  • To be fair I never saw anything on specific perks. and they vaguely said 40+ perks. I hope they just do minor tweaks to put them in line with the rest of the B tier list of perks which are good but overshadowed by the REAL good ones. That is all that really needs to be done (well also buff a few really poor ones).... but i guess we will see what they want the game to be... current Power creep of new perks just countering playstyles (cough shattered hope - Anti-boon, cough Starstruck -Anti bodyblock/saba, cough Decisive Strike - Anti tunnel with an long stun duration for some reason)

But yeah guess we will find out.

  • It really needs to be optional like how moris are done now for the Finish Mori. Those clutch games where a survivor is left and is downed by a pallet and uses power struggle unexpectedly is such a fun way to win. Its bizarre on these decisions to limit play style and interaction with the community for no real reason other then not knowing why the people enjoy this game. (You can have serious matches and then random wholesome ones, and then ones you get lucky as hell in cool ways and get respect vibes from all) This just narrows that list down if its forced finish at end for the last person downed when it can just have the option to.

  • I Hope the optional thing is implemented because I enjoy sometimes allowing the last to escape or do a little game with them with crawling to the exit. Heck, one time a survivor crawled their way across the map in one of my games and i gave them such props at end lol. This basically limits the games people load into for no real reason for a forced flashy ending. Also besides that i really respect when survivors some how make it up after a down and get out (Killer here wanting this to be optional) So this is an easy fix of just allowing the kill option to show upon downing like moris always have (i dont see any clear reason why not!)

  • I mean all of thats nice and I welcome it for sure (#2) but i think just doubling all current rates as is will do the job. (Thinking less work for bvhr the better lol)

  • I find Nurse super boring mostly since its nothing but teleporting to survivors.

to counter my above I enjoy Freddy lol but i think i would of enjoyed the OG freddy even more. ( i never got to play him!! ๐Ÿ˜‘ )

Myers is fun because you can roleplay Halloween to counter some above me! Same with Pig with doing games lol!

  • I'm not too sure why they haven't done some more balance test runs on some PTB more often as a lot of stuff only needs some minor things and cooldowns to be put in line. Ive been in this game for 4 months and can point out almost everything that needs a look at and I'm not playing at a top tier lvl (Im thankful for that because its way too stressful for me and im sure many many many people). I think you need a relatively new fog member to point out blatant issues that veterans are "used to" and think is ok. But of course i know their opinion is valuable as well but shouldn't be the main deciding factor in a game like this when root causes of behaviors are looked at (such as the power creep of perks is getting out of hand instead of fixing a root cause such as map designs and other logistics such as gen repair speeds ect.)

A good example of this is perk starstruck which isn't exactly mega powerful... but pretty strong and seems to only have been made to combat SWF body blockers /sabas.. which is kind of odd balancing imho. and the expose lasting as long as it does?

Then of course we have Dead hard and the main meta perks on survivors which i totally get they need to live against killers perks but they are frustrating to go against as killer (why hasn't Decisive Strike's stun be reduce to 2.5 seconds???? i dont know? would fix the complaining about it because thats the only issue i see with it is the 5 seconds of stun)

But yeah i think without much info on their balance I think they want a fast paced you screw up once you dead competitive playstyle which tailers to such a small percent and thats why people arent even playing killer anymore as much and this game feels bad. One thing i give a tip for people is to play casual and have fun with friends and take it less seriously (can be hard, i think they should tweak the pips to be easier to get to allow people to feel less bad about being dominated)... I have an enjoy the game much better (balance is super needed though)

  • Tunneling only 1 survivor left is amusing to get a complaint about. Tunneling when you got a closer option (and dont even bother to hit them once) and you just go out of your way to kill that 1 just unhooked survivor you can get later its pretty bad manners (def not against the law though.. it just feels super dirty unless you like living in dirt) Only acceptions i would say is if that guy you tunnel was a jerk himself then its game on. But really like others said there isn't anything against it its more just unspoken rules of morals to be honest and if you just dont give a s* go for the BM.

  • I think they got a map rotation of like 2 or 3 maps (guessing) in a specific time frame.. an hour or so window because repeated same map is possible up to 4 times in a row (happened to me yesterday) of swamp.

Side Note: Typing this my experience was replicated in a comment only 3 above mine.

  • I hope none as I like the omniverse of people doing fan fiction and deciding for themselves. one of the best things about DBD is the lore that isn't overly backstoried to hell and you can make your own characters out of them. Thats why I'm pretty sad about David "Coming... out by a company" of sorts when it should of been left to the playerbase to decide for their own david.

Restraint add ons show auras or you can use a headset to hear the steps.

I need to invest in a better headset i think -evil grin as killer-๐Ÿ˜…

If you're worried about that just run doctor or even whisper.

What if they got calm spirit! xD! (kidding of course lol)..Guess whisper wouldnt work of cours haha the entity is beyond that!.

    It's not 20% or anywhere near that. It's 25% of 7%, so 8.75%.

Oh yeah i know its multiplicative but was just saying the perks description of course.

  • Yeah I love iron will on my survivor but i do think it needs to have like a 99% grunts of pain instead of the 100% so if you super close to them you hear them just a tad as i dont see how they wouldnt make ANY noise. Strider should have some play as well. But yah breathing being still on it would probably fix that issue as well. I wasn't around for the strider nerf but if a killer slots it just to hear people who might not have iron will doesnt seem like such a big thing to me.

  • I hear a lot about it being map design and I have to agree. I have a friend who wanted to play killer.. got the game.. got the dlcs for myers ect ect and they quit because it was frustrating and obnoxious play for them which im still trying to get them to come back (and survivor isnt for them much).

I play killer often and the major things that bug me are.

    1] Huge maps

2] safe loops always around the next corner or just any loop we both doing the same little dance that time only matters for the killer (mental exhaustion) Also this is kinda boring lets be honest (but i know its needed to actually live against the pretty buff killers)

3] Sometimes hook distances (with no offerings) can be an issue but not too often thankfully.

4] Super good Swfs (cant do much about this but balance of perks of course.) Hell even moderately good swfs can be a hassle mostly since they just know where you are at any given moment which goes against the game itself. Thankfully lower mmr swfs are easier to handle with playtime however (and i dont got an issue with those since its always cool to survive with your friends in a casual way)

5] Ok this ones pretty big but its like super minor. environment Collision with stuff that shouldn't! that random fluffy bush or grass stalk turns into a wall you just walk into and cant move for a sec.. such a big headache

Ok after making that little list (prob more i didnt list) I get it with Survivors as bigger maps make it easier but also without a rushing ability or teleport its near impossible for a m1 to keep up and get across a huge ass map. Good example is haddenfield. If they only shrunk this map down just a bit by removing a lot of the excess it would be in a right spot of big but not huge. So to balance this ill make a survivor check list of annoying things about killer .

1] If you dont know the loops like some gospal you seem helpless. Only newer player issue of course but if the game bleeds new players it wont sustain players at a good place (which in turn will help with SBMMR as well)

2] Killers have some crazy perks Ill tell ya from their perspective . Several hex boons are super scary and if you can't locate them without studying exact totem placement you are so out of luck (or you lucky and they have a ######### placement right in front of you) Again maybe a new player issue but.. like i said this game has a lower mmr base too to think about too. (I know its rare to mention but starstruck is kinda crazy but i guess thats balance... and forget the idea of just not being around a survivor getting hooked... i get hit with exposed without hearing a heartbeat.. at least give a warning to allow me to react and move out of it if you at the edge of it) I know its perhaps a "get good situation" but people can't improve if shits just not explained or random factors like killer perks such as this influence a game completely which feels like some perk to combat the OP swfs (arms race??)

Ok thats about it i dont want to bloat this reply. Probably missing stuff but its a reasonable amount to add to this discussion. Of course its my opinions as I perfer the game is more slower and methodical of the quick pace and stress

  • All i notice about her is she feels like for some reason is faster then like all killers and players tend to SUPER TUNNEL and camp with her all the time. Its like shes the new bubba (im only slightly kidding every one is major toxic i hope im just unlucky lol)

Can't tell if its just her design and animations making her seems faster but it always feels liek Im hopeless when im in a chase against her....I got no idea why (and only her mind you not even legion i feel this way or pig)

  • MMR is sadly too random. I sometimes lobby dodge as killer to have a more chilling experience ( i dont sweat for kills often and only against annoying swfs) and i some how get different groups. Its kind of odd and probably shouldn't be a thing (hence how the sbmmr still too volatile. Ill say though its way better then before... only few more tweaks are needed and id take the wait time hit if its needed (and i think the sbmmr needs it as quicker games mean more blow outs)

However, this could be a situation where swfs should be treated as teams and be in a separate que.... because it really all comes down to the swfs and not.. but then this splits the playerbase. Yeah its kinda tricky

  • I never had a problem here what so ever. If someone is using boiling over and it bugs you by finding some dumb spot just slug them. I know it isnt a proper answer but its just how it goes and they ask for it (and its pretty legit solution, probably not a nice one but its high enough mmr they know whats up). I miss this map already and hope the spot is fixed soon. (no idea how it got broken in the first place lol)

  • Tunneling and Camping are very toxic ways to play. However, both are.... legit ways of playing. I wish i had another option on here for such a statement but its like how else do you want the game to be micro managed. Solution? I got no freakn idea.. I know both are super bad and just complete nonsense for survivor (Above statement is right, low mmr its very bad, higher its like nessasary since its rage enducing and i hate being forced to play like that). Only thing i can really think of is if the Entity punishes the killer for being too eager since it isn't getting torture before the sacrifice for lore wise? I dont know though.

  • People are bizarre these days ill give them that. Its actually with anything.. even outside games. (First thing i thought of was Wrestling fans lol)

  • Ill never understand why they made a teleporting killers like this. Even though Wraith isnt much of a problem in comparison i feel a cloaking killer who just walks around with high speed is toxic to lower mmr players who dont know every single loop or good at looping as a m1 is like the designers decided to make the most toxic game plays for a killer and make it a reality. Wraith I feel needs like a brand new kit of no cloak but im probably beating a big dead horse (im pretty new to the game 3 half months in) but i play enough games to see toxic creations.. I play both sides so i know whats a bit much for both survivor and killer.

Sorry if i jumped over to Wraith since i was more about a killers design. I could throw in sadako as well which I find to be a bit much and needs to be slightly slowed down as you can barely make distance with her (ignoring her lack of ani loop of course but the game shouldnt be all about that).....however, I dont see the god nurses often but when i do its freaken crazy lol. My opinion of course on my feelings on games should be longer and more methodic of stressful quick games of mindgames which is exausting to a majority.

  • Only thing i got an issue about it is that we create an omniverse of non specified sexuality of characters for the people to decide for themselves. Instead we got some sort of stunt to pander which is pretty sad for the community... at least imho. I'll just continue to make David super straight as heck since its how people should play and have been and should remain.. YOUR CHOICE.

Same situation with the crypt tv killers. Yeah I'm sure all of those are lgbtq when they are all basically monsters and unique beings... such a useless pander.... Such a terrible culture to constantly think about sexuality of everything.

  • Only real way is to essentially put perks at a mediocre level (and addons) with a positive and negative to control any strong perks. ex: Long cooldowns or some other limiting factor. ect ect. This way the perks aren't carrying the game and people but gameplay is. But yah balance is impossible for this game but controlling the pace is and what "type of meta" develops can be. What I've seems its mostly the one side trying to out arm the other side. I play both sides and can tell the reason people run what they do since each side is at a "perk war"

Of course my opinion but its pretty sound id say.

  • ill say this i got the game at the end of january. the games are much better when all parties aren't playing sweaty matches to get 4ks or making it out the gate. like last night (eastern u.s time here where killers are far between) had my 3 person swf (we super casual so i wouldn't say much of a problem for killers and we enjoy just playing together) and then we had this one blight we got queued with twice in row who was super sweaty guy with all the meta perks (he probably tanked himself down or something) but yeah purple ruin, devour hope.. ect (best part the hexs are completely hidden.. now if only my killer hexes when i play were this hidden lol) which are perks which are pretty broken even at lower parts of the mm community (and probably in soloq) which basically just kills the fun. now i just imagine bringing my new friend in and them getting stomped like a joke. i sorta would be embarrassed and be like .. attempting to explain the extreme so they don't up and leave... but yeah i mean the main thing is all the meta perks on both sides need a look at as it appears some power creep occurred to out weaponize the other and some random buffs some perks didn't need . Only example ill use which randomly thought of was window of opportunity why? to help people loop even better and make killer gameplay stale? version from 3.0.0 is the level of balance that needs to be consistently applied to this game.

i really truly feel that all perks should be at a level of some of the less used ones with conditions. this way the game isn't a must slot and more of what flavor you want to offer.. not sure if this opinion is reflected highly but changing up perks should be encouraged over needing stuff to last. ill say this i felt completely helpless when that blight just had everything hindering my pretty new friends at the game and myself included. im not even saying make me fight bad bad killers but at least allow some chance. (oh and my last slow survivors are left to be desired which also didnt help)

think this is always discussed with the lack of or bizarre balancing but ill just say it from my perspective as a relative baby (but im getting older and enjoy the game and staying) It needs to be addressed along with the choosing the best sbmm from recent tests.

Thanks for reading if you took the time. I guess i have a more mindset on balance then others to allow actual game play be a thing over perk carrying. if you disagree thats perfectly fine.

  • What makes killer unfun for me but i still play it and enjoy killer but just will list the stuff that bugs me about killer play.

1] when the team is full on SWF and have near perfect communication. (sounds like your flashlight situation or close to it).

2] Generators finish too fast (3 mins) When a game should last at least 10 mins id say for such a game like this.

3] Meta perks all around need a good looking at. I know my opinion isn't common but overperforming meta perks should be looked at to match more average perks. This game isn't completive and it needs rely on your own skill over clutches in perk performance (so much of the meta atm). Im a killer main and ill take the hit as long as survivors perks are looked at as well. Much of the killer perks are used to counter the SWF and other bs the SWF pull off.

4] I never face camp since its stale anyway *but man sometimes you really are forced to with the good swf teams.. no joke there is a reason killer do ######### like this (of course super new people as well)... the swf teams are just that oppressive you have to. This goes along with slugging as well.. only viable thing i could do sometimes is slug since they picked their partners up in seconds as they literally leave all gens to save. I can say i only had one of these extreme swf which i imagine is up in the competitive area of dbd which i never want to touch again

I Love being killer but it can be a nightmare. I think my opinion is common on the balance of the game but may as well list my opinions on your post. For now just tank your mmr and just kinda gauge if your team looks good or not and enjoy your killer experience. Im not a sweaty killer at all and let them out a lot but its my choice over being completely gamed like an idiot when the games all about the killer hunting people (not the other way around)
