Who's voting a malfunctioning chat filter as "not a bug"? XD This is daft.
-
Can't be using such vulgarity as thanks in this M rated game.
-
"face camp" was just filtered out.
-
The chat filtered out the work "hook".
-
The word "stop" was filtered today.
The sentence was "stop looping the killer around the hook".
Come on guys. Get better at chat filtering. Its been years. This is laughably bad.
-
Still an issue. Let's not pretend this is working as intended, that it is a desired feature, or that it is in any way difficult to fix.
-
Oh yeah, I totally see what they did. They likely grabbed an off the shelf solution and instead of spending time white-listing terms they just implemented it as-is. I highly doubt they spent the dev resources to try and create their own smart filters.
But this implementation is lazy and unwanted. In an M-rated game where only one platform can even access chat and no one in the playerbase (that I'm aware of) was asking for it, it seems like they just need to pull the plug on it.
It gets in the way of actual communication.
-
Facecamp, face camp, and killed were all filtered. This lousy filter still sucks nearly two years later.
-
People are submitting valid negative complaints in mass. The playerbase of this game is a bit fed up with the lack of quality coming from BHVR, so they're letting their opinions be heard to people considering buying the game.
How else would you recommend voicing our opinions?
The feedback and bug report forums are not acknowledged in any official capacity, changes in upcoming patches are randomly hobbled together (remember those Hillbilly nerfs they tried introducing for no reason?), and the latest chapter is probably the worst killer and set of perks that have been released into the game.
Many big streamers have provided their criticisms of the game and seem to be the only other venue by which feedback reaches the ears of DBD management. Start affecting their revenue flow and they'll start paying attention. Keep giving them money and letting them hook in new customers, and we're old news because they don't really care if we keep playing as long as they keep seeing more money.
-
Someone just gave up on hook. "Killed themself" and "suicide" were both blocked.
-
For more context, the game crashed saying I ran out of video memory, so I pulled up task manager to monitor its usage.
-
It's seriously disappointing that there's no announcement as to how the MYM event even functions. Does BHVR not have any competent marketing people? MYM is a great game.
-
Can't be using offensive letters in this game such as M, Q, or L. ESPECIALLY L. It is the most offensive of all letters.
-
It's been about a year and a half. You've had the resources to make several chapters at this point, but still can't address the chat filter that no one asked for and still censors out names of perks and survivors.
At least a nominal response would be great.
To add the most recent instance, it filtered out "game".

'Wiggling' was never intended to give Survivors a solid chance to get out of a hook. It was meant to set some sort of time limit on Killers, so that they cannot simply chase the other Survivors indefinitely with you slung over their shoulder, or carry you to the basement from a remote corner of the map.
Agreed, it was suppose to be a small chance to escape.
The big issue I have is that they reworked the system to introduce skill checks. It'd be better to just have the bar fill up automatically like others have said. Zero reason for them to have reworked this whole system and introduce a bar with skill checks if the only reward is a laughably small amount of bloodpoints.
-
I couldn't call another player "scummy" because that was filtered, but them calling me "cocksucker" was just fine apparently.
-
The lack of extra wiggle progress is fine
Taking that away isn't fine, in my opinion, hence why I'm wondering why it was nerfed.
the main issue is that killers don't seem to be being moved around much at all,
That's a secondary issue, and almost a non-issue altogether. Killers swaying left and right has almost zero effect on any killer.
-
Even BHVR said that little progress was useless because no everyone could hit a perfect wiggle set for it.
Then looks like the fix would be to change that system by tweaking the numbers instead of removing it.
-
This is still happening.
-
Interesting. I never got picked up a second time, so it may have been the exact same issue.
-
The word "clocked" was filtered.

you have the option to opt out of chat btw, it's the little arrows down right at the chat window (highligted here)
This bug report isn't "how do I opt out of chat". It's pertaining to an unnecessary chat censor that isn't working properly.
I clearly want to participate in chat, and the censor is filtering out words it isn't supposed to.
-
Or just have a list of banned words limited to those used explicitly for hate speech. A simple blacklist feature that I'm sure this very forum uses. This contextual censorship thing they tried out failed remarkably. The fact this isn't even "acknowledged" and is still just "pending" show this is actively being ignored.
-
Unsurprising, the forum's properly developed censor picked up the bad word and censored it.
-
Surprisingly, a survivor calling me a "cuckolding ######### killer" was not censored.
-
"Assassin" was censored.
-
I literally said "two kills isn't terrible" trying to encourage a newer killer.
"two kills isn't" was censored, so it looked like "** ***** ***** terrible"
Which objectively looks worse.
Come on guys.
It's been over a year.
Make some sort of a statement.
-
The chat filter censored "facecamping".
-
The chat filter censored "bubba".
-
I'd love for this to be addressed by the devs at some point. You guys must have seen this, seeing as how its one of the oldest and most posted on bug reports.
-
"Slugged" was censored today.
-
"Facecamping" was still being censored.
-
I literally just said "gg" and that was filtered.
-
"Facecamper" is being filtered out as well. This is a no-no word the devs even use in their commentary of the game.
-
The chat filter actually filters out the word "kill people". It's literally a mechanic of the game.
-
I said something like "I came out with head on then back in with quick and quiet".
It filtered it to be something that sounded very lewd.
-
I literally couldn't tell a survivor that they died because the killer had rancor. The word obsession and variations of "kill" were all censored.
-
BHVR, you guys see your chat filter is ridiculous and inconsistent.
Instead of limiting our ability to communicate after a match in a laughably bad manner, just remove it. You already missed the mark. Do better a second time around if you really feel the need to keep a chat filter.

Here's a screenshot of your own game used an alleged no-no word.
-
Bump. Please address this.
-
Bump. Please address this.
-
See the title.
-
Your crappy chat filter censors the word "teabagging"
Pro tip: If you want to treat tea bagging like a bad word, do something to stop it in-game instead of just preventing people from talking about it.
-
If post-game chat turns toxic, leave the match. Don't engage those people by giving them your time or energy.
As it is currently implemented, it prevents people from having actual discussions about the game in post-game chat.
Why do we, in an M-rated game, need to have the devs act as babysitter and make sure no one's feelings get hurt? If people are saying vile things in chat, report them, block them, and move on with your life. I don't know why time and money was spent half-assing a chat filter.
-
@wimpy You are correct. Edited.
-
Based on your testing, I concur with your conclusion. I did a lot of webs on other characters and it does seem like the number of
ultra-rarevery rare nodes are limited. -
@wimpy said:
I also now only have 3 perks spawning in tier-3.
When was this changed in the patch?
As far as I remember, it used to spawn 4 tier-3 perks.
Isn't this a bug?
Yes... That's why this is in the "bug reporting" section... <_<

@[Deleted User] said:
Have you not got any new perks to buy? When the bloodweb can only spawn upgrades to tier 3, it cuts down on the number of perks spawned to upgrade. Barring any entity fuckery, you should still be able to upgrade 2 perks.
I have over 20 perks not at tier 3.
-
My favorite is when actual perk names are censored. I typed "dead hard" and it was censored to "dead ####". So just hard is inappropriate...
-
@Anniehere How is that even close to a relevant answer?
