At the the gist of it, she is just a m1 killer. Holding shift W while the other guys are doing gens is enough to win against her. Yes, its boring.
-
It is really difficult to estimate how many subtle cheaters there are out there, but they do exist, and they are not an insignificant amount of players.
You have to be experienced and be engaged in a chase (sometimes on explicit tiles) to be able to notice it.
Example from last week: 1 guy it took forever to catch up to (not endgame collapse/hope), although i took shortcuts, literally had to spent almost 2 minutes to hit him 2 times with m1, and he was just holding shift w (the guy had something like +10% movespeed)
example 2: i chase a guy around a tile where you cant see through or above(even with stretched), i mindgame/moonwalk, he instantly switches and runs in the other direction when i do (i hear his footsteps and see that he always has max distance when i finally decide to run after him). I continue the chase to a l t wall (of course i play it counter clockwise and he never stops running confirming visual information because he always knows where i am and when i moonwalk/or make a direction switch )
the guy had a wallhack
-
Dont worry, BHVR understands your concerns and they have taken action.
Thats why they will buff power struggle and boil over, 2 perks that can be used to bully the killer (especially in SWF) next patch.
-
I experience the same thing as the killer in the video. I have a low ping and on a regular basis during my games m1 hits to a down get validated away to either a pallet stun after the down or to a dead hard and grabs get validated to a m1 by survivor that have double or more than my ping (i have 40 ms ping).
The thing is, it looks ridiculous, i downed a survivor today that was working on a gen, he was lying on the ground then rollback kicked in, he stood up and dead harded away. Not only does this hit validation take 100% valid hit away from you, you suffer the cooldown for a missed swing too, its a joke.
-
I started to play some games again as killer.
I understand that getting hit after a palled stun and through dead hard was very frustrating for survivors and i am glad that they fixed that.
But now, even though i have a low ping (about 40ms) almost all of my hits through pallets get rolled back, i get a lot of rolled back hits on dead hard (that look ridiculous on my screen, i downed someone with m1 that was working on a gen, then he stood up and dead harded away), grabs get interrupted and rolled back to a m1 sometimes. This complaint is not about balance, its just frustrating when you experience rollback to your disadvantage on a regular basis, even though i have a good ping. My last game today was as trapper, got 3 m1 and 1 grab validated and all survivors had deadhard and used that to go over my traps, again not talking about balance, but it feels so bad.
-
A high skill kilelr should not always win or 4k, but he should feel like he can make use of his skill to achieve good results (shorten chases, apply good map pressure to gain more time etc).
As survivor, it feels very rewarding if you have good position, camera movement, you run the loops close and achieve the fast vault. You get rewarded instantly for your skill.
As killer? There are a few killers that have powers that help them in the chase, those are the ones that can make skillful plays and get rewarded (and they are the fun ones to play), the other ones? nope
-
I feel too many survivors, mind you not all, just want to humiliate the killer to feel good about themselves.
The teabagging, flashlight clicking etc., during the game and in the postgamechat, if many escape they often write gg ez and make fun of me. If i kill all or many they insult me as sweaty and because i used some unfair tactic.
I had a game today where i made 3k on haddonfield as billy and the survivors were insulting me like crazy because i had to m1 a lot "m1lly", etc. Its at situations like these that i wonder why i am still playing the game (i rarely play dbd anyway so it just reaffirms my decision to stop with dbd). You have to try very hard to achieve results and then as reward you get insulted in the postgame chat, nice
-
Although i haven't removed dbd from my pc yet, after several years of playing (2k hours), i stopped to play since a few months ago, just playing a few games every other week.
People already mentioned it: Some maps are just too problematic (either too big, too many busted windows/ strong tiles like cowshed/haddonfield etc)
Bhvr buffed deadhard (i know the deadhard buff was a fix ), still dh was already very strong (way too strong in my opinion), everyone used it and they decided to buff it even further...,
They fixed the pallet stun validation, a good thing but again results in a big nerf for killers.
I played some games as killer since the boon patch(icing on the cake), because i was curious: To play against shadowstep/coh on cowshed or haddonfield, already completly busted maps, its like torture. there is no need to discuss balance at this point, its just a joke(its not about getting kills). If you play a m1 killer you have to focus your eyes like a hawk, because if they manage to run out of sight after the speedburst from your m1 into boon range, you will have to focus very hard. Trying to apply split pressure on different gens and not commiting to chases, forget it, they have unlimited healing with coh. And the new meta on several maps seems to be to hold shift W, couldnt be more boring. If this is the way that bhvr wants to game to play, i ll never come back.
And the new maps keep getting worse, midwitch. racoon, and the new map all horrible maps gameplay wise. The last good map was saloon.
-
I am a hillbilly main since a very long time (rank1 forever). I already knew that he is not viable (after the nerf) against good survivors, but since the newest mmr test, i get constantly matched against good teams (most of the survivor that i can check the profiles on steam had several thousand hours).
I get only a few hooks and 1 kill if i camp the last guy.
People that say hillbilly is good, i am sorry to say, have no idea.
First: He has a lot of bad maps : Indoor maps like Lerys, new Raccoon city, midwitch, and kind of the game he cant really use his mobility.
There are some maps, like new coldwind (unless you play a top tier killer you are out of luck, too many strong tiles), springwood, and mc millan, where there are too many save pallets/strong tiles, so a hillbilly will not be able to use his m2 to down people.
I am sorry but if you perform good with hillbilly, it means you are playing against bad survivors. A good survivor will not be caught in a deadzone where you can charge your m2 and backrev them. They will force you to m1 them after tedious looping, of course you will get downs, but you will have 0 chance to 4k.
Of course you can easily 4k a team of bad survivors with him, and on a good open map, where he can use his mobility, he feels powerful.
It doesn't matter anyway, i have given up on the game, played several thousand hours myself, it was fun, but the constant influx of new bugs (often the same bugs return that they fixed some time ago) and the fact that you have to wait sometimes years before the devs fix the most obvious problems has reached a point where i have had enough.
-
It is so frustrating, against good survivors with a m1 killer, you basically have to catch them 3 times during looping before they go down( the 2nd time you catch them during a loop because you made a good mindgame/moonwalk, whatever, they will use the deadhard for distance to still reach the vault/pallet).
I think many things in the game, like deadhard, would profit from a rework, but lets be honest, (ebony) moris were so long in the game, keys still are. Insta heal and styptic ? Some addons are busted, why do the strongest killers (with their basekit) get the most busted addons, spirit addons, blight alchemist ring, nurse range addons...., the nurse can proxy camp hooks from like half the map away, she can eat a DS and even if the survivor holds shift W, he is still in range and the nurse can easily port in range for the down.
There are some things that are obviously overpowered in the game, there is no arguing about it, but it takes them years to balance simple things out.
With the new mmr the game has become a sweatfest (at the high level), which is interesting for a while, but not so much when each side uses their strongest tools (survivor bring map offerings for coldwind/haddonfield, styptic/instaheal and meta perks and killer play nurse blight spirit, ruin undying corrupt pop, op addons and tunnel /proxy camp ,...)
-
Its a sweatfest and my main/best killer, can't compete.
I already knew that current billy is not viable against good survivor, now i could experience it in several games.
Playing with billy against 4 good survivor (from 4000- to 9000 hours in their steamprofile) on new coldwind or haddonfield, they are stacked with metaperks and items (insta heal, styptic) i get like 2-3 hooks in a game, and i feel that i do really good lol.
I think that the high mmr players will eventually only face nurse, blight and spirit (if they fix her bug) because the other killer just can't compete.
It is still somewhat fun for some time, however if it really comes to the point where you only face sweaty top tier killers as a high rank survivor most of the time, i would quit the game (i play both sides).

Dude you just set your desktop resolution to anything you want. People do this for all games that don't have resolution in options (mostly older games). You want to start banning people who get 144 fps too?
Uncapping the fps doesn't let you do gens faster, doesn't make you run faster and make your chases longer. Altering the resolution to something the game and devs didn't intend to (isn't in the options) increases your fov and has a direct effect during chases, as you can see the killer on some higher tiles where you normally can't.
Is that really so hard to understand?
-
To be truly good and gain an understanding about the game you need to be good with both roles. My killer experience has made me a much better survivor and vice versa.
-
Wow good argument, really. So you dont know and write comments just for the sake of it.
I ll tell you the problem with stretched. As killer, you know some tiles the survivor can't see through and above. The killer can try a mindgame (doubleback, moonwalk) to get a hit or get them to drop the pallet earlier. Now, if you play against a cheater that streches his res to gain additional fov, he may be able to see your head where he normally should not be able to.
If the killer tries to mindgame at a loop where he can't. because the survivor sees him, he will just waste a lot of time.
-
What advantage do these people gain by uncapping their fps ?
-
It doesn't matter what the result is, there are rules and they are cheating by gaining additional fov, that can make the difference if they can see the killer at some higher tiles or not.
People like you that defend cheaters are really annoying.
-
Those survivors are a bunch of cheaters.
With stretched you gain additional FOV and can look over tiles you normally can't. Any good survivor/killer knows that this is a huge advantage, loops where the survivor can see above/through means that the killer can't mindgame.
It really annoys me when people defend this obvious cheating (they fiddle with the game files to gain an unfair advantage over everyone else that plays fair). They should receive a temporary ban imo.
-
I played nemesis today and a survivor got downed two times by a zombie, he was not afk and not in a chase with me (rank 1 killer). The zombie ai is more intelligent than some survivors you face/or have in your team at rank1 games. That should tell you all you need to know.
-
He applied pressure even in the first minute. He chases survivors away from gens multiple times but does not commit until later, first real chase he switches the target after guy uses balanced landing to get to a gym. The killer correctly switches aggro to protect a nearly almost finished generator. But the ace runs to the shack and he knows how to loop.
The killer
played fine, The main problem was that trapper without any iridescent addon is weak and new cornfield maps are busted. Tons of strong tiles (gyms,TL,shack,q tree) and then you have no vision because of corn. If he went to a chase directly from the start it would have made 0 difference, because 1 guys was already disarming his traps, so it would have been 3 survivors doing gens in either scenario, and you could see that some (the ace) was able to loop, which was enough. New cornfield with a weaker killer against good survivor is extremely in the survivors favour. -
It wouldnt have made much of a difference, but trapper needs one of his iridescent addons, bloody coil, or iridescent stone, to be at least somewhat viable against a good team in my opinion. Like, at least you would have been able to put your power to some use.
-
I don't blame some survivors with little hours that think some perks like pop are op. They have no killer experience.
Think about it. How long does a chase last, then you need to pick up the survivor and carry the guy to a hook. Then you need to run and find a gen with a lot of progress and pop it. Do you understand how many seconds it takes ?
A pop sets back the generator for only 20 seconds of normal repair progress, even if you don't count the time the chase took the killer, carrying the survivor and hooking him, then running to a gen and popping it takes more then 20 seconds.
Again, i can understand, if you have very bad survivors in your team, that go down very fast and feed the killer nonstop pop, the perk may feel very strong, but in reality it isnt.
-
But if the killer does that, he will not get a advantage of the aura reading some people say should get nerfed. So in this case he wastes a perk slot for perk that gives some bonus bp, which doesn't affect the survivor at all.
-
I am a rank 1 hillbilly main. The new maps are to blame too. Like the new RE map, billy has 0 mobility advantage on this map. Seriously, billy has so many bad maps: there are many indoor maps where his power doesn't give him a mobility advantage. There are maps where there are barely any tiles he can curve and most new maps have a lot of pallets and tiles with windows, so little deadzones he can backrev survivors. The only constant advantage is that you can zone pallets with m2 to give survivors a smaller headstart.
He is still fun but against good survivors he is basically a m1 killer without a power.
-
Problem with a speed increase would be, a lot of tiles (shack, TL,) or a lot of pallets are balanced around a certain speed, so that mindgames are possible. I think those are the greatest tiles. The killer has to make mindgames, double back, fake to get an advantage, or at least to make the survivor drop a pallet earlier and the survivor has to try to read the killer. This interaction bringst me the most enjoyment in the game and is the reason i still play the game after thousand hours. It is also the reason why i dislike the bloodlust mecanic and perks/killer power that deny this interaction.
I agree with you that the killer that lack mobility have a huge problem. Maybe they could try to make a new meta perk or even a new mecanic, like contrary to bloodlust, you gain movementspeed stacks if you are not in a chase for a certain amount of time (but you would lose them the moment a chase starts). It would help slower killers navigate around the map, finding a chase, but it not help them during a chase.
Like you, unfortunatly, i am not optimistic about any big positive changes, and i have to admit, after the last 3 chapters, i have played the game a lot less.
-
I think your argument is weird. I would argue like this: First of all, not every SWF is strong, quite on the contrary. Not even every SWF is on comms, and even if they are, they can be on different skill levels. So the assumption that SWF equals the highest skilled survivors is just wrong. I regulary face SWF teams that are weak, because they are some friends that want to have fun together but they are not sweaty survivors with thousands of hours.
My argument would be: If you don't play one of the top killers (nurse spirit and arguable blight freddy ) with meta perks, the balance is heavily on the side of the survivor. Be they a team of highly skilled survivors with thousands of hours in soloq or SWF on comms (the icing on the cake) doesnt make much of a difference. If all 4 survivor know how to loop, spread and sit on gens 100% of the time they are not in a chase, 3 gens will pop after your first down. You will maybe get 2-3 hooks in the game and 1 kill if you camp.
So it is not a argument about SWF, but that most killer can't accomplish much against 4 good survivor.
They need to rebalance a lot of things (maps, perks, killer power) if they implement a working skill based mmr to put the game in a good spot.
-
I don't understand people that want a bbq nerf. First of all, it has several counters (beeing inside 40m, hiding in a locker, hiding your aura behind a gen). It rewards the killer for going on chases and hooking all 4 different survivors (a slugging killer won't benefit from it, you only get your stacks of bonus bp if you go for different survivors). It encourages the killer to leave the hook and go chase someone else if he sees a aura.
Like, i can't for the love of god understand why people want bbq nerfed. Like kindred it is a extremely healthy perk for the game. In case of bbq, the killer has to earn it through hooks. The killer gets encouraged to not camp, but to leave the hook and go chase someone else that is at least 40m away, so someone can come and unhook the guy. What else do you want? If all killer used bbq and left the hook to chase another guy (no camping/slugging), the survivor would enjoy the game a lot more too, seriously .....
-
I want tinkerer and noed nerfed. They are really unfun and bad for the state of the game.
Noed could do with some rework, and tinkerer oh boy. If a strong killer with mobility uses it to protect a good 3 gen setup during the game, unless you have a really top soloq suvivor team, you are out of luck.
Problem is, tinkerer is kind of a bandaid, most reworked maps got a lot worse for killers, i think that there are many balance issues currently, at least if you don't play a top tier killer. I think they need to rework a lot of things (perks, killer powers. maps) altogether to put the game in a good spot.
-
It is the current state of balance. If you don't play a top killer with meta perks and you face good survivors (that know how to loop, spread and do a gen each) 3 gens will pop after you end your first chase. You will get maybe 2-3 hooks and 1 kill if you camp the last guy.
But, even as a rank 1 killer, you do only very rarely face 4 good survivors, most of the time there are some guys doing dull totems, they are not good loopers, searching chests, urban evading or they can't deal with the pressure and hide. It is the same problem with other things. Nurse and spirit are 100% overpowered, but you only very rarely play versus good ones, so it is not perceived as a problem by the most people.
So, although most killer can achieve very little (2-3 hooks, maybe 1 kill) against good survivors, it is still balanced with the random matchmaking in soloq, because you very rarely face 4 good survivor that can loop, spread and sit on gens all the time.
If they really made a working skillbased mmr, they need to change the balance too, because you would have no chance unless you play one of the top tier killers (nurse, spirit, blight, freddy) with meta perks.
-
The last two chapter were all really bad. Twins were a atrocious killer to go against once people started to slug and camp with them. The only exciting thing about this chapter was the perk smash hit, unfortunatly they introduced a pallet bug, so it was impossible to stun the killer for a really long time. No new map.
Trickster chapter was underwhelming too. The concept was interesting but the killer was really lackluster. There were at least some interesting perks. No new map.
Resident evil chapter there is a new map but it is bugged and the map is horrible in certain matchups. The last good map they made is saloon in my opinion. Midwich and the RE map look good but they have bad gameplay and are straight unfun to play in certain matchups.
In my opinion the devs focus too little on what makes the game actually fun, the interaction between the killer and the survivor (they should always keep this in mind when designing perks, killer and maps)
One really positive thing i like about this chapter are some of the perks. Flashbang and the mine are really fun, and you have to earn them by doing gen progress. Nemesis as a killer is ok in my opinion (i am happy that they finally manage to make a decent killer again after the twins and trickster disaster).
-
Agree, when a survivor tries to be annoying and bodyblocks you with BT just count down the bt timer before hitting him. Try to block any nearby vault or pallet by standing in front of it, then facecamp and tunnel him out of the game. Next time, that survivor will think twice about doing it again.
-
Tinkerer and ruin(undying) is only really strong on very mobile killers. I actually think that you can't finish the gens with ruin up against a good freddy/spirit/blight, you have to destroy the totem (at least in soloq).
I almost always run tinkerer, although i think it is not a good perk for the health of the game. Why do i still run it ? Because in a lot of games the survivor are playing immersed (often they hide with spine chill before i even come), with tinkerer i can find them and get closer before they hide)
My problems with tinkerer are: it has no cooldown, if you tunnel out a survivor fast from the game, tinkerer information for the kilelr becomes even more oppresive. It can be very nasty when defending some 3 gen setups (nearly impossible for the survivors depending on the situation), i believe that with some killers (freddy, spirit, blight)if they are good, it is impossible to finish the gens while ruin is up if they have tinkerer.
I don't like tinkerer, but i believe it is a necessary bandaid to help the killer. Most survivor mains probably don't know, but if you don't play one of the top killers, the new reworked maps are very imbalanced. Coldwind maps, or the game for example are unwinnable against good survivors with a normal killer.
-
I am a hillbilly rank 1 main and i agree with the starting post. Instasaw billy was a problem, his charge time reducing addons.
Billy got hit so hard, the overheat, the grunt, wonky hitbox, most of his new addons are a joke (only doom engravings and spiked boots/boots are useful). He is surely among the killers with the worst addons in the game. He is also really map depending, some maps you can neither use your mobility to a good extend, nor your m2 to instadown. Against good survivor on a bad map (example lerys, underground lab , new coldwind, asylum, haddonfield, springwood, the game, hawkins, saloon), if the survivor are decent(they don't need to be gods), they only need to look a bit to not get caught in a deadzone to get backreved and use the vaults/pallets to make him a m1 killer without a power (only thing you can do is use m2 to zone a pallet to give the survivor a little less of a headstart).
Against good survivor(know how to loop, spread and do gens) on a bad map (which are most maps with strong tiles/pallets/vaults against billy) you get maybe 3 hooks and 1 kill if you camp the last hook.
-
You couldnt make this up.
The last two days, during the time skill based mmr was activated, i only got beginner survivor as opponents with my rank 1 billy, like only people with 0 to 20 hours for the most part, real beginner. Now that skill based mmr is deactivated, i get people that have over thousand hours and know how to play the game again. ...
-
Same with me, hillybilly main rank 1 , only played beginner today.
-
It is different for people, is that so hard to understand? I am happy for you that the system works for you and you are having a good time. For other people it doesnt work at all, myself included. To your question, i don't know why i am getting so bad matchmaking either, the devs took a stance of not sharing information about the way they try to messure and rate "skill", which i disagree a lot. I know there are arguments for and against, but in my opinion, a good rating system needs to be rather simple and most important at all, it needs to be transparent and understandable for everyone.
So, since we know basically nothing about the system itself, and the devs won't share any info, all we can do is to provide anecdotal evidence, you share your experience that it works for you, i share mine, that it doesn't for me. The devs will probably tell us that their numbers say that it works good...., so that will be that...
-
Exploit the system? This mmr matches me consistently against complete beginners with my main killer (rank1 billy that i play a lot). First time today i even played several people with 0 hours. I slugged my way through countless lobbies today, no change in the matchmaking.
For some reason, god knows why, this mmr seems to think it is good to match me against 4 beginner survivor every game (all games end very quick in 4ks, most with 0 gens done)
-
The devs said that the MMR already collected data in the background for a very long time. It doesnt need time to kick in (if you play a role or killer that you already played a lot recently).
So the whole argument of giving it time to adjust is wrong. The only case where it needs time to adjust is, if you play a role (survivor or killer) that you barely played or a killer you didnt use much.
The mmr seems to work for some people, which is great, for other people, like me, it not only doesn't work, it is straight horrible. I get constantly matched with complete beginner (like real beginner, i looked at their hours as much as i could, i slugged my way through countless lobbies today, all 4ks, most games only lasting a few minutes with 5 gens up, and there is no change, i still get matched with people with 0 hours) there is no kick in or giving it time, the mmr seems to think it is perfectly fair to match me rank 1 (with my main killer that i play a lot) with 4 beginner survivor it seems.
The new mmr, for some people it works, for other people its completly broken.
-
Chill on the MMR?
I played a lot of games today, and for my killer (only played my main killer, rank 1 billy) the mmr is so bad, i get constantly matched against real beginner with barely any hours. I slugged my way through countless survivor lobbies, to end these miserable games as fast as possible.
I am playing still as we speak, currently i have 2 survivors (one with 7,5 hours, other with 15 hours in my lobby), game will end in a few minutes with 5 gens up too.
The games are not getting any better, even after doing countles 4ks on my main killer which i play a lot anyway.
A random generator would be able to put together fairer matches than this mmr, at least for me.
It is a horrible experience, for me and for the survivors.
edit: again, slugged for the 4k, game over in 2-3 mins, 0 gens done. .... no comment
-
I could be one of those survivors, i got a lot of killer of your rank (i am rank 1 survivor) today that had no chance. As killer (also rank 1) i get matched against complete beginner almost all the time.
The mmr seems to work good for some people, and for some, like you and me, it is much worse then the old rank based system.
No clue what is wrong with it.
-
The more games i play, the worse it gets for me( i 4k every game in a few minutes today). Now i get people with literally 0 hours in DBD (no idea what they do, no perks). The survivors i chat with in the postgame chat don't understand the world either and are frustrated...
-
So i have started playing a few games with my main killer, rank 1 billy. I only get complete beginner, best they have managed so far is finish 2 gens, most games have been 0 gens and 4k in a few minutes.
Why should i continue this nonsense, it is boring for me, i know that it is a horrible experience for the survivor i go against, maybe they will even quit dbd (most of them are new players). What is wrong with this mmr system.
-
Because ranks correlate with skill. You basically never see a rank 1 survivor that are really bad. Most red ranks, even at rank 4, at least try to do gens, at lower ranks, you see more people urban evading, doing dull totems/chests, beeing immersed.
Same on killer side, almost all red rank killers know how to loop the basic tiles (gym, t-l, shack), rank 1 killer usually play decent(map pressure, mindgame, moonwalk, etc).
So, although the rank system in DBd, with the emblems, is very basic, can be tricked, and is most of all a time sink, i think it is not the worst system.
Again, in my experience, the ranks correlate with the skill of the player, with exceptions beeing accounted for.
-
The dbd devs said that the mmr already collected data in the background for a long time and that it could predict the outcome of a match in a consistent manner.
So if you now play a role (survivor) or a killer that you played a lot in the recent time, the mmr should have collected enough data in the background already to match you appropriatly.
So, unless you play a role or killer that you didnt play a lot in recent time, the mmr shouldnt need to adjust itself.
That beeing said, it doesnt work at all for me. I am a very competitive minded player, almost 2k hours, play both survivor and killer rank 1since like forever, and played many matches today. Both as survivor and with my main killer i got matched against either complete beginner or bad killer.
I know that it is just my experience and that the mmr works well for a lot of people too.
Honestly, i was kind of looking for a reason to quit dbd anyway(anyone with several thousand hours probably asks oneself if you should continue to spend time with the game), so if the mmr stays like this for me, i ll say goodbye, which is fine too.
-
I am happy for the people that the mmr is working well. As survivor i now get extremly weak killer( they dont know how to run tiles, some of the games they didnt even manage to land a m1 the entire game during many chases...), and with my main killer i get extreme beginner (last match the survivor were ,rank 15-20, one had 15 hours, the other 23hours). If the mmr stays like this for me, i will quit the game, i have no joy getting matched with complete beginners and stomping them ( as rank 1 with survivor and killer with almost 2k hours)
-
I played many games today, and although i didnt know that the new mmr was active, i noticed that something with the matchmaking was wrong. I got many weird , in a negative way, matches (only played surivor ). I am sorry if i sound too negative, but i played like 15 games , and almost all were matched very unevenly(i had like 2 games were the killer and other survivors were about rank 15, me beeing the only rank 1, and they played like complete beginner, whats the point of me beeing in this game ?).
If this is what they have been working on for so long, i think it is worse than my usual experience with no mmr on.

@Kebek said:
In a certain way yes but probably not the one you think.
In my opinion, current overheat should be rebalanced into also an overclock mechanic. Meaning once you hit certain thresholds (50%, 75%) you begin to get bonuses like faster charge, faster mm speed, more CD reduction all together since to use a saw at that state risks you getting overheated and going on a massive CD.
That would imo be the best way to balance current billy.
I think that is a really interesting idea, i like it a lot!
-
Although i put most of my hours in billy, legion is probably my second most played killer. On big maps against good survivors he is completly lost. He has no chance against a good group of survivors that do gens anyway. Still, the smaller the map, and against the average solo q team (red ranks) he can apply a lot of pressure.
Ruin, undying and tana are a must for him, try to spread the pressure. Try to never injure a survivor with m1 but with his power.
With legion you have to achieve small goals, like get rid of a strong pallet in a gym/shack or whereever, and then reevaluate, mb switch targets again.
I like that you have to work for your kills and think a lot if you want to achieve good results with him. In the chase he is just a m1 killer with nothing to help.

Bbq is a very good perk even for survivors. It encourages the killer to go for hooks and then to leave the hook (if he sees a aura he knows where he can go to start a new chase).
If bbq for killer and kindred for survivor became basekit, i think it would be a more enjoyable game for both sides.

After the billy nerf i played against a sky billy once (legacy with 4k+ hours) as survivor. He flew across the map and showed me some amazing ramps and curves, best onei have ever experienced, but even this hillbilly god couldnt down me with m2 (because i play a lot of billy myself, i know his limitations) and had to eventually resort to m1 me.

I still play a lot of billy. He does well in soloq, so does every other killer (even at rank1, most survivor teams are not good). He has his mobility and potential oneshot if you catch a survivor in a deadzone. His chainsaw is also good for zoning pallets and you can still curve on some tiles (i usually run doom engravings and boots).
His problem is he is no spirit or nurse. A really good team stomps me when i play him (i get like 3 hooks and 1 kill if i camp the last guy). Against good survivor, you have to m1 them and cant use your power for something other than zoning pallets during chase.
I agree that the chainsaw hitbox is sometimes very weird.
I think they did a very good job with the bubba and wraith rework. They are now powerful killer (still no chance against 4 good survivor) that are fun to play as and against. I would like to see billy get some slight adjustment (like removing the overheat mecanic and maybe make some more usefull addons for curving for him)
