It just eats and eats. I'm uncertain whether it's consciously interacting with individual survivors and killers, or whether it's such alien form of being, these "conscious" actions are little more than digestive mechanisms it may not even be fully aware of.
On the Wiki for a podcast called "The Magnus Archives", it says something about the Entities in that universe which may apply in this case:
Most Entities are near mindless: unable to conceptualize time nor themselves and motivated purely by their desire to feed on fear and enter our world
This feels close to what I imagine the Entity as: A "thing" which is beyond our understanding, yet at the same time is very simplistic in what it needs.
As an aside, The Magnus Archives features God-like beings which feed off branches of fear (e.g.: "The Stranger" feeds off fear of the uncanny, or the not-quite-right; "The Hunt" feeds off the fear of being chased and killed; "The Spiral" feeds off gaslighting and fear of being unable to trust your senses; "The Corruption" feeds on fears of disease, filth, toxic relationships and such). Coincidentally, The Hunt could very well be close to what The Entity is on this universe.
There is many instances of Entity directly interacting with both survivors and killers and also manipulating them into doing its biding and its vast knowelge and omniverse is noted by observer so its certainly intelligent .And auric cells is direct proof of it having consciousness since all Enity realm it basically made of it

Does it want to be worshipped
Seems like a pretty hard "no" on that one.
What does it really want
It wants to feed. It feeds off pain and suffering. This also requires providing glimmers of hope for survivors so they don't fall into total despair (at which point they become useless as food).
That's what I've pieced together from different parts of the lore, anyway.
1.Entity have countless cults in many worlds and both killers and survivor can directly make offering and prayers that Entity respond towards Adiris also is killer who directly worships Entity. So its seems to at least recgonize and allow worhsip towards it
2 It consumes both hope and despair but otherwise you statment is mostly correct

Having rules doesn't automatically make a character lawful. Generally lawful characters create laws and rules to shape a society they want to create and rule over. The entity's rules more create a natural law for the realm and all of it is done so the entity can get a better meal. The fact that it seems to mostly be thinking with it's stomach rather than having a greater overarching plan to create any sort of civilization is what makes me lean towards neutral.
To be fair most things we know about Entity is only about its digestive system(yes all Dbd is basically just about Entity lunch ) Observer also speak that Entity other goal is gathering information and there is possibly even more but we simply unable to undestand them

I saw a theory on YouTube and it's the best explanation of what the Unknown is so far. According to it, the Unknown was created by the Entity worshippers — literally a tulpa fueled by the fear of the unknown and feeding on theories. This is why thinking about Unknown can summon it to the person's location — it comes into existence as soon as the person learns of it and starts digging. So, it is an alien. And a serial killer. And an eldritch power. And a former human mangled by horrible experience. All at once. I don't remember exactly what (according to the theory) the cultists wanted to achieve by creating the Unknown, but it was either to harness the Entity's power and experiment with it or to make the Entity a gift it would like.
I dont think that Unknown was created intentionally his existence most likely accident and product of people beliefs and his afraid of they Entity so its very unlikely that he was created by its servants

I'm not sure. Vigo must certainly be somewhat powerful if he can do things like that. Maybe he will be a playable survivor one day?
Vigo isn't survivor so he either truly escaped or get clapped by Entity

It's apart of the rules for the trial. I don't think anything actually hurts any of the killers. A pallet wouldn't hurt nemesis. Nor would DS. But the entity allows the survivors to make certain weapons and makes it stun the killer so that way the survivor can get away and increase the hope of the survivor, thus giving the entity more food since it feeds on emotions. I would assume Survivors don't have a choice where to stab the killer. Just like how they all can just repair generators despite never having worked on them before.
Everything that happens in the trial only happens because the entity allows it. With the exception of hatch as that was created by Vigo and not meant to exist. Survivors don't actually fight back fully because they can't. Otherwise Leon would be going sicko mode.
Hatch seems to be under Entity control since
It only appear once killer almost finished job
Once hatch is closed Endgame collapse begin
Its filled with fogAnd it not allow you to leave Entity realm
You can affect it by offerings
So its may not even be real hatch but Enity replica of it that Enity uses to give survoirs false hope -

Except the Vecna we have is pre-ascended Demi-god Vecna, as in this is Vecna while he's still only just an Arch-Lich.
His hand and eye only come existence as artifacts after his ascension tho
-
To give survivors false sense of hope and security because that allow entity feed on more kind of emotions and use survivors for longer

It's possible BHVR may consider it, but for me Dracula would just have his powers manipulated in the same way Freddy has.
Vecna is a genuine threat to The Entity, with his intellect probably as much as an issue than his powers. However, within the realms The Entity has muted the magical side because it already found out it could not take Vecna by force, so it understands the danger of bringing Vecna in unhinged. Dracula is not a threat to The Entity.
The devs could use the Mark as a way to mute Dracula's power, but then that creates a lore issue for me, because surely someone like Freddy would have also needed this to mute his power too.
For me, the Mark is used to subdue a threat to The Entity itself, as it's already shown how it can boost or weaken an existing power. Pyramid Head and Freddy are perfect examples respectively.
Well Is Fredddy really that powerful ? from what i know most of his power are in dream world
and his power not even his own since it was granted by dream demons so i suppose entity repace them as power source for him
-
experience bonus
-
Also Vecna lore don't mention him becoming god so i suppose Vecna that Entity has taken was from time when he wasn't God but just very powerful lich-wizard but there is also his hand and eye that only come to existence as artifacts during his ascecntion to godhood

Yeah, but again, if the entity can do that on a planetary scale, its stupid to do so in a dramatically smaller scale.
Why stalking and carefully selecting one being here, and one being there, if you can open a massive maw and swallow the entire planet?
Something doesnt add up.
Yes, he accepted to be taken by the entity, and aim to break free once he had learned all there is to learn from it.
There is many reasons for that :
First thing is that process of consuming world is pretty much mystery for us but most likely it isn't something that happens instantly and require some preparation or at least time
Second reasons is that if
Entity consume world instantly it won't be able to get anything from it anymore so no survivors and no killers and other stuffThird reasons is that there seems to be a ways to repel Entity
I suppose there other reasons as well like maybe in some cases Entity like to view worlds and what happens inside them much like observer

@Tzimiscelord said:
Very interesting, i admit, but makes no sense at all.
Think for a second.
If the entity can just grab a planet and terraform it at its leisure…. Whats the point of the trials?
Why create a miniplace with 4 guys and a killer generating emotions, when you can easily snatch AN ENTIRE PLANET, put no work on it, and have billions of people and millions of killers generating emotions?
If the entity can manipulate entire planets, the trials makes absolutely no sense.
Its putting more work for literally hundreds of million times less return.
Not to mention, omnipotent beings shouldnt need to feed, which the entity canonically needs, and vecna canonically stopped the entity until he allowed himself to be taken.
That is basically what happens Entity grab beings and then put them on trials and then milk both killer and survivors until they became completely broken which makes the trials its digestive system and that happens to almost anyone who Entity directly consumed so that is a lot of beings. And dont forget that trials with generators is basically abstraction they not always work that way also Entity isnt omnioptient it just very stong
As for Vecna:
A sick curiosity overcoming him, he dropped his concentration, and let the fog take him. Whatever it was, wherever it was, he understood that the only way to harness it was to submit to it. He knew, in his cold, unbeating heart, that its dark secrets would one day be his.
He accepted Entity terms and sumbitted to fog so currently he on the Leash due mark but he aim to break free eventually -

Not really, you just pulled that out of your ass. Theres nothing indicating anywhere near that powerlevel for the entity.
In any piece of the lore.
At least read lore before making such assertion
Here some direct statements of about Entity power:
Arcus 142
The Entity is the cosmic embodiment of evil. Back home we witnessed how its very presence turns worlds inside out… how it seems to remove or extinguish any sense of empathy or compassion within communities… how it brings people to the brink of madness and… well… pushes them in. Now I understand it does all this in order to rip victims from their lives and have them play out an endless trial of terror that it presumably needs for its own survival. And there, perhaps, lies the key to its destruction… if an Ancient can be destroyed at all.
End the trials. Destroy its ability to sap dark nectar from victims like a cruel parasite feeding from a flower. At least the Archives affords me a better understanding of the Entity… why it moves from universe to universe, picking victims off and devouring worlds as though at a cosmic buffet. What I have yet to conclude is whether it is attracted to worlds that are brimming with darkness and madness or if it is in fact the catalyst of such darkness and madness.
Arcus 328
There is a curiosity at the core of every thinking person. A need for knowledge from uncharted and unknowable territories, but what is discovered in those blank spaces of the abyss... of the cosmos are things far too immense to understand. Things better left unobserved lest they undermine our sanity. Better to embrace ignorance than face the truth of our insignificance in the grand scheme of it all. Against the vastness of the infinite we are mere microbes swirling in an endless, indifferent cosmic stew. I say stew… but The Entity is probably more of a blood pudding.
Arcus 293
Things could have been worse. I could have been banished in a dimension without Auric Fog containing the memory imprints of countless victims, memories that keep me entertained and busy with my coin and spirit collections... and the music... the variations from parallel worlds... it helps pass the time. In a twisted way I think what I'm admitting is that I'm glad The Entity takes what it wants when it wants from the omniverse.
Arcus 07
There are things of the Abyss that are left unexplored and undiscovered. Things beyond our understanding. For to see or hear or try to comprehend them is to lose one's grip on reality and plunge into a fathomless pit of madness.
Of The Entity I know little, if anything at all. What I have witnessed and concluded through my imprisonment within its timeless living boundaries, is The Entity seems to move through the cosmos like a primordial Titan. An incomprehensible Serpent of Chaos, consuming people and worlds for reasons I cannot even begin to comprehend... and won't even try
Arcus 08
Fate. What is fate, but a series of moments and choices that define our lives? Roses we want to remember? And thorns we can never forget?
Futile as the thought experiment is, I sometimes wonder where I would be had I made different choices. I sometimes wonder, if I had not been interested in Celestials, would I have even noticed The Entity?
Had I not witnessed the destruction of an entire world, would I have wanted to know more? Had I not gone against The council, would I have been banished within the very thing I'd tried to destroy?
There is a moment in all of our lives, when our choices catch up to us. A moment that changes us forever. A moment... of reckoning!

it is rather on lower side of power chain of dbd universe so he cannot be outer god since it was forced to serve entity and cannot do anything about it

The Entity is extremely powerful, but I would hardly call it smart. It's like a child collecting toys and smacking them together. "Almighty idiot" is a phrase that comes to mind.
Well i disagree because Entity manipulated countless people from various timelines and those who thought that they can outsmart it and use it power for own needs were heavily punished for their insolence main example being Observer ,Otto and Talbot

It really does not take much to fight back against a killer, even if the Entity doesn't want you to. We've seen, in the lore itself, people actively go against the Entity while in the realm. There was no "bargain with the Entity" in the case of Vecna, his entire lore page is about him deciding to go along with being taken so he could take the Entity's power for himself.
Let's be real, the lore does not support the idea that the Entity is an all knowing, all powerful deity - all it does is support is that people can't leave its realm. Every backstory, and yes, I've read the lore - it's my favorite part of any game - does not mention people being "reconstructed from scratch," they're simply taken and killed, over and over again. In fact, in the lore, it's stated that survivors can attack each other, like when they drowned one of their fellow survivors in mud just because he wouldn't stop screaming. If they can attack each other, they can fight back against the killers.
The only reason we can't is for gameplay reasons and gameplay reasons only. There is nothing in the lore to support that survivors couldn't fight back.
A sick curiosity overcoming him, he dropped his concentration, and let the fog take him. Whatever it was, wherever it was, he understood that the only way to harness it was to submit to it. He knew, in his cold, unbeating heart, that its dark secrets would one day be his.
Vecna is specifically submit to fog so he is forced to play by rules due presence of mark on him he plans to break free obviously but currently he is on leash.
Another prominent example of entity power is Alan wake( and Mr. Scratch ) who despite being strong Reallity warper and not trapped within the realm cannot do anything about Trials themselvesSurvivors are entity crops they generate food for it via their emotions so they can do anything that help them to generate that food even if it means murdering each other or even killers but in most macthes killers are obviously empowered by entity to overcome even most powerful survivors
There were two chracters seems to chance to oppose entity Talbot and observer but they both were dunked by it pretty easily with Talbot becoming killer and observer losing his main tool Auris
If you still doubt entity power here quote from archives:
There are things of the Abyss that are left unexplored and undiscovered. Things beyond our understanding. For to see or hear or try to comprehend them is to lose one's grip on reality and plunge into a fathomless pit of madness.
Of The Entity I know little, if anything at all. Not at all. Ao would erase the entity from existence with a blink.
The entity is yet another lovecraftian horror, and, i repeat it again, Vecna have no problem restraining the entity until vecta decided to willignly let it take him.
Full stop. This is completely canon, and no theories from anyone can go against it.
Entity is basically equivalent of Dark Powers from Ravenloft which have rather vague power level but can directly block influence of any diety so Ao killing entity are not option

the entity’s powers can just be summed up as
“Because Reasons”
I’ve noticed that whenever someone asks a question there’s a long response that comes down to pretty much thatI mean what else did you expect from near omnipotent deity?

@kosaba11 said:
That's what happens when you decide to use a cosmic entity as your main villain. 99% of writers who use cosmic villains don't really have a rule set for their abilities, they just decide "Well, it's a cosmic horror, it do whatever I want because humans don't comprehend its full power". Frankly, that's a lazy way to write.
The real question, however, is how we're expected to believe that many of the crossover survivors wouldn't be fighting back, and winning, against the killers. Like, the Resident Evil gang, for example, handle far worse than Nemesis and Wesker every game, yet I'm supposed to be believe, even without a weapon, they would lose to a K-Pop singer or guy with a machete? C'mon. I know it's a case of suspending your belief, and for a game where survivors are just cosmetics, it's not that big a deal, but in the context of the story, it doesn't make any sense.
Well before criticize lore you could at least read it.Entity fully reconstruct survivors and killers from scratch once they taken into its realm they so they are basically toys that are bound to follow entites rules and even deities like Vecna forced to play by rules due their bargain with entity so do you really expect humans to really be able to break them and fight back killers ?
