity to the killer. (10-15 meters in any direction )

Working on a gen for 10 seconds ends timer.

Being healed to healthy state ends timer.

Another survivor being hooked ends timer.

Getting up with Unbreakable or No Mither ends timer.

exactly it happened the same with the other skins they gave us for free, now no one use them anymore... giving all for free destroys thge rarity, and no one wants them to use them, is the same with legacy lots of people want legacy, that would destroy the rarity of legacy and no one would use legacy aswell, also wouldnt mean anything anymore. there is an stroy behind legacy, and should be respected.

    I Love you

Seriously. I just had a match where the survivors send me to Ormond, and were a swf group (Can confirm cause I messaged them) of 3. Then had 3 gens pop in less than 2 minutes cause they were all on one by themselves. I had a relatively fast down, but how am I supposed to put pressure on three gens while I'm in the middle of a chase, or better yet, even if I got to one of them after my first chase, how do I put pressure on two of them while chasing the second? They said I tunneled, and to be fair I did. But there was no other way I was gonna get a kill. I said, what you're doing is a little rude, then they said they were all laughing at me and to chill it's just a game. And I was a little tilted, but what could I have done? I was able to get the last two on their last hook, but of course they have borrowed, decisive, and were body blocking. I'm not sayoing every game is like this. But if they have the potential to do this, it just doesn't seem very fair.

Moving from survivor to killer currently, in these cases I just take the loss and move on. You'll learn better how to deal with people being ######### over time, and won't have to play like an ######### to do it. It's a learning curve, yes, but when you are able to stop these people from making these ######### plays while not being part of the problem. It feels nice.

The problem isn't discussion. We've had 4 years of discussion; with thousands if not hundreds of thousands of ideas and mixed views and opinions; as well as actually perfectly sound ideas that could very well be implemented....

...but the problem is, if BHVR won't implement them or do anything with them, well there isn't much point. They just kinda do what they want to do, so we all mostly just vent to and at each other and dream of improvements to things.

I hope we can get them to listen, but I can imagine that they get tired of things like "we did a pretty good job so far" where people make fun of them when this very clearly started out as a passion project that took off fairly well. Because, honestly, they really have done a good job, we just always have things to complain about, and I feel like they eventually stop listening to what we have to say because many people do poke fun at them over some silly things and we don't see a lot of the work they do trying to make the game better, the biggest thing for me at least is matchmaking. I'm not the best survivor out there, but a rank 20 is going to really struggle getting a hit on me providing I don't make some terrible mistakes, let alone putting me on the hook more than once. But at the same time I'll be destroyed by a rank 1 almost every time unless I get really lucky. Both of these cases suck for pretty much everyone.
