Always seems to happen in chase for me. Running around a tile only to freeze frame for a second, then be 5 feet away from the loop I was just running around.
-
As of recently, Fixated. The walking speed is just too good, in my opinion. I prefer ot over Exhaustion perks. If it didn't only work while uninjured, it'd be even better.
When I play Killer, I never want to stop using Dark Devotion. It's my guilty pleasure perk, because I've had some hilarious moments with it. π
-
I still remember when Brand New Parts instantly repaired generators. :) I was new to DbD at the time and it was my third ever match. I had taken a liking to Huntress, because I loved her humming and thought her perks were good. (πππ)
I had fun up until my match against a SWF that consisted of a Claud, Feng, Quentin and Meg. All prestige 3 and bloodied out. I had just started walking around and a gen pops. That fast?! Yes. Then another had popped... then another seconds after that. 3 gens done before I even made it halfway through the map.
I finally found the Quentin and began my first chase of the match. Not even ten seconds later, another gen pops. I didn't understand how they were doing gens so fast and I was actually getting tilted. I caught Quentin at last after a minute or so (it took too long. I was that bad). And then of course before I can pick him up... Adrenaline. And he's gone in a flash.
Downed him again, only for his buddies to start blocking for him. One of them had found a spare toolbox in a chest and sabotaged all the hooks to 99%. Every hook I approached got broken.
I didn't DC, though. I just played to the end, clinging to false hope for a comeback. Didn't happen.
They all got to the exit gates and they all teabagged me to death. Sure, I was tilted, but I just wanted the match to end. I started tossing hatches to get them to leave.
After that, I was added to group on PS messages and they, of course, all start spamming the same thing.
"GG EZ"
"BABY KILLER"
"GET GUD NOOB"
"TRASH PLAYER TRASH HUNTRESS"
"LEARN TO PLAY TRASH"
Needless to say... I took a pretty hefty break after that match. Came back when my friends asked me to, and they're pretty much the only reason I've stuck with DbD for almost 3 years.

Iridescent Heads were originally balanced around the fact that you only get 1 Hatchet instead of 5. Except people almost immediately realized you can offset this handicap by just bringing the Infantry Belt too. You almost never see Iri Head without a Belt to back it up.
And think about it, 3 Iridescent Hatchets give Huntress more potential downing power than her default 5 do: she could down up to 3 survivors from any range with an attack that has a relatively quick windup and cooldown (at base it would only be up to 2.5 downs).
No other killer can insta-down at long range, let alone potentially do it 3 times in quick succession. The next closest contenders would be Oni's Blood Fury or Nurse/Spirit while the Exposed Status is up and they all still have lengthy charge-up/fatigue/animation durations to offset this.
If Iri Heads only worked at long range to reward tough shots, it probably wouldn't be considered such a problematic add-on (though some Huntresses might still find ways to abuse it). But it's just too effective as a replacement melee attack for her. It's also probably the strongest form of insta-down in the game.
What Sir Turtle said.
If the Huntress player ran Iri Head with only 1 hatchet, I don't think it would be as complained about. But most NEVER run it without Infantry belt. And it's even worse when they run an Ebony Mori and kill after the first hook.
Some Killers use the add ons after a really bad game to just stomp the next group they go against, but it kinda seems evil... if they stomp and instadown a group just trying to play for fun or a group of solos, they're taking out their anger and frustration on ones who did nothing to them.

Red ranks are not where I want to be, honestly. I never run D-Strike nor Unbreakable, and that's where I find myself at a disadvantage. I'm punished for doing so. Killer snowballing? I could have had Unbreakable. But I like Fixated. (Even of its classified as a beginner perk. I love the extra walk speed)
Killer starts tunneling me out of the game? Darn. Could of brought D-Strike. But I really like Aftercare. (My favorite Survivor perk in the game) And when the Killer knows you don't have it, GG. They're gonna target you and you can't do anything about it.
Experimenting with "fun" builds in red ranks gets me steam rolled. I LOVED my green and purple rank games. I could play with all kinds of builds and didn't have to worry about rank. Now I find myself wishing I could legitimately get out of red ranks without DCing, throwing every game I play, or starting a new account.
They need to change tbe rank reset back to how it used to be. π
-
I love to play as Pig regardless, but if she was given add ons that made me want to change up my usual use of the Jigsaw Tape and Syringe/Combat Straps every game, then I'm all for it. π
I just wish they delayed her roar until she STARTED her Ambush. And that her knife didn't make a super loud "SHINK" sound every time it retracted and extended. But I'm sure they'll keep those how they are, to give the Survivors reliable counterplay, which is understandable.
-
*inhale*
Final Fantasy 7 is the most overrated entry in the series.
And while I loved Tifa's character traits and personality, Tifa wasn't that good of a party member. π

I'm terrible at making perks π But here goes. These will be Survivor perks.
------------------
Challenger:
You're ready to throw yourself into the danger zone, prepared for any battle you face.
Stunning the Killer with a pallet causes the stun to last 0.5/1/1.5 seconds longer, and your aura is revealed to the Killer for 6 seconds. A successful stun will grant a 7% Haste status effect for yourself for 10/15/20 seconds. If you become Exhausted by ANY means, the perk deactivates and goes into cooldown. Challenger has a cooldown of 30 seconds.
"Hahahahaha!! That felt good, huh?! Well, come on, then!! You don't have the balls!"
- some future DLC survivor
------------------------
Soothing Aura:
Your presence and compassion comforts your allies when they need it most.
When healing another Survivor, the sounds of your own healing actions are 25/50/75% quieter. The Survivor's groans of pain are reduced by 50/75/100%. If your healing action is interrupted by any means, the survivor you attempted to heal has their noises continuously reduced for 8 seconds and you see each other's auras for 8 seconds.
This perk does not activate while performing Cooperative heals.
"I know it hurts... I know... but I got you now. Be strong for me..."
-more future DLC survivor dialogue
------------------
Stand by Me:
You adore making friends, and will do whatever you can to get them out this alive.
Standing within 5m of another Survivor for 5 seconds will bond you with one another for the remainder of the trial. This effect will not activate if two or more other Survivors are within 5m of you.
Your speed for healing and unhooking one another are increased by 30/40/50%, and escaping the trial while both of you are alive grants both of you 50% more Bloodpoints in all categories.
"You know what? You seem alright. Stick with me; I've got your back."
-yet another future Survivor dialogue
(I designed this one because Killers have multiple perks that grant bonus Bloodpoints other than Barbeque, like Distressing and Beast of Prey. So why can't Survivors?)
------------------------
Whelp, I tried. Sorry if they suck π

To be honest, I expect messages when I play Killer nowadays. Happens more often than not, but I have fun with it after I found a website that has all kinds of random facts. I'll scroll through, copy and paste a fact I like and that's my response. This screenshot was after one of my Plague games.
This accomplished two things
1. I confused him.
2. I stealth insulted him, claiming he had no friends.
So far, this strat is 8 for 8 : no responses and have gotten blocked all 8 times. ππ

Or she had extra traps and wanted the bloodpoints?
Also true. I didn't think of that. π I normally use all of mine before the last gen gets popped.
-
Only if the trap is activated and ticking after the gens are complete. If a Pig puts a trap on your head after the gens are done, she's played herself.
-
If Distortion had 4 tokens and you could recover those tokens, that would be nice.
Maybe make it similar to Diversion and you need to be in the Killer's terror radius for X amount of time to recover a token? Or maybe recover a token for each unhook or completed healing action? Would make Aftercare (my favorite Solo survivor perk) go really well with it.
But I don't know. π

I think we can all agree that this perk is useless, right? I mean it lets you see generators with 32 meters, but if another generator that close, all you would need to do is run for about 5 seconds, and use audio for assistance. Also, say you finish a gen, the killer is notified and will come over to check for the survivors, you wouldnβt start working on a gen if the killer is nearby, so why would you need visionary. Finally, Iβve heard the argument that the perk is good for beginners, hereβs why that falls through: Felix is a character that you can only get through shards and auric cells, so for any new play to get his perks they would have to either buy him or save up enough shards to get him. Letβs say they choose the shards route, they would need to play around 3 hours a day for about 3 weeks to get enough, and by then they would probably be good enough at the game to not even need visionary, so what would be the point of getting Felix. Devs I implore you to rework this perk to be viable, because forcing new players to buy a below average survivor is border line greedy.
Can't argue with that. Besides, Deja Vu does about the same thing and it's free. Not to mention a bit better.
-
I played a MacMillan match with Demogorgon the other night. I helped Survivors out of the rock not once, but TWICE.
But the second time I helped a Meg, I got stuck instead. I had no portals to use and they wouldn't cleanse any of them. A Dwight and Nea helped Meg up, then they all proceeded to teabag at me, then run off to do all the gens while I was stuck. They made sure to come back after they opened the gate to teabag me some more. Then they left.
The crazy thing is, though, the Zarina that was in the match was trying to help me. When all else failed, she stayed with me until the EGC timer ran out. π
I miss that Zarina already.
Needless to say, I'm iffy about helping anyone anymore.

The little things are just as important as the major things.
I'm glad it's so unique now.

I tried it. Wasn't impressed. Will probably turn it off until both frame rate on console is fixed and they do something about hackers. A major reason I game on Xbox is to avoid that kind of #########.
Maybe one day. Just playing on Midwich and Hawkins cranks those frames on up π¬

Best thread by far.

At which point you pray to the Entity and its many clicky clacks that you don't run into a Doctor using Iron Maiden.
Whoops. Forgot about that πππ
-
Doc has never been OP. He just counters stealth gameplay and that annoys the ones who like stealth. Lockers are nice against him. Quick and Quiet with Head On, Iron Will and Inner Strength makes Doctor matches a... blast π
...I'll see myself out.

Yeah, the thing is i've seened it from both sides, Survivor and Killer and in a really good team, organized all the pressure is gone in a few seconds. If not make it only work with the survivor that was unhooked a reduction of time would be a good change.
Oh, yes. In red ranks, it's not too common, but Killers like Wraith, Deathslinger and Legion aren't able to handle effective uses of We'll Make It. They rely on chaos and Survivors staying injured, but it pretty much takes that away from them, even with Butchy Slopper. (Sloppy Butcher, btw π)
Your suggestion has me thinking, though. It could work like Aftercare does. If you rescue multiple Survivors within the time limit, you could heal them all that quickly. The timer would not reset if you save a Survivor in the middle of the timer. After the limit is up, you have to rescue again to get it back. That could be a really interesting change and possibly inspire even more Altruistic plays.
-
I actually like the way the perk is. Having that increased healing speed can really come in handy. It's only for others, since you cannot heal yourself that quickly, and it caps at 100%. Plus, it's kind of like a reward for saving your buddies and being a team player. It pairs very well with Solidarity (an underrated perk, in my opinion). It does make some other perks and add ons useless, but it is DEFINITELY not like the old We'll Make It. You could pop a heal on yourself before the Killer could even break a pallet and loop him infinitely.
But I can definitely see why you would want a change to it. Maybe they could reduce the times to 30/45/60 seconds? I'm not one to ask about changes, my suggestions are usually bad... π
-
I would love to see better add ons for Demo. As they stand, he has, at the most, three or four decent add ons while the other are gimmicks, require niche situations to occur or completely unaware Survivors to even work.
-
I mean... if Survivors wanna run Self Care, they can. Just hold my Sloppy Butcher and Thanataphobia real quick. >:)
Jokes aside, if you run Self Care, Botany, a Med Kit (especially a Ranger Medkit), and the Charge increase add ons, that medkit can get a LOT of heals in.
-
Based on looks, I like it. It has an ominous feeling to it, and the sound effects are spot on.
But as far as playing on the map? No. God pallets in two corners of the map, then all the others are VERY unsafe. It's a wonderland for stealthy Survivors, but chases don't usually last too long against good Killers. Not to mention only two places on the map to go upstairs unless the Killer kicks the walls to open a third, and he doesn't have to kick it open if he chooses not to.
-
When they message me, I have a fun habit of copying and pasting facts I find online just to really mess with them. For example...
Capture+_2020-08-12-16-30-30.pngIt's been a very effective strategy for the past 8 months π No one has ever messaged back.
-
It depends for me. If they were either really good in chase (no clicky or teabaggy, mind you π), or seem like they are rather new and cannot loop me to save their life, I will usually give them the hatch.
...But if I'm feeling spicy, I'll use a yellow mori if they clicky click >:3
-
I don't even camp or tunnel, but I still get D-Striked if I down Survivors too quickly.
And even if I don't camp or tunnel, Survivors will teabag at the Exit Gate or the Hatch.
Can't please everyone, I suppose.
-
Just my thoughts.
The thing about Clown is he has no map pressure. He thrives in chase, however. Sometimes you have to pre-drop pallets before he can smack you, since his bottles slow you down and get him free hits, even more so if he runs Flask of Bleach. If he decides to reload at a loop, run. Get distance and find another window to vault or tile to use. Lithe and Balanced Landing can save your life pretty effectively as well.
Other than that, Clown can only demolish teams that don't work on gens like they should. (Like any Killer)
-
What if we give the constant DCer's red text on their name, and then tweak matchmaking so that the DCer's get matched with all the other red named DCer's? So they can all DC together? :)
-
When I decide to play Survivor, a majority of my time is spent in Solo. But when I do play with friends, none of us even run the meta, besides Borrowed Time if the Killer decides to camp. I like using Aftercare, one of my buddies likes Alert, and my other friend likes using Windows of Opportunity because she's not the best in chase. But like, who cares? We just wanna have fun when we play.
We're no exception to the 'MURDER ALL SWF' rule (Killers running Moris, using Ultra Rare add ons, slugging, tunneling, etc). But we don't complain too much. It's a shame the game has come to such a level, but it's understandable in the same sense. The sweat squads have gotten the less sweaty, genuine for-fun groups stereotyped into the 'ALL SWF'S ARE SWEATY' mentality.
I guess it's the old saying. A few bad apples spoil the whole bunch.
-
I don't like to use NOED. If I can prevent the gens from getting completed with the perks I have, then I just go with the flow and play my best. If the Survivors get all the gens done, then good on them for working together. I still have a chance to make a comeback, but I'm not relying on a perk like NOED to carry me.
-
It's good that you see both sides of things, but not all Survivors are gonna be thankful for your kindness. I've had Survivors be very sweet for letting them escape, but I've also had others message me in a group chat with their SWF and they'll bombard me about why I only let one of them go and that I was a scummy piece of s***.
I don't even worry about hatemail anymore. I play how I like, but I never play scummy unless I truly feel like the Survivors are being cocky and arrogant.
If you feel that you played fairly and still came out on top, then good for you! If you had to do a few things you wouldn't normally want to do to get the 4K, then I've been there, too. All in all, however, the game is in your hands. YOU'RE the Killer.
-
I find it funny when this happens. π I will JUST hook a Survivor, and one swoops in to do this immediately. I just stand there as their teammate hangs on the hook. If I don't swing, they'll bait the unhook so they can use Borrowed Time. I still won't move.
More often than not, the survivor on the hook just stops struggling.
-
Wait times for Survivors at high ranks and SWF is just bad at the moment. It's not really due to servers, it's the fact that so many survivors play with friends and they get matched with Killers based on the highest rank in the group thanks to the somewhat recent changes. Solo wait times are also bad since there is such a higher population of Survivors looking for games, while Killers are lesser in number and get wait times from ten seconds to maybe one minute at the most.
But as far as gameplay goes, the connections have been exceptional.
-
As far as Survivor Perks go...
Overrated - Self Care. Ever been in a match where your three Claudette teammates constantly Self Care in corners against a Killer with Sloppy Butcher while you're on a hook? π Then you know how painful it is.
Underrated - Kindred, Distortion, Spine Chill, and Alert. I find them so useful to have in my builds, especially since I play a hefty amount of solo Survivor.
As for Killer perks...
Overrated - Ruin. Like... I know everyone is gonna say "It slows the game down!! You're just stupid!!" It does.... WHEN it works, but it can get cleansed in seconds. It's too much of a variable to be truly reliable, in my opinion.
Underrated - I'm All Ears, Dark Devotion, and Play With Your Food. You can make all kinds of interesting plays with these perks, and they're a lot of fun to use if you can make them work for you π
