Your team can definitely win while you are dead in CS:GO. That is the point i'm making, you see escaping as the only definition of "winning" when really its about how many of your team escapes. Just because you specifically die doesn't mean you lose. What about battle royale games where you play on teams? You can die, while your team actually goes on to win, would you still see that as you losing?

In every single one of those games you get a victory screen if someone in your team wins while you're dead, in most of those games you can also be resurrected, or have a timer and after said timer is up you're back into the game. Those games also don't have mechanics in which you can intentionally target one single player and make sure they are unable to do anything for the rest of the game AND get a defeat screen.

You're not rewarded or given a victory screen if your team escapes because you were face camped the whole game. And yes, in this game dying = losing. The survivor role is called survivor for a reason. You completly failed at being a survivor if you didn't survive.

  • Grabs should stay so BHVR can see how even killers that are not Bubba can easily face camp, completly deny the rescue of any camped survivor AND also get a free kill because another survivor dared try to save someone being held hostage by an uncounterable mechanic.

  • Probably because they realized all the buffs to tutorial bots keep making Nemesis zombies stronger so instead of adressing the issue they left the flashlight interaction as some sort of counter.

  • Some killers are really mad that their gen regression perks got nerfed so they are taking their anger away on survivors. On their head, it was survivor players who nerfed it so they need to suffer by being held hostage in a lost match for.... 4 minutes. They also don't see the irony in every single killer easily getting a 4k through slugging while claiming the game is survivor sided and that the patch benefitted survivors.

i dont understand people who dc when theyre dead too, like mid mori or when theyre on death hook lol.like, boo hoo, youre losing

You can completly bug the game of the killer by doing that. Had a match as Twins in which a survivor DCd when the mori was about to start and my HUD completly disappeared for the rest of the match. Couldn't tell who was healed, who was injured, who was downed, how many gens there left, if someone escaped, etc. A year ago when Nurse was bugged if you DCd when she was about to grab you you would completly break her and she would just sit afk there in the grab animation for the rest of the match.

You're the one performing mental gymnastics.

If you die it may be a personal "loss" cause you didnt escape but its a team based game, and 3 out of 4 survivors did so the survivors won as a team.

You could say that its a "loss" because your own mmr went down (if you escape from hatch your mmr also doesnt increase btw its seen as an mmr draw even tho its an escape) but the killers mmr also goes down if he gets a 1k.

3k+ killer mmr goes up , 2k draw (no mmr loss or gain) 1k or less is mmr loss for the killer. The community and developers see this as the win condition.

Escaping could be seen as a personal "win" but it isnt winning a game of dbd if one survivor escapes.

There's no such thing as "winning as a team", the game outright tells you that you yourself lost, and it tells the random 3 strangers you got matched with that they won if they escaped. There's no such "win as a team" ending screen, there's no such thing as "win as a team" MMR, there's no such thing as "win as a team" reward either. You're making stuff up because you can't cope with losing in a videogame.

It's literally just a game, losing is not the end of the world, there's no need to make stuff up.

Before exhaustion perks were really a mandatory thing killers did complain about stealth. As the game moved more toward chase & away from stealth and survivors began losing perks that helped with stealth via nerf & rebalancing, they of course had to adapt by using perks that helped in chase. But then killers began complaining about chase (as they do now). I think killer mains here don’t really want survivors to have any perks that make the game challenging for them.

It's not really about it being challenging, it's just that the killer role attracts certain type of people who are desperate to be the power role, they want to be able to kill, ruin the fun, hold hostage, etc. the other side and make sure that group can't fight back. In other games like Call of Duty those kind of people would easily be btfod by the opponent because enemy players can kill you back, but here all survivors can do is throw pieces of wood and run.

It's obvious things like Exhaustion perks are gonna be an issue to those people since they ruin their powerfantasy. You can't pull a "TAKE THAT DAVID! YOU'RE LITERALLY MY SCHOOL BULLY! AND YOU MEG! YOU'RE LITERALLY THAT GIRL THAT REJECTED ME IRL! SO I'M GONNA TUNNEL YOU!" if the survivor they were gonna use to take their anger away can dead hard to safety.

Nah, this is on you. I played survivor for 8 hours the other day and I died 4 times. Solo q, no exhaustion perks. Not everyone is struggling.

    Prove it

I'm dead serious. It's happening more than ever before 6.7.0 there was like a few cheaters here and there but now it's in abundance. I'm getting sick and tired of it.

That will always happen when the game is unbalanced. Certain crowd is gonna think they are justified in using cheats because the other side has it better or something. This patch was pretty controversial so more people who want to play the game will resort to cheating. Sometimes they don't actually need external programs, BHVR themselves give them tools to cheat, like Merciless Storm being bugged until last patch.

  • @Caiman said:

That seems pretty normal. A 25% escape rate in SoloQ isn't terrible. Understand that you're in a 4-man elimination game. Getting eliminated is normal. I feel survivor should be about putting in your best performance first and foremost. Sometimes you die and that's alright. Surviving isn't always within your own power, it often isn't. So long as you did generators, helped teammates, and got good chases in, then you're doing well.

    Getting eliminated is normal

Yes, it should be normal, if you make mistakes and play poorly. Yet the game is designed to have a lot of uncounterable mechanics that will always get you eliminated for things outside of your control. It shouldn't be normal to lose because BHVR felt like killers should have pity kills so even if a survivor plays perfectly NOED gives them a free kill, it shouldn't be normal that if someone picks a specific killer like Bubba they get to force someone to sit there afk for 2 minutes until they get an "eliminated" screen.

Don't think a single other game in existence has you being eliminated for things outside of your control.

I know but even with nurse, every chase lasted for about 20 seconds and 1 gen was done every single chase

You don't lose based on how many gens are done, you lose if the survivors escape. It makes no difference if you get your 4k as Nurse at 5 gens or while the exit gates are powered. Most of the matches I lose as Survivor happen between 1-3 gens left, hell, most killers tend to make an extremely strong comeback even if they played poorly when there's just one gen left because survivors, for some reason, feel like throwing the match since there's just one objective left to be done.

You do know that wasn't gaslighting...that was actually happening on the PTB hence why people both Survivors and Killers were complaining about it and why it was changed.

Someone already posted two videos a few posts up.

And those players would have been permabanned if that happened in live because it's literally working with the killer AND holding players hostage. if certain mechanics should never be added to the game because they can be abused we should be able to go through killers so killer players no longer body block a survivor in a corner whenever they get mad they lost.

  • @thrawn3054 said:

You do you. I like being able to be what made the killer only get a 1k even if I'm the 1.

That's even worse, so your enjoyment comes at the expense of making sure the killer had a bad time or a defeat?

  • I can't stand Unbreakable, not that i think it needs to be nerfed or something, but if you make an extremely good play as Killer and end up with the whole team downed within seconds, one single survivor having that perk can save the whole team. Nothing more miserable than being a starstruck Trapper killing an altruistic SWF only to have everything you did denied by one single survivor picking themselves up and healing everyone else immediatly.

Had another match in which 3 survivors were hiding in the same corner and i was Bubba, it was beautiful to down all 3 of them with one single chainsaw sweep. Yet by the time I hooked one survivor they were all up again thanks to one single unbreakable.

  • so are you going to nerf sprint burst?

    They are.

"In the last few weeks we've noticed that Sprint Burst made its way into the meta and it can be very frustrating for killers to be denied of free hits right next to gens, so from now on Sprint Burst will require you to be hooked 3 times before you can use it and it will give you the Deep wounds status".

  • This thread reeks of "your fun is not my responsability" Killers going full "if you don't play with me i'll cry".

  • DBD playerbase has always and will always be way worse than League's. Specially because of the kind of people that gravitate towards each role and how permisive the developers are of certain types of behavior, like DDOSING and hacker, things Riot doesn't allow.

  • I can't take any killer who thinks gens are flying seriously. Their tears made gens take 90 seconds, we just come from a meta in which killers would hold matches hostage for 40 minutes through gen regression perks. How can an objective "fly" when it takes a minute and a half to be finished?

  • I agree. Anyone who thinks the game is the easiest right now didn't play literally a few weeks ago when Eruption would leave Survivors afk for half a minute over and over. Killer is not the easiest right now, it's just very easy instead.
