Same here, servers went byebye I guess. Again.
-
sorry my guy, it's the game.
the best average queue time for me on pc, steam, eu is 13 minutes (statistic of 10 games) if not 20-25, depending on the time of day.imagine waiting more time when waiting to play 13 games than the 13 games themselves take in total.
also servers keep crapping themselves constantly, throwing out of just loaded in lobbies, disconnecting mid-game, or throwing a server error after waiting 15-20 minutes for a lobby. pretty damn bad experience if you ask me.
do you have crossplay enabled btw? so that you can be queued with all platforms.

Thanks for the tip. I updated my drivers to 566.14 and reinstalled DBD but im still getting the same issue. Did you do anything else for it to work?
sorry for the late reply, just came back because today's event update messed everything up again for me. no use in reinstalling NVIDIA and drivers, verifying integrity of game filesin steam seemingly solved it
-
i was able to play before today, but now i had the same issue.
i had to update Geforce Experience to the new NVIDIA App, and now i'm on Geforce GameReady Driver 566.14 released today.
try and update yourself maybe it does it for you, or reinstall NVIDIA as a whole

Same here! I encountered this only on Forgotten Ruins from the Borgo realm so far, no other realms with stairs or places where zombies have a kindof line of sight to jump from one elevation to another.
P.S.: happens on midwich as well at the hole in the bathroom
-
same here on PC. in the past 2 days I got disconnected multiple times, I currently lost at least 4 merciless matches to this damn server issue, and a few others, and i'm at a 15 minute matchmaking ban because of the server issues. the whole lobby gets DCd, and we all get penalties. what is going an again at bhvr?
fix your servers already!
-
also once this bug appears, it doesn't go away until you restart the entire game...
-
6.5.1 didn't fix whispers. It still is ON constantly in EGC after closing hatch.
-
Can confirm the always active after closing hatch part too.

I think they should just change it so that Boil Over requires your team to take protection hits for you to gain it's benefit, rather than falling from heights. That way it sort of synergies with Breakout, but it also requires some coordination on the part of the survivors rather than it being a free benefit that you get just from standing in the main building. It'd also give it more counterplay in regards to Mad Grit and Starstruck, whereas the current strat is basically play Pyramid Head or slug.
this sounds like a decent change i got to give it to you.
i still think it would mostly benefit swf and encourage more toxic plays, and it leaves out solo queue people for example.
but i 100% agree that mad grit or starstruck could actually be of good use in these cases.

100-120 second cooldown? You have got to be kidding. Basically it's trying to make this perk useless again, just like it was before. if I'm going to have a 100/120 second cooldown on a perk like Boil Over, then I definitely find it more viable to use other exhaust perks that will give me more secure benefits.
The ideal solution would be to reduce the wiggle advance, perhaps from 25% to 15% or 10%.
The 100% impact on strength is more than fair.
having a cooldown on BO will still grant you at least 1 free escape from the killer's grasp 90% of the time if not one more (consider body blocking, sabotaging, etc.), so with the cooldown implemented it can practically still be like another DS that you can use even 2 times during a match if it is played "right".
the cooldown would just mean that you are unable to abuse it like CoconutRTS demonstrated in his video recently, that you go to a higher spot on the map and you're technically unhookable.
this would mean that if you escape from your first wiggle (which is kind of 100% sure), if the killer catches you again you will definitely be hooked if you are unable to run away or loop them. because imo using BO in this toxic buttwipe way is not even skillful, and does not reflect how good of a survivor you are, you just pull the joker card all the time.
if it fits better, then here's my addition to my cooldown comment: with the cooldown active the survivor can still get a 75% wiggle effect increase and the aura obscuring. it's still a decent advantage.

No i mean.... without changing the game, what can you do?
What are the tools the game provides to a killer main to play and countering this strategy?
Another one i thought is:
- Playing pig, apply traps, or they do not gens, or they die for headpop, or they must move from the library in order to remove them and then you can catch them near viable hooks.
Without changing the game I think you pretty much exhausted the options with the methods you shared.
The Oak offerings might help to brings hooks closer, that's something I didn't see above.
Rancor is also a mixed bag, but based on my own experience in my past games, whoever runs BO, also runs DS, so at some point they will become the obsession anyways, and as a punishment you are able to kill them in the endgame.
On this note: tunnel and Mori. Obviously this is mixed too, because to be able to Mori, you need to hook them at least twice which in this scenario is questionable.
Devour Hope: you focus down everyone else in the team, and kill the BO guy last with the free Mori. Obviously this is a Hex, so good luck on getting a decent totem spawn.
Maybe swap Knock Out for Third Seal, but that's also a Hex...
But to be honest there aren't enough perk slots to counter this from a logical point of view, without ruining your chances because you need to sacrifice a good build to get some of these perks in.
P.S.: oh right, play Bubba, and if you get lucky to hook the BO guy, facecamp them until dead, and enjoy the easy-peasy-entity displeasy.

The really annoying thing is that there is a lot about the mid chapter that I like.
The new audio is stellar.
Dead Man's Switch is almost viable on the right killer/build.
Amanda's Letter isn't complete garbage anymore.
But...man. Boil Over is, on it's own, making me like this game less every time I see it. At best, it's annoying as hell. At worst, it allows a team to completely take a match hostage.
True, can't deny they introduced a few good things too which I too like, so yeah a bit of an overkill from myself as well. But the Twins nerf? The Nemesis nerf? I think those were uncalled for. They nerf far too many killer things below the ground because they consider them encouragement for toxic plays, and think they are imbalanced yet introduce things like the current BO, which encourages toxic plays from survivors from the getgo and as a reaction from killers as well (bleed them out, facecamp etc).

This mess of a perk in this current state should be an exhaustion perk with a cooldown of like 100-120 seconds. It would definitely root out the majority of toxic buttwipes abusing this perk. They should have thought about this after the PTB feedbacks, but noooooo... It just baffles my mind how disconnected the BHVR people are from this game... They make a decent freaking update last time, that receives positive feedback, and now they slap you in the face with this mid-chapter disgrace.
-
Not really a counter, rather a solution, which these dimwits should have thought about and done in the first place after the PTB feedback is to make Boil Over in this current state an exhaustion perk with a cooldown of like 100-120 seconds.

The changes to Franklin's have been made because of the Vaccine with Nemesis, since a single use of Franklin's could destroy the Vaccine.
this is horsepoop, they should have made the vaccine item bound to the survivors until they use it or have it as immediate use as soon as they pick it up. i mean, wasn't the point of 4 vaccines only that using them has risk?
at this rate just modify the game so that survivors run around the map, do the objectives, open the door and get out, while the killer is immediately disconnected at the beginning of the match with entity displeased. (oh wait the "In order to access this content, a network connection is required." error already f*s us like this, 5+ minute bans included.
srsly, the direction this game is headed... sad.

But placing the traps under the lever is all part of the fun! 😋 Don’t take away any last remnants of fun left in this game; There’s been far too much of that happening already.
your profile pic just reminded me: don't even get me started on how they castrated ya boy fredster... disgrace.

survivors aren't supposed to survive. surviving is an achievement, not a pre-given entitlement. should i say that "oh, i'm a hurdurr killer, i am supposed to kill!" no. killing is something that i achieve if i play well. if i suck, i only get 1K or none. also the idea that the exit gates open automatically after the hatch is closed. dude. the hatch only opens if only 1 survivor is left on the map (either 3 dead, or 3 left which implies that the gate is open), or if a key is used. if a key is used and more of you get stuck in the game other than the key user because the killer closes it... that's your bad luck. what you guys are saying is the stupid brainless nonsense. not the killer powers and being able to trap the gates. it takes 3.5 seconds from you to disarm it. if you're afraid, then leave it to someone ballsy and hide in a locker in the meantime. you again just want to punish the killer role because you're hurt for whatever reason. what about when the exit gates spaw on opposite sides of red forest? that's fun for me as killer i suppose that by the point i reach halfway of the map to check one gate, you already opened the other one. opening a gate takes 20 seconds for you. sometimes it takes 20+ for a killer to check the gates, sometimes it's 5 seconds. that's map RNG for you. deal with it.
