So, to reiterate, RBTs are not supposed to kill by design since they're completely random, their purpose is to make survivors waste time and that's what they already do.
As for the ambush I'd say that you just have to hope the survivor doesn't spot you from the distance and that they don't have sprint burst, it's more on the survivor's side than the killer's -

Literally waiting 20-30 minutes at rank 1, even worse than after the spirit's release. Leave alone the length of games, the main problem here is the fact that it takes too much time just to find a single person but then it takes way less time to find other people
