I would be all for making the game easier for solo queue survivor if there was an actual problem with solo queue survivors not escaping often enough. But the numbers tell us there is not. Solo queue survivors are escaping on average 40% of the time. Some are doing better and some are doing worse. But if you are average skill level, it’s probably around 40%. Everyone has their different opinions about what that target number should be, but history tells us that if it goes over 40%, then you start to get a deficit of killer players and the survivor queue times become very long. I remember periods in the game’s history when it was like that.
You also have the problem of SWF getting further getting buffed when I think most agree SWF does not need it.Tell any other player in any other game that. Tell them that you are supposed to lose 60% of the game per the devs design. Especially in a game in which losing is very "bland" and leaves no room for fun. In my opinion, even SWF could get buffs. Killer is doing extremely fine in the higher end. One mistake from the survivor squad can cost them the game. This notion that SWF stomps killer these days is simply not true.
Anyways, there's no need to get subjective here. The game reached a peak of 170k players just 3 months ago on the anniversary update. Now it's at a shocking 37k count (steam numbers only). How does such a big game with so many licenses lose that many players that fast? Because it's not fun, that's why. Do you think that if you told the average dude, who bought the game and had a terrible experience playing survivor, that "you are actually supposed to escape only 40% of the time", he would care?
All these licenses and the devs still havent figured out how to retain players. Nerfing the fun stuff from survivor and giving killers back to back buffs and abhorrent, toxic designs isnt gonna help.

sad 2 see so many people not having fun…maybe i made a mistake buying the game rn 😓
There's no light at the end of this tunnel. The game gets worse as you play it, somehow. Each time you lose, your instinct is to look at what other people are using as perks and then buy the characters behind the perks, then grind to get them usable on other characters. By a few hundred hours, you've spent too much money and time into the game that it's hard to drop. That's how this game's design is. That's why many folks especially here are miserable, they don't actually want to play the game but they sunk too much on it. It's like worthless property.

The devs have lost the plot. By optimizing and balancing over the years, they have sucked much of the fun out of survivor. Many perks nowadays are very conditional or limited use to be worth taking over a meta perk. If you want variety and pick niche over meta, you will regret not having meta perks as you get tunneled or camped by a tryhard killer. The upcoming perk changes are supposed to fix this on paper, but I don't know how much of that will impact the meta when the live patch happens. Also, just in general, survivor got nerfed too hard while killer became generally easier, that you need 1000s of hours to start "getting good". Doesn't help that there's nothing similar to dbd's looping in other games so you there's basically no transferrable skill from other games.
I think there needs to be a realization that most survivor players are solo queue, and most arent even good enough to take real advantage of a full premade like the comp squads do. In my opinion, they need to make the game easier in some way or another and less punishing for solo queue survivors. It takes one tryhard killer to stomp a lobby with ease and there's absolutely nothing the average team can do against it, they'll just go through the motions until the abandon option appears.

I personally would avoid this game on the nintendo switch. You're gonna be playing a degraded experience not just because of the poor optimization (even for switch 2) but also because you get updates a little later than others too. Considering that this game has a huge grind and lots of DLCs, and the possibility of this game being literally unable to run at some point in the future, makes buying on the switch 2 a huge risk.

I still haven't reinstalled since Jason's chapter. I've been unhappy with the game before that, but thankfully, the devs managed to come up with a killer design so vile that it finally broke the camel's back for me.
Take the most recent killer as example. The judgment has one of the most unique powers in the game and it's never been seen before in any other killer. But when it comes to the survivor gameplay: run in a different direction and hope the killer misses their attack. lol. oh and you also can hold M1 on a different object to remove the status effect (already exists for another killer). This is exactly why survivor has had the shortest queue times for a while now.

I often ask people for their KRs when they cite Nightlight stats. I've yet to get any of those numbers, and the conversation generally ends there. Funny how that is.
Probably because their worst kill rates are likely sitting around 50%, and the best around 70% or even higher. Devs have made the game absurdly killer sided over the years. Nowadays, most killers are already capable of winning or at least drawing against 4 coordinated premades, and some solo queuers with optional wheel chat won't change that.
The agency remains on the killer player. That's why we have fewer and fewer survivor players. Personally, I have been on a break since jason's release, and I honestly haven't felt any desire to return. I have no desire to queue up and become an entertainment toy for my opponent whom the game intentionally favors. There's literally nothing in it for me. There are far better single-player new releases or multiplayer games that respect your time and effort spent. This game respects neither, but it often asks for your money and tries to get you to launch with login rewards.

Anybody who calls this game survivor sided in today's meta should post their match history and stats on killer. Just a quick screenshot. Like you did.
Even in the evening hours of NA regions, the killer queues are instant, sure, but survivor queues are not more than a minute at most. In the morning hours, we still have long killer queues. If this game was truly survivor sided, then there would be more survivors.

Are you playing on steam? Steam has a brief maintenance period every Tuesday. Try reconnecting and it should work now.

If the new system keeps tunnelers in low mmr, then it's gonna fail. Tunneling is the meta. Winstreakers can continue to 4 man slug within 4 minutes of starting the game, but they wouldnt get a higher MMR increase than someone who played 15 minutes for 12 hooks and 4 gens completed? That doesn't make sense. I hope that they will add a factor of how fast the killer wins chases, on top of how fast they win matches. When the match isn't even, both the killer and survivor can get very quick wins.

Streamers have already shown that it is possible to win more than 1000 games in a row on killer, if you want to. Why is that even possible in a multiplayer game?
It's not just a streamer issue or a top 5 killer issue. Just a moderately experienced killer main can reach more than 70% kill rate on a mid-tier killer, without intending a winstreak nor being a comp player.
Players with self-respect simply don't queue up to be an entertainment toy.
-
It isn't true. Anybody who says this should hop off the killer queues (we all know they're queuing up killer over survivor anyway). Not even at midnight are the killer queues shorter than survivor (even or slightly higher at worst), when historically midnight is when killer became instant and survivor long.

Looks about right for when 2v8 is live, unfortunately.
Except for Germany, goddamn! That's pretty rough even for 2v8.
It was still 3+ minutes on killer before 2v8, but this is not even worth playing with 2v8 on.

And apparently people are still saying killer is horrible to play
The numbers speak for themselves, not kill rates, not escape rates, actually the ratio of people queueing for killer vs survivor.
